Bobcats Deadline Shopping List

Turner and Gibson is the splash-ier move.. Turner and Jimmer is the smarter/cheaper move

Ehh, good summary, but I think its more that Jimmer/Turner is the higher risk/higher reward combo, whereas Turner/Gibson is the more costly combo, but you have a much, much higher floor there.

I'd like either deal, but getting Gibson is appealing because if Clifford is going to continue to refuse to play Cody, i'd much rather watch Gibson over McBob, and he brings a lot more to the table.

BUT, as I said in the other thread IIRC, a Jimmer/Turner combo is what I prefer financially - and as you said, is the smarter move from that perspective. They're still on their rookie deals, so at the end of the year, we decide what we want to do with them versus taking on contracts that other teams valued the more veteran players at.

Guest Dark Knight

After that little fiasco Mayo pulled at Jordan's camp I doubt MJ wants him. He's a chucker anyway.

It's starting to look like Cho stockpiled those draft picks as trade assets & never intended to keep them. I could see him dealing one of them before the draft if nothing falls thru before the deadline.

Jimmer plays 10-11 minutes a game. McLemore, Thorton, McCallum and Isiah Thomas are all jocking for playing time. Jimmer get barely any of it. There is no way Cho gives up anything of value to get Jimmer. He could be had for a mere 2nd round pick.

.475 from beyond the arch for a mere 2nd rounder is a steal IMO. Even if he can't play a lick of D- just knock down 3-4 a game off the bench and we will be much improved from DEAD LAST in the league from 3pt range!!!

I hope not, we will end up with only a second rounder.

    • Look, I've been pounding on the Canales shouldn't be calling the offensive plays thing since last year. He's first off, not very versatile and makes Ron Rivera look like a master of mid-game adjustments. Also, because I think you really, really need to be calling the offensive plays from the booth with a better view of the whole field.  A coach on the field cannot grasp how the opposing sideline WR is doing in coverage while also checking the two receivers on his side, plus keep up with how the line is doing and if the RB is in the groove. Heck, for the line alone he doesn't have the best view of where the RB is going to see success and how to best exploit it. Hence Rico saying, Yo coach, keep running this.  Still, all these things in there, no matter how hard I'm banging on that drum, I can't let it drown out my joy in getting one of those rare Ws. Even coaches can learn and grow from them. I sure hope he will.
    • I fully understand the questioning of Dave and BY, just the timing of your concerns is my problem. NFL is ultra hard to pull off the perfect game. In all my years Ive never seen a HC have the perfect game plan and have great play call after great play call.  Tmac has helped in every game, honestly more than I thought he was going to show. It does look like he was in fact the reason to trade AT and allow Tamc to feast on his targets. I have re-watched the wins, I have seen Tmac get red zone looks. Brother, he's about the 80-90% of passing attack. Dave is young inexperienced HC and he's learning on the job, hope he improves along with BYs confidence.    Its going to be alllllll right, trust me as your co-pilot.
    • You cannot hate his character, but he is holding the team back. There is so much we can't do because of his limitations. It just is what it is
