Hypothetical question draft content*
micnificent28 replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
His talent is borderline generational. He's as fast as Gibbs and 10 pounds heavier. He catches as good as any one and is miles faster than CMC. He's a better pure talent than CMC.. so yeah I would say he's borderline generational -

Edge is the new term for pass rushers. Can be a end or 3-4 backer both their jobs are to get after the qb -

Now why on earth would you set fire to the stadium for drafting a top 5 talent and a better running back than anyone on your roster -

Yeah that’s what they are calling an edge. It is confusing. In the 34 it is OLB. In the 43 it can be DE. I think that’s how they are using the term.

I remember that post. Way back when we took him, I could not figure out how he could see where to throw it. I had this notion that he was spatially super aware and was really just throwing to a spot, and could do a pretty good job of that even if he couldn’t see it. Clock in your head, timed with the receiver, be exactly there at the right time and he will get the ball there. I really never could figure out how it was going to work.

Looks like our beat reporter is already hinting at it.

I would definitely be down with Carolina drafting him in day 3 and using him for sneaks and power packages. That alone would address a flaw from the offense last year.
-
Tush push engaged!
-
We should draft him just for the training camp pictures when he's stood in the huddle next to Young.
-
If the Panthers drafted an RB in the first we should legitimately set fire to the stadium.

6'6 227... We are in the market for a backup QB. I say we get one we can develop not only behind bryce but a guy who can come in day one and mask one of our greatest weaknesses. Those 4th and 1 QB sneaks Bryce isn't able to do because of his size. Not only that with 4.36 speed he becomes a gadget rezone short yardage weapon right away. Not to take Bryce off the field but, having the option to bring this guy in to give us a jolt or trickery in the red zone would be outstanding. He doesn't need to be a first round talent, I just want his legs and arm to threaten the field to give us more options. He should be there from round 4-7 at that price getting day 1 help and a guy who could develop long term I think would be a great value. What say you .

When people say 'Edge' do they mean OLB in a 3-4? Cos to me the biggest glaring need on D is a competent 3-4 DE that actually penetrates the OLine. If Brown doesn't make something happen, nobody else does.

Love got absolutely bodied by the Canes. So no. He's not a generational RB and that's the only reason you'd spend a first round pick on a RB.

Well the good news is this O has a lot of talent. The NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year at WR, for example. -

Very reasonable level headed take and I agree with everything said nice to meet a fellow draftnik. Now of course I am a Panthers fan first but it oozes over to the draft to figure out what players could help the Panthers win a champion. So I'm a fan of players as well. Love has talent that comes around once every 5-10 years I think. I think he's borderline generational I hesitate to say he's generational but I think he's a rare talent -

We gave up the farm to draft this guy. The most 'pro ready' QB in the Draft. We're in year four and people are still making excuses for him. I feel like banging my head against a wall. -

Why is the bar 'Franchise QB'? Just get me a legit NFL starter. That'd be a huge upgrade over Bryce Young. -
Finding consistency especially from our go to scorers has been the key for this team and they are doing that. We are finally away from the selfish hero ball nonsense. But more than that this has been a team that was very unmotivated defensively in the past. They have made significant strides in that area. They also seemed to have learned and been motivated by that loss to the Pistons so that is a great sign. Sitting at 30-31 now it's time to see if they can sustain this to finish the season. Get in the playoffs and anything can happen.

Did you watch the playoffs and the Super Bowl? Balanced team is the pathway to success. Our defense needs a ton of resources.
