I thought the idea was to go cheaper, and younger?

 

Boldin is a pipe dream. He likely isn't leaving San Francisco, but wherever he ends up, he's going to be making even more money.

The idea is to have a nice combination of veteran talent and leadership mixed with a young upcoming core.  More importantly the idea is to win.

 

I'm not saying we're going to go after Boldin...but I hope we do.

 

Smith is a good player but he's diminishing fast....taking a diminished role and pay cut is his best chance to win a ring.

Most of our team is overpaid but I do not see you calling them out. Sometime the value of a player goes beyond stats/The bottom line we are a much better team with Steve Smith and until that changes yes he is worth it.

 

I think I've called a lot of ridiculous contracts out in previous threads.  I'm actually saying that Smith's current uncertain status with the Panther's is a product of all the bad contracts Hurney made. It's why he's part of the "evaluation process".
