  1. Past hour
  2. No hate at all if we can get a stud DT that can get after the QB. Pressure is pressure. and D. Brown is doubled every damned play!
  3. Hopefully Ransom continues to develop, but he fits the mold of SS more than FS anyway. I wouldn't mind spending a draft pick on FS if the right guy is available. Certainly after round 3.
  4. Re-signing Nijman is a good idea even if we go OT at 19. He's adequate and knows th schemes already. Would be a nice veteran presense. At ILB, I really like Deonte Lawson from AL, but he likely goes before 51 and would likely be a reach at 19.
  5. Since you all have been sending me Emails, texts, phone calls, telegrams, and smoke signals, I will provide you with a tidbit of a prediction. Yes, the Utah OTs are studs. Both could be gone by 19. Slightly lesser well known is this: The Texas A&M OTs are studs as well, only not as good at run blocking (as a duo). Prediction: We will draft, at some point, an OT from Utah or (more likely) Texas A&M. Round 3. Prediction #2: Morgan will fall in love with LB Golday (Cincinnati). Round 2? Prediction #3: I am not a Tex A&M fan, but I think we will have a Panther Aggie or two on our roster in late April. Cashius Howell is not as big as Scourton or Jones III, but he has a first step that makes him a needed pass-rushing specialist. Clemson Edge TJ Parker could be the first Tiger taken in Carolina--since our first rounders are commonly from the carolinas, it seems, of late. If we don't bring in a veteran edge in free agency, I see one of these two becoming Panthers--if we don't take a tackle--in round 1. Lotta IFs, but it is February, dammit. Prediction #4: We could draft a player who played OT in college but was found to have short arms at the combine to be our future C. Parker (Duke), Bowry (BC) are possible day 3 additions who could transition from OT to C. That is all. I have spoken.

  7. Impulsive owner? Wheb he didn't have football men he could rely on. Yes. Can't say he has been impulsive since Dave. Just an observation.
  8. I think we bring in vets at WR and Edge, re-sign Rozeboom & Mays (and/or Corbett) for depth, and draft OT, ILB, and C in the first 3 rounds (as long as there's someone available who isn't too much of a reach) .
  9. If you are joking ha ha, if serious I certainly didn’t mean to confuse you. Almost every single OL spot could be open in the next two seasons. C, both Ts and Hunt’s spot at 20 mil per season. All could turn over. We need bodies. Plenty of examples of tackles moving to guard in the NFL out of college. T drafted to be guards or failing at T in the NFL and being moved there. Andrew Whitworth played G multiple seasons before permanently switching to T.
  10. It WAS OT. For some reason I couldn't paste it, but Juan posted the link to the full article.
  11. I've given up on taking a Edge high this draft, if at all. We have two young guys we need to develop and adding yet another greenhorn that's not a shoo-in day 1 starter is making less sense. Edge needs to addressed in FA. With Ickey going down, LT is an immediate issue. Lomu is climbing BBs already. It wouldn't shock me at all if he overtakes Proctor for OT3 especially after the combine where I think Proctor will get exposed some.
  12. Yeah, I think getting ousted from the Panthers reignited that blood and guts fire in Smitty. He was done here. Those two alphas just couldn't coexist at that stage in their careers with Smitty knowing he was barely hanging on as a star and Cam knowing he was just emerging. Those energies just weren't compatible.
  13. In theory when I say trade back its get a first for next year and another 2nd for this year. Not likely but I would keep my options open. I dont think the talent level is any different at 19 as it would be in the middle of the 2nd. I think another first for 27 would have us sitting pretty on many levels, damn look at the rams in this draft they are loaded
  14. I agree but trading back kinda sucks as well because the last 3 years we have been trying to accumulate core players. We kinda have that core built. Now we just need playmakers, guys who can impact games. We don’t have that. Maybe Dan goes after that in Free Agency and more depth in the draft.

  16. My guess is there are 1-2 players Dan will have flagged and if they aren’t there he trades back. Its hard to frame the draft until FA is over.
  17. Yeah it depends what the offseason looks like. Does the defense get another step better and/or does Bryce get another step better.
  18. I would really like them to pick a LT in the first but other than Proctor there isn’t a prospect that fits the LT mold that should be on the board at 19. They’ll have a lot of edge and LB options. I honestly think unless a big time LT falls to them, they should trade back in the first if possible, try to get another second or third round pick, and pick a later round tackle in addition to a LB and edge rusher. The can probably get Anthony Hill Jr late in the early second, he’s gonna be a baller
  19. While I like his arm talent and athleticism, he just missed this year due to surgery and he is in the last year of his deal. It wouldnt make a ton of sense to trade for him
  20. yes but if he has any sense or say in the matter he will tell his agent to try to get him traded to be the 49ers backup
  21. LT has to be the most important pickup this offseason. Without it, we will be looking at Andy Dalton by week 6. We have to protect BY at all cost first and foremost. Ekonwu may not ever come back, and Moton can't hang on but so long. Proctor(should be available) or Lomu(could be available) in the 1st and someone like Zion Young (EDGE) in the 2nd would be a good 1st and 2nd round IMO.
  22. This is the best path forward IMO right now. Try and get a pass rusher with potential in FA, and those guys as the first two picks? Sign me up. We have to get another LT in here in case Icky is done for, for Bryce and/or the next QB. Part of me says screw it, build the defense, get Nijman back for LT, and if Bryce can't make it work, he shows it. But then we're just right back in 2027 probably needing a QB AND a LT. I think LT has to be one of the first 2 picks and we hope he's a good one. Every move right now to me should be about building the team that's ready made for a QB in 2027, whether that's Bryce or another rookie.
  23. Given that the immediate impact we need at edge. We almost certainly address that in Free agency, not in the draft. Same with Linebacker, unless Styles or Allen is still there at 19. I think the same for OT. What is the position that we could draft in the 1st round and get immediate help in the first is how im approaching their decision-making I know ill get dragged for this, but im thinking they go DT in the first. A guy that can play right away and be a complement to D.Brown to wreak havoc at the LOS. So unless a top tier LB is there, I think DT will be the move.
