First Take on Steve Smith v Janoris Jenkins

Nothing about that was a joke, if Smith has a decent season and a half decent 2014 season he could put himself in the top ten all time receiving yards list.

I wasn't suggesting him being considered for the HOF as laughable...

Suggesting that him punching Jenkins would knock him out....that is what I laughed at. Why would that knock him out? He has punched out 3 teammates already...if that isn't going to knock him out of consideration then pounding some dummy wouldn't

I certainly hope not.

Just saw the interview and loved it, Smith is a street dude. He doesn't do all that back and forth nonsense. Don't fug with 89 bottom line.

In fairness, 89 does do the back and forth nonsense. He just has his own rules he follows that most do as well

He doesn't do that personal stuff back and forth stuff, Jenkins took it to another level. When you start talking about his family Smith is going to deal with you, bottom line.

said he's met smith and knows him pretty well  it wasn't just talking by smith he would actually knock jj out if he saw him on the streets.

I hate when Stephen A. Smith's regurgitates that 'Listen: I know (pro athlete name) on a personal level, very well, as a dear friend, etc.' bullshit.  I''m not Sigmund Freud, but this screams self-absorbed beta male.

However, he was right by affirming that Steve Smith is the quintessential alpha male.

1. Someone needs to tell Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins about spitting into the wind, ripping the mask off the old Lone Ranger, tugging on Superman's cape and talking trash to Steve Smith. Motivated by Jenkins' disparaging remarks about Smith's family, the Panthers' veteran receiver turned in his best game of the season. Smith became the 29th player in NFL history to reach 800 receptions. Before this game, Ted Ginn had been Carolina's best receiver.

The SNL skits are pretty good with him doing that stuff

Randy Moss: "Steve Smith is street. There are certain things you stay away from. Family and kids"

Well said.

But, it isn 'to just being street . There are lines you don't cross with a man...and talking about his wife and kids is way across that line.

If someone talked bad about my wife and kids to me...I would either kick their fuging ass, or get my ass kicked trying.

Was a punk move by Jenkins and it may just cuts him a beat down.

Steven A. Smith is a POS.  89 isn't far behind.  He's never known the word class, and never will, and once he loses a step, someone will make him the next Daryl Stingley on the field for his running his mouth acting like a child for the past decade.  It'll be a damned embarrassment if he makes the HOF ahead of classy and better representatives of the franchise like Kasay, Mills, etc.
