Cam Newton 2014 Pro-Bowl

Carolina coach Ron Rivera, who is coaching against Newton in Sunday's Pro Bowl, said earlier this year that the 2012 Pro Bowl week wasn't a good experience for Newton. From what he's seen so far, this one has been much better.

"Very much so,'' Rivera said by phone. "From what I understand he is very more sure of himself. He went [the first time] as a rookie sensation. I think there were some people that didn't appreciate that. He got a lot of attention, and he gets a lot of attention around here.

Does anybody else still get annoyed about that pro-bowl? ^^ I really think Rivera hit it on the head. Then you got Prisco and his cowardly "unnamed" sources

Still mad enough to think Cam should never attend a future Pro Bowl.

Not interested in watching this years Pro Bowl but will ck in to see if Cam is treated like shyt by his peers and rushed as he was during his rookie campaign in that joke of an exhibition in 2011.

Time for all Panthers to take a nod from the 49ers and have something better to do if our Franchise is in anyway threatened during this BS in Hawaii.

    • I don't know. CMC is like others and may have lip serviced that line of " I had no plan or wanted to leave Carolina" I think he even said he bought a house too and wanted this to be home.   Here's what I heard- In a way Panthers org gave him a test and he didn't "fight" back. They approached CMC and told him they wanted to put him on IR since the "season" was over or out of playoff reach. CMC didn't fight it one lick and agreed. They secretly wanted him to kept playing or want to, but there was no kickback. I honestly don't know if its real or not, 5th hand information type deal doing on. Yes he had bruises and pains, but was able to play...... but went along with Panthers staff. Odd to be playing games with star players, but whatever....   Plus the staff doctors found out about his tendinitis and there was nothing to fix it. Even with him missing time, it was the best move to trade him before he got inflamed constantly.    Lastly, its mostly time a combo of stuff, Fitterererere did not sign him to be the highest paid RB. That was classic Marty "give me a" herniay doing. GMs have different values on roster spots and rumor was Fitterererer was one that didn't want to pay RBs. For all his faults, he's right about that......
    • I think google is confusing signing bonus with guaranteed money. If you get a guarantee of say $10 million, it doesn’t matter if the signing bonus is $5 or $8 million, it’s the $10 million number that affects the cap, as the signing bonus is always just a portion of the guaranteed money anyways. And again, I’ll admit I’m not 100% sure about it, but I’m pretty sure it is the case.
