I am kind of amazed that the organization still believes. It definitely shakes any remaining faith of a turnaround, that's for sure. Of course there is an element of, "well what do you expect them to say?"

?

Brooks had plenty of time. ACL rehabs shouldn’t take that long these days. There was a botch in there somewhere, but I doubt more time was the answer.
-
Neither do I... Also not a big Trevor Lawrence fan either. The "bigger and stronger" thing is probably the main appeal there.

Dane Brugler’s panthers mock pick
LinvilleGorge replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think need is always factored into the BPA equation. I mean, of course every team is always going to claim their draft pick was the BPA on their board. It's not like a team is ever going to admit that they passed on perceived better talent to take a player based on need but I think "BPA" really means "BPA for our team" and that factors in things like roster need, scheme fit, etc. that aren't necessarily related to pure talent level. -
If they are not looking for a plan B if/when the wheels fall off then they will not have their jobs long.

Tampa's remaining schedule
DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
1st we MUST win against the Saints. A loss and everything else is a mute point. Week 16 is our season. If we can beat the Bucs in Carolina we stand a chance regardless of week 17. -
Graziano does say he "talked to a bunch of Panthers people" and his takeaway was that "they still believe in him". My read on the extension talk though is that it's mostly hypothetical.
-
PS: Xavier Legette is bad, and I don't need stats to know that either

ESPN guys talk Bryce fifth year option
PNW_PantherMan replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think his ceiling is higher under Dave Canales -
I haven't looked at Bryce's comparative stats because I don't care. Remember, early season we went with a very run heavy aproach. Passing stats were bound to be minimized in those game plans. If you do wanna focus on individual production though, you can't just look at the bad games. You have to account for the phenomenal near 400 yard game he had just a few weeks ago. He's shown what he can do. That's undeniable. But again, it all comes back to the consistency question.
-
I don't think they are looking for his replacement. I think he fits what Canales wants to do. I think they are looking for continued improvement and believe it will come with time. I don't expect them to try and extend him but unless he just craps out the rest of the season, I would expect them to pick up his 5th year.

Wild that ESPN, the network thats been carrying Bryce’s juice box since he was drafted, is now starting rumors about his extension. -
This would remind me a lot of when Star fell to us Woods is a baller this would be a great pick I think our biggest need is EDGE/Pass rush juice, this would help with that Second biggest need IMO is MLB Tied for 3rd is TE/FS Other than edge those are good positions to "need"
-
Thats the benefit of always drafting near the end of the 1st round. Good defensive players always fall and they are right there to scope them up.
-
Bryce as a starter (12 games vs 12 games). Sets up perfectly given the week we fall on. 2024 - 195 pass yards per game, 20 rush yards per game, 21 TDs, 11 turnovers 2025 - 194 pass yards per game, 10 rush yards per game, 19 TDs, 13 turnovers
-
Why. Lawrence is either the same or worse than Young in almost every statistically catagory. And it isn't just this year. comp%, TD-INT ratio, 1st down success, etc. He might be bigger and have a stronger arm but he has not played like the better QB.

Dane Brugler’s panthers mock pick

BPA all the way; make strengths stronger. Would prefer a pass rusher/LB, but fill those holes somewhere else. In the draft, get the best player. -

And great teams have good to better olines panthers had oline depth and versatility this year. Kinda things thet do not need wrs rbs or tes Thats just me -
I don't necessarily buy that. Hell, I'd be calling for their firing if I did. As hard as it might be to believe though, I do think our braintrust genuinely sees a possible future where we genuinely keep winning with Bryce. That's not my vision, but it legitimately could be theirs.
-
Oh, so not individual performance/production. So you can have less production, more turnovers.....but if the team wins, you are better. so Xavier Legette is better this year? or is this a Bryce exclusive that winning trumps individual performance/production? and I'm more of an eyeball guy. And Bryce is pretty much the same dude as last year off that. The defense and rush attack has looked different. And when you get clear improvement from units and other things stay the same. More wins is normally the outcome.

Twitter world with some reliable sources like Josh Norris -
If anything it will give them time to find his replacement. If they had done that last offseason they would be in much better position to move on. But as you've saw the option behind him is going to take some time to make it right.
-
I'm guessing you understand that's not gonna happen, right?

ESPN guys talk Bryce fifth year option

God if only anyone could have seen this coming last year and brought in real camp competition this off season. If only this were foreseeable. Right now I think we are in the driver's seat in the NFCS if Brissett had been brought in instead of Dalton. JMO, but for 2m more per season a legit NFL backup who given the opportunity has shown he can throw the ball this season and would have competed for the starting job this year. It feels like this off season we're going to make the dumbest decision no matter what so I fully expect the ghost of QBs past and Jack Plummer back at training camp.
