It's 1a and 1b with ability to see in the pocket and arm strength. Bryce is a smart guy and would probably be very very good without those limitations but unfortunately his too biggest struggles are things that cannot be fixed.
-
I’m afraid that’s part of the problem
-
It's a small group to begin with(pun intended). I don't care about the height(to a point). I want to see if you are an elite QB or have elite QB tools. The one thing I will say is that I am definitely done with below average to significantly below average arm strength. Bryce cured me of that. Honestly, similarly with QB's with poor footwork. Those should be Day 3 guys.
-
Lane Kiffin has to be pissed. Half his staff is still tied up at Ole Miss during a crucial recruiting/transfer portal window and Ole Miss beating UGA just puts more pressure on him to win immediately.
-
Mahomes, Rodgers, Purdy, Baker, Caleb Williams etc are all under 6'3". I'm not sure it's even outliers at this point.
-
He really impressed last night. Accurate. Lightning release and throws a ball that 100% passes the eye test. He drastically upped his draft stock showing out like he did on the biggest stage in college football.
-
I am not at all up for under 6' myself. That list is small and unimpressive, I really can't think of anyone but Wilson in that category recently I would call good that I can think of. Murray could have made it work but he is incredibly dense IMO. That's just bad odds. Over 6'? Shouldn't be an issue by itself. 100% on the second part. That's what matters first and would dictate an exception.
-
I’m pretty sure he isn’t referring to outliers. Lamar is the most athletic QB in history, Top 1% athleticism. I get his point, about the ideal QB being 6’3 or taller. Kind of funny how billion dollar QB needy organizations refuse to look at QB’s they just don’t like. Org’s rather flounder than be flexible. Lamar, Shedur….etc Both QB’s we could make the argument we could have had. Shedur would have been a distraction to finally see if Bryce was worth the draft spot (and Bryce emphatically isn’t) but we would have a low capital investment for 2026. Allowing us to invest resources in the defense (Sonny Styles etc..)

Watching Bama get utterly embarrassed is always very watchable.
-
I will say, Chambliss was out there looking like dimestore Donovan McNabb. I don't think his arm talent is in the McNabb/Wilson territory is the only hiccup. He did remind me a bit of those guys, scrambling around back there.
-
The height poo is dramatically overplayed. Just get someone with elite arm talent and other elite skillsets. There are plenty of elite 6 foot or under NFL QB's historically. I mean this board is simping left, right and center for backup NFL players like Willis and Howell and both of them are barely 6 feet. Just get players with elite NFL QB traits and abilities.
-
6'1" isn't a deal breaker, especially for a latter pick. At this point a backup level QB that can see the field would be a huge improvement, 6'1" can see a lit more than 5'9"+. Add in any physical traits above poor level and it's all.imprivement in the right direction IMO.
-
It was the only watchable game of the day. Chambliss might have jumped his draft stock.
-
Yeah, who wants Lamar Jackson? Midget.
-
I passed out at halftime. This flu is whipping my ass.
-
Lol...with an Achilles injury?? I doubt you even see him play football in 2026.
-
Check down and scramble. Couldn't be any more clear that dude can't see
-
Too small. I don't want another QB under 6'3
-
I don't think Mack providing a little more pop to the Alabama offense did Ty Simpson's draft stock any favors. I am extremely skeptical of him as an elite NFL prospect. I really don't see it.

Sunday ticket is $5 as well

Or if you're going to bet the farm on a small guy who will get rocked by NFL players on a regular basis he better be special. That's what I heard. Regardless, him being vague about it is kind of my point. Few in the media raised any concerns about Bryce's game outright. His passing ability was highly praised across the board even after Stroud had the more impressive Pro Day. There was the dumb debate around batted balls that eventually got squashed and I remember some game tape blogger types talking about his poor footwork, but even that was hand-waved away because he was a "dynamic playmaker" and we had a respected coaching staff that could fix him.

Seems to me that the Bucs have less fight in them now than they had in week 16. The real test is going to be if the Panthers can sustain focus and discipline throughout. With the Bucs being at home, maybe that gives them a little boost of confidence and energy. Wouldn’t it be something if for ONCE the Panthers came out and dominated from the opening snap and just took this shook Bucs team to task? If the Panthers see-saw form follows, we are in line for the W. Hard to say we have momentum but we do have a pretty clear pattern of following a loss with a win. I’m going to say 24-16 Panthers!!

When Parcell’s said Bryce better “walk on water”…..the implied concern wasn’t that the tiny QB could survive being hit. It was acknowledging he would have to be extremely special to overcome the handicaps he would face at this level. Which he isn’t and can’t. which isn’t just being hit. It’s being able to play in an NFL pocket and make NFL throws from it….and that ultimately is Bryce’s problem. He doesn’t play well from a NFL pocket and can’t make all the throws as needed. He can’t see as others can. Which impacts the throws he does and doesn’t take. It also impacts him bailing and killing plays and turning them into scrambles/dead plays

9:30 kick off here in Scotland, which is better than the 01:20 early hours of Monday that I feared. Will definitely be watching, but probably wouldn't if it had been 0120 as I need to be up for work at 05:45. Falcons Saints is 6pm on the Sunday so will watch that too if it becomes relevant
