DRAFT SPECULATION/NEWS THREAD

Randle had 20 points and 14 rebounds tonight, he is a Beast.

Admitted I haven't watched much Randle but it seems to me the reason he is so dominant is because he just out muscles people which won't work as well in the nba. Does he have an actual polished offensive game or he is just straight brute force? Also he doesn't look that tall to me maybe 6'8'' is he taller than that and if not is he a Blake level athlete to make up for being short(by NBA pf standards)?

He is 6'9 248 with a  6'11 wingspan, I don't think he is undersized at all, I am not sure about his jump shot but he is good at ft's so I could see him developing one.

Such a stacked draft if everyone comes out. 3 firsts would be great. Now to secure a top 5 pick. Imagine getting #1 pick in this draft...damn. I bet we win just enough to miss out on the top tier players by picking 8 or later.

It looks like we are going to make the playoffs, if Detroit goes on a slide we may only have the late first from Portland..

Listen to yourselves....lol.

I want to win.  We need to win.  If we're trying to put ourselves in a situation where we can attract FA's it helps to be good going into the rebrand season.  We'll still have opportunities to draft some good players.  Right now Al Jefferson is playing at an all star level and our team is showing growth.  Why should we stunt their growth and hurt their futures just to place our faith blindly into a couple of rookies?  College ball is full of paper lions.

The best way to build a team is through steady progression.  The teams that are successful are teams that have been together and have developed cohesiveness.  Theoretically if we tanked this year, and drafted several high draft picks it would still take a couple of years for them to develop.  It's not like we tank and we're in the finals next year.  I don't feel like waiting around 3 to 4 years before we're any good.  Life is short, time's not guaranteed.

The biggest thing is out of the top 10 picks in the last 10 drafts how many are actually superstar game changing type players maybe 2 or 3 in the top 10 every year or heck sometimes just 1 . We have no luck in the lottery if were gonna hit on a guy it needs to be the 10 -15  guy and have him pan out.

If we keep winning, is there a chance that Lebron or Melo will come here?

    • It is hard to win in the NFL. I’m never going to put an * next to a Dub.
    • We had a very favorable matchup our o-line manhandles theirs. Even Etienne looked like he would have had a great game on his limited rushing opportunities.
    • I think that's part of the problem, he's spreading the ball around too much, many of them are the first read play calls, and on top of that, a large portion of them are purposefully called screens or other short passes. I just looked, the Cardinals are the only other team in the league right now without at least 3 players with 100+ yards receiving so far this year, with the majority of teams having 4 or more.  And even then, their #2 right now is McBride with over 200 yards. Our 2nd leading receiver this year has 108 yards (albeit with 4 more players with 82 or more). On the surface, that might not be as alarming as you might think, but when you add into it that Bryce is currently 6th in the league in pass attempts, and it's even more alarming that he hasn't gotten a 3rd player to 100 yards so far and his second highest is only 108. XL has 39 yards on 18 targets.  Renfrow has 82 yards on 24 targets.  Tremble has 87 on 16 targets.  Sanders has 92 on 14 targets. None of those are good enough, so why aren't we calling more plays with T-Mac as the first read and forcing the ball to him (and again, that's not me wanting my guy to get more targets, that's me wanting more targets for the only productive pass catcher so far this year, I'd feel the same no matter what that player's name was). All of this is why I have issues with Canales' play calling.  How do you have a player who had 73 yards in the first half and then you only give him 1 target in the 2nd half despite playing from behind the majority of that time? You can be happy about the win, happy about Dowdle getting 200 yards, but in a game where your QB threw it 30 times, I can't accept the above sentence in the same breath, that's just terrible play calling, which is on top of the already predictable play calling in general, which is also on top of boring play designs as well. Add it all up, and THAT is why I'm unhappy even after a win, not because "my guy" didn't have a bigger game.
