Do you think Nascar would ever consider a smaller engine at superspeedways rather than the plate racing we all endure at the moment?

358 CI currently

maybe a 310 CI engine, cost prohibitive to run two engines?

I think it should be considered.

But I don't blame this one on restrictor plate racing. Kyle got up into Tony, either because he was trying to block or he was a bit out of control. They had just restarted the race with about 4-5 laps to go, so they were going to be bunched up a bit even if there wasn't a restrictor plate.

I am just trying t see how all the anoouncers and commentors say that is Racing at its finest? lets put 43 cars on the track and give them no power and make them super aero dependent so there is no passing, unless you dangerously bump draft with a car that is to heavy/big for its wheels?

I kinda miss the old days where passing and rubbing were a great part of daytona. Now its just watching guys go in a circle and see who can not wreck to win.......

The COC(cot) and the current restrictor plates will kill nascar as we know it......

IMO i would rather see good, clean back and forth racing than the crap we see at daytona and talladega....

I think smaller engines with no restrictor plates would separate the cars and bring excitement back to the superspeedways. The only excitement now are big wrecks two to three times a race.

I miss the slingshot, but I think that train left the station with the new body styles.

they pretty much run with the throttle matted at daytona and talledega with the plates (more at 'dega than daytona, i know, but still). i don't think that an engine change would make that much of a difference with todays aero/gear rules.

      Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.

      As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.

      Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
