This is part of the problem with sports journalism; articles about reporters. You wonder why personalities like Peter King are so omnipresent? Because their reporting gets as much attention as what they report.

 

There's too damn much opinion in sports journalism, which logically leads to differences in opinions, which leads to poo-flinging articles between reporters, which leads to people paying attention to reporters, which leads to reporters not being reporters anymore, and becoming "personalities," amongst which Peter King is one of the most well-known influential.

 

You want to defang these idiots? Stop engaging them. You don't leave flaming comments at the politics beat reporter at the Boston Globe for his opinions on Filibuster reform. So stop retweeting him, stop writing articles about him, stop flaming him in the comments section. He's just a sports fan with an opinion like everyone else at this point, and you should regard him as such and give him as much attention as you give a message board troll everywhere else.

His opinion may be as educated as a common sports fan but his power in the industry can keep people out of the MVP race and off the HOF ballot. This is the only reason the media matters to me. They are the gate keepers to Cam's legacy.

Did Peter King slam Matt Stafford after he actually did throw the Lions season away?

 

Yeah this is the thing. The biggest failure story yesterday was Matt Stafford with a talented offense and defense losing to the Giants at home. But not to King.

 

Over the past several years Sam Bradford has been praised or overlooked in St. Louis. He's a number 1 overall pick of a franchise that has accomplished nothing in his tenure. But you don't see King stories about Bradford falling short of expectations.

 

We drafted Cam no.1 but it wasn't to beat Hall of Fame QBs in his third season. You never go up against a Brees or Manning or Brady and put those expectations on a third year guy. Yeah you want to win but a loss doesn't label someone a bust. I'm just glad to see the internet recognizes PK for what he is.
