  2. Trade talks between the Panthers and Vikings are "ongoing" still regarding WR Adam Thielen, says @BenGoessling. Goessling also noted that there's still "a lot of interest" in getting the trade done and Thielen is "excited" about the idea. 3. I wish you the best Frank. I don't know what goes on in that head.
  4. I mean he has won games here. But i mean i agree, he isn’t here to necessarily win games. Ideally that would be Bryce’s job.
  5. Backup QB has been an issue of mine for a long time but not just for Bryce and Dalton. We have never really been able to develop QBs or build an offense around strengths. Dalton isn't going to move the needle one way or another. The problem is in our FO and possibly coaching staff (current staff undetermined as of yet). I'm of the belief that you always try to get better. Dalton wasn't good other than one game against an abysmal defense. Churn the roster, including backup QB. If BY isn't the guy we've got to start over anyway. Who knows. We might actually find someone good. Other teams have done it before.
  6. Lol. Worst case? I think you mean most likely result. I don't think people are going to be wasting much breath on Dalton or QB2 if Bryce flounders this year. It's going to be people calling for coaches, GM's and owners heads for the mess we got ourselves in with Bryce in the first place. Rightfully so.
  7. I mean that's his sole reason for being here. He doesn't win football games. He's here to keep Bryce comfortable.
  8. I think because the FO knows it's Bryce or sink this year. Build the roster up elsewhere (using these hypothetical picks we'd draft a backup QB with) so if Bryce is not the guy, we are not nearly in as bad spot as 2023. Our 2026 roster will be much better than 2023 where we could package up multiple picks to go grab Sellars or Nussmeier or Klubnik. We would not be trading up for the #1 pick next year assuming it's Manning.
  9. I doubt Andy is anything near our “culture cornerstone” and he was never signed to be that.
  10. Was bad against the run in college and never got any better in the pros. Definitely won't be a fit here, so bullet (hopefully) dodged.
  11. At this point the Tepper's seem to be leading you around by the nose based on how much time you spend carrying water for them so I'm not surprised you're struggling. We are the only team who saw fit to install Andy Dalton with his zero career playoff wins as a culture cornerstone and a key mentor. Even the putrid Saints wanted no parts of that. Truth hurts
  12. They have drafted two QB's since they took Hurts in the 2020 Draft. Tanner McKee(6th - 2023) and Kyle McCord(6th - 2025). In that span we have drafted Bryce Young(1st - 2023) and Matt Corral(3rd - 2022). Technically, we have invested significantly higher draft capital on QB's(albeit one less than they). It's not the investement that is the issue, it's the results. Corral was literally not a rosterable player with a THIRD ROUND PICK. We gave up a king's ransom for Bryce to basically get Davis Mills results(so far).
  13. No QB from the draft or free agency was going to change this being a losing season for us. I mean we’re rebuilding, everything we’re doing is meant to be for winning tomorrow.
  14. You think SAM HOWELL can win 6 or 7 games with this roster?
  15. The worst case scenario is another losing season with no QB on the roster worth a damn to give the young offensive players any level of meaningful development. This isn't about winning. This was always going to be a losing season. You can rabble about people being butthurt but you know as well as I do the odds that we will be discussing this again are fairly high. And the folks who are being most indignant about people discussing it now will probably go missing like always.
  16. #Jaguars releasing corner Deantre Prince, per source. He was a fifth-round pick in 2024. i refuse to even check the guy out. STAY AWAY. IYKYK
  17. Long term, why not? For a short term bandage, of course not. We all know Dalton is collecting retirement money from the Panthers. If he has to be put in a game, I'm sure he'll play hard for us, but he's not going to be staple of this team for the foreseeable future.
  18. Commanders inked Terry McLaurin to a new deal. Up to 3yr, $96M.
  19. What are you suggesting here? The Saints should have altered their entire QB strategy around keeping Dalton as QB2? Like I don’t even follow where you’re trying to go with this. Their decision was to get a vet QB1 in Carr, you don’t keep around an $8M QB2 in those situations.
  20. If Bryce regresses, I don't want someone like Sam Howell winning 6 or 7 games for us anyways. Let it play out instead of resisting the fact that its Bryce's sink or swim year.
  21. Yeah. I mean I watched a pretty good chunk of their games and that coach definitely put him in a position to succeed very often with that Ferrari offense. I think you saw what they really thought about him when they let him walk out the door. I am telling you, watch what transpires. I for one will not be surprised at all.
  22. They didn’t need a mentor as they went the vet route. We did and he is who we chose. It is what it is. I assume he’ll likely be gone in no more than 2 years whether Bryce is the guy or not. So try to get to know the red rifle.
  23. I think you are just lashing out pointlessly because you are just generally butthurt. I have no idea why the backup QB suddenly is the most important thing in your mind but by all means, keep ranting away. I can assure you, our failure or success this season will have very, very little to do with that.
  24. I feel like they should leave Bryce out there all year good or bad. That way we have our answer one way or the other about him. If he's bad, we can pick his replacement high and try again
  25. They could have easily kept him as a backup to mentor an upcoming draft pick but they had seen enough. They chased after Carr and probably saved us as supposedly we were hot for him too at one point. Unfortunately we made an even worse panic move. But. That's the Panthers for you.
