Is it Free?

---- No. It is $20 and can be paid through paypal or mailing a check. pm for details. The reason for the $20 is twofold, one it gives you a reason to play all the way through the season and two, it gives you a reason to play all the way through the end of the season. Nothing worse than having the guy you are neck and neck with in a playoff race go against a guy that hasn't adjusted his roster since September. Please make the commitment to play through the season!

How do I sign up?

--- make a comment in the "up and running" thread that you want a team and then pm myself or carpanfan96 with your email address so that we can send team invite. In that team invite will be instructions to send payment, please get it in promptly.

How can you have 48 teams?

--- this is a "mega-league" that is essentially four leagues (we call them "conferences") of 12 teams each. Each Conference will have their own draft from the entire pool of NFL players so when we get into playoffs there is the possibility that teams will face each other with one or more of the same players on their roster. Surprisingly this has not happened that often and when it does throws a pretty neat strategical twist into that particular matchup. There are three divisions per conference of four teams each. Each division will play each other twice (6 games) and then play 6 more random conference games for a 12 game regular season. Then each division winner plus ONE wildcard from each conference moves on to the playoffs in weeks 13-16.

When is the draft?

--- this is our third year and we have found it best to have drafts as close to the start of the season as possible. Each conference will have their own stickified thread for trash talking and draft management and to vote on the day/timing of the draft. After that is set we often will move a team from one conference to another in order to ensure that everyone has a chance to prepare for a live draft. In case you do not have that opportunity however this site does a very good job of not only allowing you to rank players but allowing you to rank the order of which position you want drafted in what order. In other words....no excuses!!

When will we know the schedule?

--- The schedule, like many other aspects of the next few weeks will depend on how quickly we can get all the teams assigned and paid for. Every year we have guys sign up but never bother to pay so the waiting list guys are very valuable. If we go to the wire on payments (August 12th deadline) the schedule will be available by August 14th.

What kind of scoring do you have?

--- That is all available to view on the site. We are discussing some minor tweaks but nothing will be altered after August 12th, which is also the deadline for payment.

Who is the commissioner?

--- Duek and I have been in the past with help from HMSMike during draft week. We will probably ask Mike to help out again if he is able. But this season was in jeopardy until Carpanfan96 stepped up so he will be the front man during the season. I am doing a lot of the work now just because I handle the paypal and buying the league but please direct questions during the season to carpanfan96

I signed up but haven't gotten a team invite?

--- if you are a returning player pm us right away. If you are a new player we have your spot reserved, just not the specific team yet. If you are on the list in the "Up & Running" thread you will have a team by Sunday afternoon.

Why are you bugging us about payment so much?

--- because so much of what needs to be done depends on getting everyone paid up. I can't generate the schedule or plan drafts until all teams are assigned and paid for. If you want to mail me a check and post date it, I don't care, just get that payment in. Remember, anyone not paid up by August 12th will be taken off their franchise.

more questions/answers as they come up.

So what's the payout?

Don't know the exact amount of the kitty but it will be very close to $762 where it has been the last two years. This if figured by 48 teams times $20 = $960 less the $160 it cost to buy the league from the site less the cost of paypal fees. So the final # is determined by how many people pay with paypal.

Each of the four semi-final teams earns $100 each. Both the final teams earn another $100 each and the winner gets the $162 (+/-) balance....so;

winner = $362

second = $200

third & fourth = $100

these amounts are paid via paypal (hopefully) as soon as they are earned.

JR asked a good question in another thread. Lots of customizing you can do to your team and your page.

I usually set my lineups and do FF research at work and those pics make it difficult to navigate around while at work. Any suggestions? Maybe I should just bookmark a page in the league that is beyond the first page? Would I miss anything if I don't pull up the front page ever?

go to the "customize page" link in upper right next to "help center" link. From their you will see a list of features on the left that you can add to your page and the "default" list of reports that are currently showing on your page. Note that there are TWO COLUMNS so it is important that you keep that in mind when you add or subtract reports from either the smaller column or the larger column.

In your case JR, scroll to the bottom of the current view and "remove" the "League Standings Report"i (in the default mode this takes up the entire second column .... Then you need to go to the Available Modules and select "Brief League Standings Report", click save and enjoy your gayness. Lots of other stuff to play with also.

