* There was an obvious blitz coming.

* Cam took the snap from under center

* Cam took a 5-step drop

* There were no hot routes, no quick slant and nobody was looking for the ball.

* Cam had less than 3 seconds from the snap before he went down

That play didn't need an audible to a quick slant. What it needed was for Kalil or Wharton to pick up the block. Jesus, just block the guy in front of you, its not rocket science. Wharton slides to the left and does nothing, Kalil reacts too late trying to cover for Wharton's error presumably. Kalil did cop to some miscommunication.

The Panthers are # 30 in passing...and Newton has to shoulder the blame for much of this.

Did you see that dump off that Barner dropped? That sure looked like a very strong pass to me. So your gripe now is about Sunday alone?

 

So out of 8 halves, Cam is not allowed to have one bad one? Surely he must be doing something right if its worked so far for the 7 other halves, no?

One has their pass blocking, at I believe, 22nd, another at 24th.

 

Much of the metric you are talking about is based purely on Sacks...not taking into account how long the QB holds the ball. Yes, a QB can make an offensive line look much worse than it is.

 

I realize you need to blame Cam's performance on something, on anything other than his performance, but can you please simply answer the original question?

Did you not see that neither Kalil nor Wharton picked up the rusher? He came in untouched with Wharton blocking nothing but air. So are you telling me Cam should have known the o-line would fug up that badly?

 

No QB would have had a chance in hell on that play.

I am not trying to argue with you, I'm trying to get you to be more analytical of a TEAM sport. I've failed woefully. Cam is not a good QB. I'm out of here.
