The post jumped from a proposed alternate scenario without Bryce and then somehow included Bryce. I got to the end and thought what? It was a pre coffee thing, most likely.

Honestly. The fact that David Newton is paid any amount of money to be a "journalist" is a black eye for all of civilization. -
They all want to be Earl Campbell

Many Panthers fans can’t stand him. Which is probably why the outrage is high. -

he has done it for a long long time, who is to say he isnt good? -
I was/am a Braves fan and the people I worked for had season tickets and took me to a few games in 1995 which was the WS winning season so there was that. But the Panthers inaugural season was a pretty big thing to me and I missed out. An aside, I worked a night in the Olympic stadium that became Turner Field during the 1996 LCS Braves Cards, and loading out I walked into the freight elevator and sitting there alone was the 1995 WS trophy. I looked around, no one in sight. I had a brief moment considering my plan, but just went about my business and left it there lol. We peons don’t get touch something like that. But I fondled that bitch.

Honestly, Marshawn Lynch is about the only other guy I can think of off the top of my head with a similarly punishing running style who wasn't huge who held up long-term.

Why should Newton not be fired if he isn’t good at his job? I feel like a ton of passionate fans would love that job. -
I said that way back because it is true. Teams aren’t trading what appears to be a can’t miss prospect. In an extremely rare scenario like they have an established QB and maybe got the pick in a trade. Sort of like the Bears but with a better incumbent. If they’d have had someone significantly better than Fields they might have cashed in.

So you're saying you'd still go back and take the inferior talents, just because you think they fit with Bryce better, a player who is more likely than not, to no longer be a Panther next year? That's just crazy to say, wanting to have a worse player because you think they fit better with your awful QB is just dumb. You take the best players, if your existing players then aren't good enough, you replace them later. It's crazy that there are still people with this take after they've seen what T-Mac can do for us in just 5 games so far.

I have seen Bryce make some outstanding throws but what he is up against is even when the WRs get a little separation, that tightens up while the ball is in the air. By degrees depending on the distance. Not as critical on the short stuff.

Being in Atlanta would be worse than being in Dallas. Haha. Luckily there is a great Panthers bar here with like 40(ish) fans who are from the Carolinas or a fan of the team.
-
Exactly, I can't see anyway this guy is effective for more than a season or two, he's going to end up a very oft injured player. Not counting Derrick Henry, who was the last RB to have such a physical style that has held up for more than a year or two?

Suck it will be.

I moved to Atlanta for work, in June 1995. Almost the same for a Panthers fan. This was pre internet at least for me, and there was no coverage unless we played the Falcons. As a Panthers fan I hated that because I was super excited we had our own team finally and I was missing it. I remember going to a bar and watching us beat SF maybe in our first year. But not much chance to watch games. This prompts me to bitch that an expansion team’s first year was better than anything Tepper has been able to assemble.

I get what you're trying to say, but I have seen Tetairoa open a plenty and Hunter Renfrow open a plenty, but Bryce just misses what are supposed to be routine throws. Bryce's arm isn't Mahomes' arm, and he certainly doesn't have the plus mobility (basically the backyard-ball mentality and athleticism to run around until someone's open) and ability to make throws off platform that Mahomes' does. We also have at least two TEs that get open on the regular, as well as two RBs that can catch and get open as well. Not to mention that Jalen Coker gets open on the regular when in. I just ain't buying that he doesn't have enough weapons. Legette gets open at times as well, not to mention Tremayne. If Bryce would just time his passes better and do it more consistently, it would open up the offense. His issues, at least in my mind, come down to one main thing: his height. He developed consistently bad mechanics over the years to overcome his inability to see the field, and while he got away with it pre-NFL, in the NFL where guys are a little bigger, a lot faster, and more experienced with decidedly more motivation to consistently do their jobs, Bryce is coming up short.

Texas / Oklahoma and the Texas State Fair. Over under on calories (liquid and solid) I consume today is 8750.5.

I said this before that trade, but those trades in general just never work out, usually because if the team at #1 is wiling to trade the pick, it means the QB options that year just aren't that great to begin with. That we then took Bryce just compounded the issue

That GF, I mean you don’t need to know anything else. He ain’t right, it shows bad judgement. That is granddaughter material for guys his age. He has me by 2.5 years and I know of what I speak. I promise you his mind isn’t on UNC football as much as it needs to be.

Now take your situation with Cowboys fans, multiply by infinity stupidity, and you'll know my pain living in Dallas. Haha.

You could do almost the same moves offensively, and have the 2023 9.1, the 2.x, the 2024 1.x, the 2025 2.x, and DJ. Draft defense with those picks and you should be stout. Just think of having maybe not a SB team, but a shot at 10 -12 wins and the playoffs instead of the horrendous ball we have watched since 2023. And some realistic hope.
