Cam and 1st downs

Everyone know that the apex of maturity is "But... but... he did it first!!!"

Please, go on with you compelling self righteous testimony on what is and is not a sign of maturity.

You have so much credibility on the subject right now.

guess i cant have alitte fun a fight fire with fire huh. get a life

i just dont think its necessary. i love Cam and i want him to have fun. but its no point of celebrating a 1st down if the drive doesnt end in a touchdown.

Maybe Cam has the attitude that EVERY drive is going to end in a touchdown.

Fug that kind of attitude, he needs to behave more like Matt Schaub.

so glad my thread has made it 13 pages

So sad that there are people like you who waste their whole afternoon whining like a moron on an INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD about as pointless of a topic as a player's harmless first down celebration. About 75% of this thread is just of your drivel.

I don't have a problem with it if he has a great scramble, but doing it after a QB sneak is just silly. I don't see DeAngelo or Tolbert going out of their way to do a scripted first down celebration.

Bitch #2 who obviously hasn't been watching Tolbert very closely.

Have you been noticing Tolbert "brush himself off" after every nice run lately?

No?  Why not?  You seem to have goo-goo eyes for Cam.

Yes?  If so, what's the difference?

for the last time a QB does not equal RB, WR, DL, LB, S, CB

a qb is the face of the franchise. he has more things to be focused on then pointing after first down.

i just dont think its necessary. i love Cam and i want him to have fun. but its no point of celebrating a 1st down if the drive doesnt end in a touchdown. he is our franchise quarterback so comparing him to what a receiver does doesnt make sense. like i said celebration for touch idc but a first down just isnt worth it to me

I'm not about to read eleven more pages of mostly wordpoo to see of this has been pointed out already, so let me get this straight.  You're saying it would be OK to celebrate a first down if it resulted in a TD drive?  Example: It 's 3rd and twenty from deep in Panther territory and the pocket collapses, but Cam scrambles for 25 yards and a first.  He is now supposed to use his Superman ESP or something to look ahead three to five minutes and foresee a touchdown before he can point downfield in celebration?  Talk about not making any sense.  And it doesn't matter if it's worth it to you.  It matters because it is something Cam enjoys that keeps him pumped up and wanting more.  Most of the crowd where I sit gets a kick out of it, and that's in the wine and cheese section (the cheap corner part though).  They love Tolbert's dancing too.

Edit:   PS - Better call the announcer at BoA and tell him to quit trying to get the crowd to participate in celebrating EVERY first down.

Ive been watching Espn all day long. Cam is getting alot of praise for his maturity and his dedication to preparation. However multiple people have brung up his 1st down celebration pose( skip bayless, steven A, Herm edwards, etc). I love Cam to death, thats my quarterback but i do not like the first down pose at all, never have and never will. the pose just rubs me the wrong way and im always like why are you doing that now its just a first. I really want him to stop. wanted to know what the huddle thought about this.

P.S  The Superman Celebration its totally deserved for touchdowns

Are they tired of Colin kissing his Biceps? Luck and his annoying ass facial expressions and inability to speak clearly during his press conferences? How about RG III's arrogance? This ish with dislike every ish Cam does is getting out of hand. The picking apart of this kid is getting ridiculous. This is not the 1800's.

I'm tired of ESPN/NFLN and their puppets picking the pimple off Cam's ass and having a problem with it. I'm sure they won't stop thou.

    • He's handing off play calling duties to fuging Brad Idzik as well so, either that mouth breather can run the playbook and Canales can grow as an all around head coach or it will be a horrible decision and both of them and BY can screw off. I'm fine with that as long as it isn't just another excuse for BY to get another year with another coach worthy of working around his limitations as a qb.
    • Not only for Andersen but the whole team, having not beat the Habs this season before tonite.  Shows them that they aren't jinxed.
    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
