Dear pundits and fans, re: QB sliding

I am concerned with his slide.... not as concerned as if RG3 was a QB but ..those are some pretty good shots he is taking on the ground.   Especially on situations when he clearly has the 1st down.  Those ones that are close to the first down I see why he doesn't leg slide because the spot the ball when the slide motion starts.

Cam is very conservative when it comes to running, hell most the time he goes down when the closest defender is a good 3 yards away.  He'll be fine doing it the way he does it unless some jackass takes a cheap shot, and you can't avoid those no matter how you slide.

I agree he is very conservative..but looking at the last 2 games it looks like people are taking good shots at him on the ground because they can do it without being flagged.  I think if he is going to take the hit might as well get the flag for it.

With the condition of the field tonight, I'm glad Cam didn't slide the "traditional" way. Sliding forwards, he could have gotten his foot caught in a mole hole or exposed sprinkler head, ripping his ACL.

yep, this was my concern as well. way too easy to get a cleat caught in the turf as you're sliding in and roll a knee up under your body.

the fact is any time you're sliding/diving/dropping to the ground like a tranquilized giraffe in front of defenders you're putting yourself at risk. cam is just as likely to take a shot to the helmet as he is jacking up a knee. it's part of the game, you just minimize the risk to the best of your ability. so far cam seems to be doing a pretty good job of it.