OK, so if I'm reading this right, it's basically 4 teams per conference get to draft 15 players from the same pool?

Better to think of it as four fantasy football "leagues" (we call them conferences) OF 12 TEAMS EACH, where the top guys (4) from each conference advance to a 16 team do or die, four week playoff. There is no payoff for winning your conference, you have to come through in the playoffs.

So, each conference of 12 teams picks their 15 players from the entire NFL pool and spend 12 weeks playing each other (with two double-header weeks). Each conference is divided into three Divisions of four teams each. The 14 game schedule allows each team to play their division mates twice and the rest of the conference teams once. After the regular season each division winner plus one conference wildcard advance to the playoffs (16 teams).

In the playoffs there is the very real possibility that two guys with Tom Brady (for instance) will square off against each other. In the past years this has not been a huge issue and actually adds some interesting strategy to the matchups when you have an identical player.

Of course, this is all determined on us getting 48 guys paid up which hasn't happened yet. If you know anyone that wants to play sign 'em up!

This is the deal that gives me the biggest headache on the site so keep that in mind and if you spot any problems during the season be sure to let me know.

I have it set up to treat Waived players differently from Free Agents. Waived players are seen as those players recently dropped from other teams. To make it fair to all, waived players are offered to other teams on a Waiver Request that is ranked worst to first (overall winning %, head/head, total points, and so on).

Waiver requests on dropped players are rewarded three days after the player is dropped at 3am and are done so automatically EXCEPT during games.

Keep in mind that every other player is FCFS. If a player is not on a roster (or has never been on one) he is fair game and can be picked up at any time!

I don't know about MFL...but usually there are a bunch of problems associated with getting points assigned to people correctly when D/ST TDs occur. But they usually have it fixed by Tuesday (ESPN/Yahoo) in other sites. Case in point...one year when someone kicked a very long FG...Hester returned it for a TD...took a while for the system to register he got the TD...AND Chicago D/ST got credit too.

    • That's my biggest concern with making him the 2C.  You split up the Aho Jarvis bromance that accounted for a lot of points.  If Jarvis excels as a C, it could help the team even more though.
    • The Saints being that high is the one that killed me. Chris Olave might not know his name at this point, Shaheed is coming off injury as well, so 31 year old Brandin Cooks might be your best WR...coming off a 260 yard season over 10 games. Kamara is Kamara, but didn't have 1,000 yards last year and is about to turn 30.  Toss in the fact that Taysom Hill may be the best QB on the team and I truly don't understand Barnwell's thoughts beside seeing the names "Olave" and "Kamara" and going yep, that sounds better than "Chuba" and "Thielen".
    • Now now now, I wouldn't say there is no logic, but there's just not a lot of in-depth thought put into Barnwell's  "analysis." Now to be fair to him (and other national writers), pre-season team rankings are basically clickbait. And...Barnwell, himself, said that "there's a lot of projection here." He basically admits that he doesn't know how the hell things are going to turn out with our receiver group. He also said that "I find myself" more intrigued by Coker than Legette; that does not mean that he said that fans should be, or that Coker will even be better than Legette (regardless of ESPN's per-route-run stat). So, yeah, Barnwell said some things, but even he has to basically admit that he doesn't know how bad or good that our playmakers will be in 2025.  Overall, what Barnwell is basically thinking is that the Panthers have gotten worse at the offensive skill positions, and baked into that is that others have gotten better. That's the argument in July (meaning, please don't give this any more weight than it's due). I would personally be surprised (not shocked) if we end up worse than the Titans, Pats and Giants at least. Once you throw in the Bills, Giants, Jets, Steelers, and even the Chargers, I personally think there are several teams' skill groups that may end up ranked lower than ours by the end of 2025.  @kungfoodudeis one of my dudes, but like others he is over the tipping point. He's had enough. Seeing is believing. I will say this though: Barnwell's piece is less about logic than just good ol' opinion. And to be honest, he might as well be a Huddler throwing out sh¡t in the summer based upon nothing but good feels or bad feels.  Our offense as a whole (just like any other team's) is going to depend upon the play of the O-line and especially the QB. How you can even rank the skill positions without expressly baking those two things in the cake is beyond me. I would dare say that that's not even logical.
