Maybe so but for the first time ever, I am going into the season as an optimist and not the typical Philly pessimist. Every team has question marks going into the season. Just a hunch but I like our chances better than any other year for some reason. Maybe because I can't think of any NFC teams that should be better than the Eagles going into the season. Panthers should be their biggest NFC competition if they can survive what looks to be a brutal regular season schedule though.

Of course it really is all irrelevant until the season starts. The Cardinals of last year and the Giants from the year before proved that.

You have no reason not to think this and we don't either, but you're right, it's gonna be brutal for both teams...

Heard a recent radio interview with Eagle RDE Trent Cole. When asked about opening the season against the Panthers running game, he responded....NO PROBLEM.

It'd be nice to get a copy of the tape to the OL for their listening pleasure.

If Deangelo and Stewart put as much effort into their off-season workouts as they did last year - then I like our chances. I've rewatched a few of our late season games from last year and those guys were clicking.

Honestly i just went and looked back at the eagles opening day records(since andy reid has been the coach) and they are VERY good. I was going to make a topic about it but i accidentally lost it all by going to a different page without saving.

They absolutely destroy any crappy teams and they lose close ones to good teams or beat good teams.

The eagles have the potential to really spank us. But i think our running game will be able to take care of them, we finally have a running game that we can use whenever we want. It's not like we will put up 200 yards on them, but we should be able to run effectively.

I think this season we will finally be a consensus pick for an elite unstoppable ground game.

But it is going to be TOUGH!!!!!

      Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.

      I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.

      Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
