Killer RB's

Dubcnn: With the current Michael Vick situation, is there any room for him in Carolina?

Nope, none at all. We have Jake Delhomme and Josh McCown, and with those guys, we have a lot of talent.

Oh, he didn't mention Moore! Controversy!

Dubcnn: Of those five, who do you think that you most resemble in the way you play your game?

Probably Earl Campbell… He is big like me, fast and a little bit nasty. However, when I run, I always try to portray Walter Payton in my effort as a Running Back. It looked effortless, but he displayed a dedication to not get tackled, and that's how I think every Running Back should play.

Love that he says "A little bit nasty".. I remember hearing somewhere (forget where) that off the field he's the nicest guy you'll ever meet, but on the field, he's looking to take your head off... Got to love players who have passion and the never die attitude.

Also, can't go wrong with "always try to portray Walter Payton in my effort as a Running Back."

I'm so ready for the season to start! :biggrin5:

Fact is, Vick won't be here... Whatever the reason, and I think every reason holds up in an argument... Vick won't be here. Just that simple.

Vick will never be here, if only for the simple fact that the fans would not want him here. Vick was our personal kryptonite for 4 years. You don't go through the ordeal of one man single-handedly beating you several times and then invite into your team.

Unless you're the Vikings that is...

Do you guys remember when he showed up for TC last summer but he wasn't signed at the time so he could not join his teamates in the dorms at Wofford?

He had to rent a cheap motel room and charge it to his credit card.

I bet he could buy that motel today!! :D

    • Its really wild to watch this part of the community boil down the success of the 2025 Panthers to whether or not BY9 busts or breaks out. Ill take middle of the road mistake free game manager that distributes the ball and orchestrates the offense.  If we can get that with a D that doesnt put us in a 27 point+ hole every week the team can improve. Id love a deep post season run but honestly at this point Id be ecstatic about feeling like we could win every week.   Jake is never going to get a yellow jacket but damn if he didnt make watching the team fun.     eta: I think too many people are looking for an I told you so moment over their pre-draft "evaluation" of Bryce
    • I consider last year Bryce's rookie year.....and I expect some regression/D adjustment in his second season in Canales' O.  Film is film.   So yeah, I agree....he won't be the dude that opened up the year week 1 or closed the door week 17.  We will get some dude in between it all most likely.  Which IMO puts us in a really awkward no man's land with Bryce.
    • The question is which Bryce shows up game 1. Do we get week 2 (2024) Bryce, or week 18 (2024) Bryce?  I will say that his progression after the benching last year was amazing. He literally got better every game - sans Dallas. Like every week he did something we hadn't seen him do before. And it wasn't luck, toss it up for grabs plays like Penix did against Carolina. Penix was just throwing the ball as hard as he could in the direction of a receiver and hoping they'd make a play for him. What we saw from Bryce was different. Decision making, reading defenses, recognizing blitzes and where they were coming from, knowing his hot, avoiding pressure and manipulating the pocket, throwing with anticipation, taking shots downfield, and running the ball surprisingly well. Stats don't always tell the story. Did he miss some throws that he should have made - sure did. But the clutch gene is strong with this one. One score game and Carolina has the ball with 2 minutes on the clock - I'm confident he'll give them a chance to win more than he doesn't.
