Phils get Cliff Lee/Francisco

Johnny Rockets

Not quite Hallady but we didn't have to give up nearly as much either....initial thought is that I really love this deal. That is alot of left handed pitching in this rotation now. I don't know why but I like Francisco and have been waiting for him to break out. Hopefully he does just that with the Phils.

Sources told MLB.com the Phillies and Indians have reached an agreement that would send Lee and outfielder Ben Francisco to the Phillies for right-handers Jason Knapp and Carlos Carrasco, shortstop Jason Donald and catcher Lou Marson.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Hammels is struggling mightly, as a lifelong Braves fan it pains me but the NL will be won by LA or STL noone else will be able to hang with them.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Hamels is not struggling as bad as you might suggest. He started off the year horribly by getting injured twice I believe in freak accidents. I think his ERA in April was in the mid teens. Since then he has been very solid and I think he will really begin to get into form now that he doesn't have the pressure of being the only ace. I'll take Lee and Hamels as a 1-2 in the playoffs all day long especially with that offense to support them. As far as LA and STL, they are good (especially STL) but I don't see why you think they are so elite. I guess we will see when the dust settles.

So does this mean Halladay stays put?

I thought Philly was the only logical place?

Somewhere out west now?

Saint Lou? Christ, please not Saint Lou.

If they trade him to a division rival like ESPN is suggesting may happen (Red Sox or maybe Yanks), they should pull baseball out of Canada. I hate that so many small market teams are even allowed to throw in the towel like this each year. The Pirates especially are a disgrace to baseball. (sorry Bubbadawg)

    • I dont think people realize how hard it is to find a consistent starting QB in the NFL. Byrce will not heart us to a SB but I do think he can manage to get us one or close..go all in on defense and change the Offensive passing game and play calls. I really think our biggest problem is our HC.  Take New Orleans QB for example, switch him and Bryce and I promise you it'll look similar or worse. New Orleans OC is levels ahead of Canales. And as far as the draft goes, in this division with as much rb talent as we face ..the answer...this guy:    Pick up a couple edge rushers in FA along with a corner and plug this guy in Rozeboom's spot. Defense solved. But only if we get a top tier rusher on that dline....jus saying
    • I think I'm going to the game in Los Angeles vs Paraguay, and the England / Croatia game here in Dallas since my mom is British.  For decent seats anywhere in the building(s) it looks like it will be upwards of $7k for the two games.  Insane. Just for perspective, you could buy field level EPL tickets for any one of the top sides in the league, and it would be 10% of the price you'll pay for crappy seats at the World Cup.
    • Meh… I knew this thread would turn into a Bryce/Tua comparison, when they couldn’t be further apart situations.   Dolphins catered there whole offense toward Tua, they brought in a coach that would run a Tua friendly offense, the went in got the best most explosive WR in the NFL and paired him the fastest WR in that years draft. Panthers have done the opposite, they went and got a Pete Carroll disciple who likes to run the ball under center, they drafted big slow WR who got little separation in college. Literally the polar opposite of Bryce’s scouting report coming out of Alabama.   Tua was a decent QB 2 years ago, but the concussions, lack of movement have caught up to him. He never had a great arm to begin with but now since he doesn’t want to get hit he’s taking the whole offense down with him.
