CJ getting MRI - fingers crossed

The fact that he was cleared to go back in the game gives me hope.  If he was cleared to go back in the game, then the trainers didn't find any instability in the knee.  If he tore his ACL, there would be instability.  If he fully tore his MCL, there would be instability.  When I did a grade two MCL tear in my right knee last year there was some instability present.  If there's no instability, there's probably no significant ligament damage.  The biggest thing they're probably looking at on the MRI is the meniscus and even if there's damage there, that can usually be taken care of through minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery.  Fingers crossed, but coming from a guy who has had plenty of knee issues in the past, I think even the worst case scenario isn't that bad.

Again, total speculation here, but when I tore my MCL it was a grade two tear with a bruised meniscus.  It would've probably caused me to miss two weeks.  Crazy painful for 3-4 days, but after that it healed remarkably quickly.  An NFL player whose body is in great shape with access to the best sports medicine possible might not miss any time for the injury that I had.
