FA ADDITIONS:

EUGENE MONROE, OT
EUGENEMONROE_zps3793e345.jpg

Rumor has it that the Panthers will try to go after Eugene Monroe in free agency. With the Kraken in placed, this is pretty much the top priority now with the retirement of Jordan Gross. I believe that Monroe will not get anything more than what Jake Long got last year with the Rams (34mil, 8.5/yr). With some more restructuring from key guys, and hopefully a pay cut from Agent 89 an addition of Monroe will happen.

ANDRE ROBERTS, WR
ANDREROBERTS_zps326d0dc0.jpg

Roberts should be available for cheap and will be an upgrade over LaFail. He's a true slot receiver that will help Cam move the chain on 3rd downs.

NOLAN CARROLL, CB
NOLANCARROLL1_zpsb6026aec.jpg

One of my favorite free agent, Carroll is a very underrated corner in this league. He had a solid game vs. the Panthers last season, and will bring good size (6'1) to this secondary. Though, he has some injuries concern. Carroll played the whole season last year while injured.

2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT:

(1) JASON VERRETT, CB, TCU
JASONVERRETT2_zps803ab24c.jpg

Rivera has said that this draft is really deep at wide receivers and defensive secondary. I believe that this draft is deep enough that we can still find a very good receiver in the 2nd round, not the other way around with corner. Jason Verrett proved that he was one of the top prospects in this draft at the combine. Verrett has coverage skills, speed, range, and toughness. He fits what we do on defense and will improve the secondary.

(2) JARVIS LANDRY, WR, LSU

Landry is still one of the top receiver on my board after the combine. He ran a "slow" 40 which scared a lot of people, but is one who plays faster on the field. He possesses solid hands, is one of the better route runners in this class, and a very good blocker down field. I see a lot of Victor Cruz in Landry, but some have compared him to Anquan Boldin.

(3) ROBERT HERRON, WR, WYOMING
ROBERTHERRON1_zpsecb45621.jpg

With the 1st round going toward defense, Gettleman will double dip at receiver consecutively. Robert Herron is a huge "steal" in the 3rd round! A dangerous deep threat that is very similar to Desean Jackson will help open up this offense.

Some of you guys will go nuts on me going "small" in this mock off-season.  Gettleman said he wants touchdown guys, and to me these receivers are just that.

(4) CAMERON FLEMING, OT, STANFORD
CAMERONFLEMING2_zps2aa3bf9d.jpeg

HOGMOLLIE! Fleming is 6'5 and 323 lbs. Started 39 games the last 3 seasons for the Cardinals. Fleming comes from a military family just like Rivera. He's a natural RT and will compete with Bell for the starting job.

(RT #73)

(5) MAX BULLOUGH, LB, MICHIGAN STATE

With Blackburn being cut, Bullough will provide depth at LB. He's a tremendous LB for the Spartans, but saw his stock dropped due to some red flags this season.

(6) BROCK VEREEN, SS, MINNESOTA
BROCKVEREEN_zps26f526e0.jpg

I have Godfrey being a June 1 cut. With that, I believe that Lester will be the starting SS next season. Lester being a rookie last year played in some very big games, and won't be afraid being move into the starting role. Brock Vereen helped his stock at the combine. He is the younger brother of Shane Vereen, the running back of the Patriots.

(7) RICHARD RODGERS, TE, CALIFORNIA
RICHARDRODGERS1_zps3cbef42c.jpg

Richard Rodgers is the son of Richard Rodgers Sr., who is currently on Rivera's coaching staff. Plus, he comes from the same college that Rivera did. Rodgers will provide needed depth at TE if Hartsock is not brought back.

    • It is all confusing and layered. SB is the cash you get very soon within weeks or in simple terms, its what you get to sign the paper work. Players and agents can agree on contract but what to "wait" to sign......teams don't like that cause you can "Carlos Boozer" yourself. In order to get that ink dry, while keeping the contract the same, portion it as a bonus to "sign" and get the funds with ________ .   * But Ive seen worded contracts that split the SB or a 20% to a later date. The beans counters can fill in the details about why certain dates are better and save the team money.. Theres tricks to the trade and accounting is full of them.    Ugh another big layer, is SB can be used to manipulate cap and players. Ill try to give a example that makes enough sense. Believe it or not having a owner like Tepper is a cheat code for this. He has cash in hand, where as Mark Davis had problem making pay roll and had to move the team to Vegas....... Tepper can give you 100,000,000 SB right now and the team can spread out the cap hit. Another owner doesn't have or want to give the player 100,000,000 in cash, but offered the same guaranteed contract in roster bonuses fully guaranteed over the next few years........ Which one do you want??? Everyone wants the money now, not before another inflation waves hits in 2 years. So it does 'pay" to have a owner like tepper that's able to have real cash on hand, while it also works GREAT for cap help. Heres a good video, if you can stand coked up pat and mask look-a-like AJ
    • I don't know. CMC is like others and may have lip serviced that line of " I had no plan or wanted to leave Carolina" I think he even said he bought a house too and wanted this to be home.   Here's what I heard- In a way Panthers org gave him a test and he didn't "fight" back. They approached CMC and told him they wanted to put him on IR since the "season" was over or out of playoff reach. CMC didn't fight it one lick and agreed. They secretly wanted him to kept playing or want to, but there was no kickback. I honestly don't know if its real or not, 5th hand information type deal doing on. Yes he had bruises and pains, but was able to play...... but went along with Panthers staff. Odd to be playing games with star players, but whatever....   Plus the staff doctors found out about his tendinitis and there was nothing to fix it. Even with him missing time, it was the best move to trade him before he got inflamed constantly.    Lastly, its mostly time a combo of stuff, Fitterererere did not sign him to be the highest paid RB. That was classic Marty "give me a" herniay doing. GMs have different values on roster spots and rumor was Fitterererer was one that didn't want to pay RBs. For all his faults, he's right about that......
