What we all know and need to accept---Coaching, OL, & Playmakers

Other than our current abysmal right side line and limited receiving threats....the other thing we have never truly had (even though at times we were close with Chud yr.1 and two true receiving TEs) is an offense built for & around our players rather than forcing our best into a specific way.

What I see is an above average offensive unit that cannot be used properly.  Today, it was a bad version of Dan Henning offense with a handful of option looks.

When you look at our biggest weaknesses, they are some of the worst possible areas in the NFL to have a weakness at:

Coaching -- crunch time mentality, ability to win close games, game plan, playbook

OL -- our right side is just downright abysmal

Playmakers - Offense) Cam, Smitty...(we have solid role players in Olsen and Williams but they are not playmakers)  |Defense) ...

These three combined shows why we can't win close games or remotely make a statement to the NFL.  I can't recall a single game under Rivera where a win really felt like a statement to the rest of the league outside maybe the late in the year Falcons game when our season was already in the sh*tter.

I'm rooting for us every game this season but the poor coaching, OL, and big play ability is teh problemo

go team!

    • Yeah one big factor has been he is surprisingly quite durable. But the reality of that aspect is much of it boils down to plain dumb luck more often than not. Big guys get hurt smaller guys get hurt it happens across the league to anyone to varying degrees. The issue is we are staring down the barrel of a possible top 10 QB salary and Bryce Young is one of the least physically gifted starters in the league. That is not a shot at him it is simply a rational acknowledgment of circumstances. There is a legitimate question to be asked if his window as a starter in this league is smaller as a result because what is going to happen when those hits that he has previously popped right back up from with a smile on his face begin to accumulate as they do for every player that has been in this league? These are just things to consider.
    • This game is a must-win for both teams I feel. For the Canes, you don’t want to go back to Vegas and put them in front of their home crowd with a chance to close out the series. For Vegas, if you drop this game your only chance is to win 2 straight and similarly have to contend with an energized Canes home crowd if you get to a game 7.
