10 Things Richard Sherman learned after America learned about him

You were right about one and only one thing in that post, apples to oranges. You cant compare the emotions of an 8 year old vs a 20 something year old after a game and then on top of that, you cant compare the emotions of an 8 year olds soccer match(which im shocked to learn there was a score kept) vs someone who not only just beat a team he doesnt like, but did it to go to the Super Bowl.

Richard Sherman is a fiery dude as it is playing one of the most physical spots on the field. Period. Stick a mic in his face MOMENTS after one of the biggest games in his life after the opposing team had been jawing at him ALL DAMN GAME and you will get a heated response. This can happen to even the most level headed athletes. Its why i made the comment I did about those who haven't played organized sports. If you have, you would understand where he is coming from. Spend an hour plus, battling against a team you dislike, who is showing you ZERO respect and you happen to be the one that makes the game ending play? Yea, 9 out of 10 athletes act JUST like Sherman did.

You are correct that you can't compare them. But what is sad is that you expect more professionalism from the 8 yo than the 25 yo.

When did the 49ers show him zero respect?

And the reason this is a big story is because this DOESNT happen that often.  Most players have more composure than that, especially highly intelligent guys like Sherman.  I would use the age old adage "act like you've been there before" but Sherman hasn't so I guess that excuses his out burst.

I'm not saying he was wrong, of course its ok to be excited and yell and scream.  But when someone puts a mic in your face you have to keep it together so you don't look like a fool, which he did.  I just wish he'd own up to it, which he kinda did, except that he got upset when people called him a thug, which I in no way think he is, but he has to understand that people are dumb and will perceive you in the whatever way they see fit.

    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix had only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
