T.D Lined Up As DE, But Dropped Back For The INT

When I posted that Seattle article on how they beat Saints, everybody kept talking about their corners. But the article was focused on Seattle d-line and linebackers play that lead them to dominance, not their corners

And guess what... d-lineman dropping into coverage was one of the things they did to confuse and disrupt Brees

fantastic call.  I saw that TD was lined up in a 3-point and didn't think a lot of it.  Great play - show him as a DL, bring Kuechly, so gotta get the ball out fast, right at TD.

Saw CJ was deep in coverage at one point.  Seeing it of course means he got picked on, but you can't win them all

i noticed CJ dropping into the flats a couple times... a good throw from brees to jimmy graham negated it on one play

good to see us switching stuff up though, it takes a hell of a good scheme to trick drew brees, and it happened numerous times today.

Drew Brees can't see because of his height at times, so a lot of his throws are thrown where players are SUPPOSED to be. Exactly what happened there. That's why you see him trying to stretch his neck like a giraffe to try and see over the linemen, or he'll have a twenty step dropback to try and get a better view.

    • I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.
    • Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.
    • Only way Canales is fired is if we are attrocious everywhere....  defense /special teams and offense..  There are enough "questions" on if BY9 is the guy that ownership wouldn't fire the coach for "just" mid qb play.  Especially with as talented a roster that has played "well enough" to win some tough football games and hang in there against the top tier of the NFL ...(mostly).   Now total team suckage..yeah .. but I don't see that happening.
