I just think it is a little funny that there was some sort of talk about Duke belonged there since they were ACC champs. Wrong sport.

The Case for(or Against) Drafting/Signing a TE
strato replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I neglected the Tepper variable in the Canales factoring. Why we have him. And it isn’t as much because he is Morgan’s buddy as it is we were turned down or just got a ‘not interested’ so many times we had to have Somebody… so Morgan being familiar is a factor yes but only after pretty much all other options were not going to materialize. We don’t even know, it may have been better to get him than the next option at that point. Which turns Dan into getting a save rather than fuging us with hiring his buddy. -
Lol. Yeah, I would also take Minnesota and Seattle's roster and coaching. What kind of absolutely lightspeed insane comparison are you even making? Darnold would have much more visually pleasing and little better or equivalent W/L results in Carolina this season. As bad as Bryce is at dumb dumb TO's, Darnold is in the Winston tier. The people that continue to view him as this QB god are pure football comedy.

No man, he is not bottom third. Please. I saw him choke in the biggest game for Minnesota last year. Sure did. Not blind. But I don’t know that he learned nothing. We may get some clarity on that coming up soon. People usually do incremental improvements rather than putting it all together at once. Or they don’t because they hit their ceiling and can’t improve but that is generally an ability thing. Plus players often learn best from failure, and getting more repetitions where they can apply what they may have learned. I guess I am a less than serious fan because I would take going 12-5, 13-4, and playoffs most years and be satisfied, with no guarantee of a SB championship. Compared to what we have been fed for years, I take that poo all day every day. That is what he is doing. I’ll wait and see how he responds this year because they will be in the playoffs won’t they?

She isn't a victim in the relationship and that's about where the "not a victim" ends. Dude exhibited nutter female behavior. He deserves everything he gets.

The Case for(or Against) Drafting/Signing a TE

Well, I think the answer is pretty clear if you AREN'T the David Tepper Panthers and that is that you move on from Dave Canales. But, if we were able to be in that situation we wouldn't have ever hired such an unqualified and ill suited HC. For us, I would think we just try to improve this roster talent so that when we inevitability move on from Canales that we might be a more attractive option. That's also taking a lot of liberties with assuming Tepper isn't an insanely meddling c*nt like he has been so far and it doesn't remain a bottom 2-3 NFL head coaching job. If that last part never changes, well.....you just sort of accept your lot and try to suffer through the ride until Tepper is no longer here. -
Big opportunity for Nadeau if he gets called up.

I think OL is a pretty low overall concern but every single offseason there should be an attempt to upgrade through the draft. Edge rusher there are no easy answers, IMO. If a truly elite prospect falls to us in the 1st, that is fine. This draft seems to be much more heavy on 3-4 DE's or 4-3 DE's than it is on elite EDGE guys. You just have to keep plugging away every offseason and hope it works out. I don't think it's worth trading a ton of draft capital over at the moment, despite being a crucial roster weakness. Do the best you can and build a better roster and maybe eventually we will be in a position to be making a Parsons level trade. -

I understand that a capable OC is desirable but I also understand, or think I might, the dynamics with the staff and maybe I’m wrong but I do not see Canales firing his offensive right hand guy without significant pressure from Morgan or Tepper to do so. So that, in addition to Canales stating pretty definitively, that he was keeping play calling. I don’t know what you do in that circumstance. It would need to be important enough to you to make it worth firing Canales to get your OC play caller. To that, if Canales not being good so far at play calling (and we only have the one year in TB to factor with what we have see here), is accepted as a given, it is only fair and honest to consider what an impediment having to construct and administer an offense around Bryce Young’s game would be to an OC. I would say it is a big complication, big surprise there. You won’t know about Canales 100% until you remove Bryce from the equation and get him a clean slate to create from - without the Bryce restrictions. And yeah you will likely end up without a top notch high flying offense. But it still *could* be much better than it is now. In the right hands. So that is potentially what we’re looking at. I suppose we could keep Bryce and bring in a college style coach and design a Bryce rollout offense or something and see if that helped. I am not in favor of that, probably the last thing I would want. We could do nothing, which I am not in favor of. We could fire Canales and keep Bryce (my least preferred option). We could get rid of both, which I would begrudgingly accept but would lament the interruption of the continuity that a 3rd year would provide. You could get rid of Bryce and get a couple of new QB prospects in here, vets, drafts, whatever… that would be my choice. I am afraid I know how it’s gonna go. All I can really say about that is, there has not been a single time in three years that I looked at the upcoming game and felt like we were gonna win because we have Bryce Young playing QB. Because of what he could do with the ball in his hands. Not once. Sure there have been a handful of games that he was part of the reason we won, a couple he was a big part, but not enough times to feel like that is my expectation. At best, it is cross your fingers and hope for good Bryce. -

Tremble is leaps and bounds better than Sanders. At this point, there is really no reason to have him even playing significant time. Just put him on special teams/3rd TE and hope he eventually develops. If it doesn't happen by the end of his contract, let him walk. -
Anthony Richardson has tools and size. He was also clearly fuging awful. Darnold chokes without ever even reaching the playoffs. This revisionist history based on one game is utterly laughable. He has gotten better, without question, but he is also a bottom third QB.

Not at all...getting out in front of a professional college football environment.

The dumbest thing I heard from the whole thing was Kyle Bailey on wfnz. " Can we stop calling this young lady the victim she took part in this" ..... Uhh dummy everyone is calling her the victim because he broke into her home and threatened to kill her with a knife

Good on Carson Beck for getting 10 mil from Miami because he is absolutely a fraud ass bitch and it’s the last paycheck he’s ever going to get for football go dawgs

Depends, if we would have hired Wilkes and kept darnold were probably be right about where we are now. An average team fighting for a winning record and nfcs crown

And once again I showed you it’s been pretty even. We spent 2nd and 3rd rounders this past draft on edge rushers. No one’s going to sit here and do the math on a draft value chart etc. the only reason I even entertained this was because you said we’ve spent nothing on defense when that simply isn’t true. It also didn’t help we traded our ONLY WR worth a damn to trade up for Bryce soo… And this is kind of the issue with the anti Bryce crowd. This crowd tends to blame him for the trade up. I was team Stroud. Had the panthers not taken Young the only other QB they were going to take was Richardson. So your issue should be with Tepper, Morgan, Fitterer not Bryce. Bryce is who he is and it was pretty obvious who he was during the draft process. Bryce is slowly developing into that guy most thought he’d be. Give him a WR like Jamo and this offense as a whole would improve greatly. Anyone thinking he was the next Pat Mahomes or Josh Allen is clearly slow. Bryce was always going to need pieces around him much like EVERY other QB Burrow has Chase and Higgins and they’ve done nothing. After losing in AFC Championship in 2022, Burrow is 17-15. QB’s need a team around them It’s why a Jalen Hurts led Eagles team dismantled a Pat Mahomes led KC team in the SB Imo the QB’s doing the most with the least up until this year have been Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson This year it’s Drake Maye and Josh Allen Outside of the 3-5 elite type QB’s I’m not really sure what people expect here. Is Bryce ever going to be in that elite category? Nope. Should we punt on Bryce and keep swinging? I don’t think so. Should we keep swinging while hanging onto Bryce? Yeah but I don’t know what that looks like This team as a whole isn’t very good. Offense and defense and that’s the simple truth

I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.

We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me

Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB they 1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released 5 and Christianson coming off Achilles 6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
