Pretty much what it is, is Vick's skill set is pretty much extraneous and people will only use him for a specialized formation, such as wildcat. Miami would be a hot pick for him but they already drafted Pat White.

Some teams have really big question marks at QB, however Vick has been removed from football for two seasons and there is going to be some rust, plus since he'll be suspended hurts his chances at landing a starting job at all.

My guess is he'll go into the season unsigned, until some team's starting QB goes down for the season and they'll take a chance on him, (for a very low price tag BTW). Unless he decides to go play in the UFL at that point.

Raiders. Al Davis loves people who are athletically gifted, but can't play football. If they are a trainwreck, that's even better.

I thought about Oakland instead of Denver as the choice for that very reason but they have a Quarterback controversy between Garcia & Russell while Denver a bunch of rejects from other teams.

I think this comes down more to ownership than team need. Deserved or not, Vick will be a lightning rod for controversy all year. Teams like the Pats may have a need, but I suspect won't be willing to take on the headache. The only two owners I can think of that don't care are Al Davis and Jerry Jones. As mentioned, Oakland already has a Vick in Russell, but I can see ol' Al just trying to find any reason to go after him. I can see either one of them giving him a try. More reason to want to thump the cowgirls.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
