Nicks officially a Colt per Schefter

No. Jones is a huge upgrade. He's a sure no2 receiver that could be a no1 for some teams: Carolina.

Not sure why hes still on the market this long.

No he's not, he's maybe a No.2 at best … maybe. If he is who you think he is, he wouldn't be on the market still. Jones is the product of an elite QB with better weapons around him to take the pressure off.

They've been practicing with Cam, it's not like they just got off the bus, got slapped in some pads and then got thrown into the huddle.

We'll have some rookies, but we also have guys that are in the system and they'll all be exciting to watch.

I just hope the Carolina fans dont boo them off the field for wanting to live their dream. It's not fair and I can't wait to see this scoring team start growing as a team again.

Gonna be a loooong offseason for lots of fans.

Are we really suggesting that practice squad/developmental players and rookies can just step onto an NFL field and compete at the highest level because they have been practicing (at a non-contact, practice) with the QB? And God knows how much practicing they did with Cam considering that they weren't starters so I am sure they were catching balls from Anderson rather than Cam.

This is unbelievable. We'll have rookies learning from "vets" that have never caught a pass in the NFL. I don't care if we get the top 2 WRs in the draft, that is a HORRIBLE idea.

And at this point, unless some unknown trade is in the works, the potential FA WRs left we can bring in are more No. 3s and 4s for most playoff teams. So we will have our Rookies learning from untalented "vets."

I think this tells us that Nicks didn't want to come into a situation where he was looked on as "the" guy at receiver.  So he went to a less stressful situation with the Colts, where they have Wayne and Hilton to complement him.  If that's the case, then let him go there.  The problem is who wants to come to Carolina and step up into the lead role?

What scares me, and what should scare all of you, is that Gettleman isn't able to sign guys he wants. He wanted Collins, but let a division rival get him; we've seemingly spent all our time on Nicks and had him in town, but let him go to Indy without a contract. The Bucs and Colts didn't overpay, so you have to wonder why players aren't interested in a 12-4 playoff team with one of the most respected owners and coaching staffs in the league...could it be that our GM has turned them off?

Observer says we didn't make Nicks an offer.

that would likely indicate we didn't want him.

    • It was absolutely a catch, and I can’t believe how many folks were stating, before the NFL’s apology, that the overturn was the right call.  The ultimate question in this case is this: can a player complete a catch with only one hand? Of course, we all know the answer to that question, and it is an emphatic “Yes.” T-Mac maintained complete control with one hand (believe it was the right) while the other came off when the ball hit the ground. The ball was in the same position in the one hand (watch T-Mac’s fingers in relation to the NFL shield on the ball) after touching the ground as it was when it first went to the ground. Going back to the question above, if one hand can establish control, then there was no need for the other to stay on the ball, so long as the ball doesn’t move in that one hand that stays on it   It blew my mind that they overturned this in the first place. This should not be a “We got it wrong on the replay because there wasn’t clear and convincing evidence.” This should have been, “That was absolutely a catch.”
    • Sign him up. I am willing to bet he wouldn't finish a game with -2 yards.
    • He is just fuging limited in every way.  On one hand, and nfl player, you would want to bulk them up so long as it doesn’t limit their mobility, elasticity, flexibility, ROM, or dynamicism - as is the concern with bulking up.  But the issue with that is, you would be worried about that when a guy has those traits to begin with.  Bryce is a very average athlete with a weak arm.  So if you’re not gonna be a great athlete with a strong arm, bulk up.  And if you can’t or won’t bulk up, find another fuging profession that doesn’t require athleticism and arm strength.  You’re built like a bitch AND aren’t a great athlete - you can’t be subpar in both categories…  well, unless you play for the Panthers apparently.
