  1. Past hour
  2. Produced to what end exactly? We've had a bottom 3 offense at best each year he's been here. Man you guys crack me up. Carry on.
  3. Contract is already signed can't unring the bell. I just don't want to see us taking important reps from our young receivers and tight ends. Barring a literal miracle this is only a development season. Make the most of it.
  4. I followed this too much. The simple term is everyone is waiting on Saints 40th pick QB Tyler Shough to sign. QB always get more money and higher guarantees. Since the 33rd and 34th got fully guaranteed deals, Tyler wants the same. Start doing some bad math- so #35-39 also want the full boat, so will 41st, 42nd, etc It could last until Nic at 51st, some team has to stop the madness. Plus no player or agent wants to be first to bend the knee at a non-guarantee(thank harry Mack!). So this could get very fugly and last into the season, no BS. The Seahawks traded up for their pick and they could easily fall in line, thus making it messier. I do think the teams in 30s will wait sign until Tyler signs. Same for early 40s, its the lynch pin to this whole deal. Remember too all those early 2nd round has great agents and firms. Plus unlike 20 years ago, when teams knew the draft picks would fold cause they needed the money, these picks already have bags of cash from NIL. It's different now and it could last into the season.
  5. Let him sit Not a fan of guaranteed contracts for top 10 first rounders, second rounders can go spit.
  6. He doesn't get open. But he does have hands. Next Gen had him #3 with hands and #92 in getting open. Which feels about right.
  7. So what do you propose? Cut him and save 2mm? Package a draft pick to try and trade him? I don't even know what you're arguing tbh.
  8. You guys are entitled to your opinion but I'm not letting our staff off the hook. We have coaches who are paid to develop receivers. We have an offensive minded head coach. We do not need to pay 8-9 million a piece to aging WR's and QB's other teams would scoff at signing just to develop our young roster.
  9. Bruh we had one of the ugliest passing offenses of the last quarter century with Adam Thielen as our focal point. Even as a 3rd or 4th option he isn't going to make or break any games. This staff needs to develop young talent.
  10. Only 2mm difference in cap hit and dead cap. This bed was made a while ago. Given our team composition, I'd argue it's really not a tough pill to swallow. We don't have any stars. This was a Charlotte Hornets deal from the get go. I'm just thankful he's been as productive as he has. Maybe he'll fall off a cliff this year. Or maybe one or more of the young WRs will break out in the season. But as of right now, he's our best WR because he consistently gets open and catches the ball.
  11. Now everybody's gonna be like "Wait, why didn't I get a fully guaranteed contract??"
  12. I mean, Funchess, LaFell, etc would all be our best WR on the roster too going into this season if you could teleport them from the past. coming off an injured year, debating retirement, already being ideally a rotation piece in a legit scenario......that price tag is still tough to swallow but on paper we 100% need him. In reality, for those that can see the future......we all know Hunter Renfrow is about to be America's favorite comeback story.
  13. Don't think about this season as much as the future. I don't think anyone really expects much out of the Panthers this season in terms of contending for anything consequential. Veteran mentorship is important and we've invested a lot of draft capital into our young WRs. Yeah, coaches are important but peer level mentorship can be equally if not more important. Virtually everyone has benefitted from that veteran person at work talking them under their wing and showing them the ropes at some point in their careers. It's different when it's coming from a peer vs. someone you have to report to.
  14. Let him go back to A&M with his buddy. We should not allow the stupidity of Houston and Cleveland dictate our actions. Whoever started the thread about the stupidity of Houston when it first occurred was spot on. My favorite part about all of this: LOL. The old duded who plays a position of the highest bust rate wants guaranteed money????????
  15. People have been announcing the death of Adam Thielen for 5 years now. He was done when we signed him, and last year his yards per game had him on pace for an even better season than 2023. He's still the best WR we have until proven otherwise.
  16. He is here for Bryce's comfort and development. When a guy gels with your main asset, his price goes up.
  17. I just don't view Thielen as that consequential to our season. Absolutely if Canales is the QB guru he has been hyped to be he should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time by developing more than one QB. At the end of the day the Dalton contract is for our starting QB's comfort level whether we like it or not. Let's just hope our #1 pick makes us all forget about these little things with at least a fringe elite season.
  18. We have about $21M in cap space dedicated to WR this year. There are 8 individual WRs with higher cap hits than that by themselves. *Oops, that didn't include T-Mac. Make that $26M. There's still two guys over that number with four more right at it.
  19. Meh, I'm fine with it. Anything you're doing this time of year is about trying to create some competition in camp and maybe have a shot at improving the bottom of your roster.
  20. And AT absolutely fuging leveraged that into a few more million dollars and hell credit to him for doing that cannot blame him a bit. He took advantage of his situation and everyone on here would do they same
  21. Today
  22. The AT deal (ext) I can kindof wrap my head around. Kindof. But the dalton deal is fuging bananas for numerous reasons. The main couple is that he was completely shot last year and his arm is fuging done and secondly if Canalas is this wonder coach of qbs why in the hell wouldnt we be utilizing that and bringing in other young talent whether is a rookie or young vet to try and turn them around while canalas is here?
  23. He's absolutely necessary though. With nothing but inexperienced unproven youth outside of him we need that veteran presence on the unit both on and off the field. Overall, I bet we have one of the cheapest receiver units in the league because outside of Thielen at WR and Tremble at TE virtually everyone else is on rookie contracts.
  24. Should be simple negotiating…. You want more guaranteed you get less overall money. Unfortunately the market has been set by one franchise that wanted to upend the entire system. Now pivot and react and move forward.
  25. https://omny.fm/shows/the-mac-attack-podcast/mac-bone-hour-4-jake-crain-warren-sharp starts at 18 minutes in, sharp drops some stats that stun mac and bone In his last 4 games he had the easiest passing schedule in the NFL. For the year Bryce was Ranked 41 out of 46 qualified qbs in accuracy, 30th in epa, 37th ypa, 39th success rate. Bryce in 28 starts has only lead at halftime 5 times. Not sure what cherry picking 3 games is going to accomplish.
