  1. Past hour
  2. The only thing confusing about the safety group to me is redundancy. Moehrig, Richardson, and Ransom all look to be good and potentially good box safeties. We never really got that ball hawking FS we needed IMO. It might still work out, but whoever is playing FS would be playing a position that doesn't fully play to their strengths IMO.
  3. Do you not remember what our defense was like with Kuechly? And then without him? Cornerback is the least important position on defense, followed by safety. The most important are DT's, then DE's, then ILB, then OLB, then safety, then corner. You build inside out and front to back.
  4. thanks @Captain Morgan as always with the updates I'm digging what I'm hearing about Demani Richardson. He's the guy not talked about as much. It seems they've got a good grip on what they have with him after a lot of playing time to close out 2024. Seems to have trust and I'm hearing good stuff.
  5. Another article released this morning by the hockey news talked about us being in on Karlsson. I think Seravalli said it would cost us Chatty (no thanks) or Walker (we had a good run Sean).
  6. Their flailing attempts of long term survival with the SAS and Pat McAfee-cation of their programming has ruined the product. The NBA Draft coverage this year was a disgrace to even a casual fan. It's unwatchable garbage. Corresponds pretty well with Disney making Pitaro head of ESPN. Norby Williamson already caused a slow death beginning in the 2000s, but his ouster didn't change much. That org has so much toxicity and programming with no real analysis anymore. Taken over by talking heads and ex-attorney/execs who think they know ball.
  7. Luke, Dan, and Trevin Wallace could probably make things happen. On that note. For a team that has two HOF talents at Linebacker working for them, we have an utter lack of linebacker talent.
  8. I think he makes the team and has around 500 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns this season. Book it. 2025 is the year to go. It's Year 3 for Bryce. Once that rookie contract is up things change a lot, whether we sign him or draft a replacement. It's go time.
  9. We have to pay a backup QB something? Dalton is making 8 million over 2 years. Honestly that's pretty cheap. Argument aside of how good he is, his contract seems fine. Plenty of blame to go around for our cap getting full, but the backup QB on a 2 year 8 million dollar deal seems like quite the reach.
  10. What is this NFL network thing?? It’s definitely gone downhill the last few seasons!!
  11. I don't see why they wouldn't just put him on IR since it'll only save 3.4mil in cap space. He was one of the few bright spots on the defense last year, and I think one of the core players on that defense and leaders they could build around, especially being an Ejiro guy. Same with Jonathan Brooks, how they decided to PUP him instead of just put him in IR, so now he still counts against team roster spot AND is out for the year. I feel our management team is having a hard time figuring out how to use player injury designation for some reason. Just feels amateurish, but hopefully we grow.
  12. My feeling is that it will be between him, Moore and Horn. Tet, Thielen, and Leggette are locks and I think Coker is to.
  13. You said it before I did. How stupid would we look and what predicament would we be in to lose Bryce on an overzealous play during training camp? My, oh my, we need Bryce practicing...and we need him on the damned field because he's not only the best QB that we have, ostensibly, but because we need some closure to the question of whether or not he's a franchise QB. Hands off during practice!
  14. Yayyy making things more expensive Hooray monopoly!
  15. You just don't typically touch QBs in this stage of practice. A broken hand/finger from his throwing arm can really jeopardize a season.
  16. Today
  17. I don't agree with stifling the confidence of a rookie pass rusher on a defense that gave up the most points in history last season. Unfortunately we won't be able to give opposing pass rushers a stern talking to about stripping the ball away from our QB. It's been an issue for us and it's something Bryce needs to clean up. I'd be much more focused on that as the head coach but it's not my job at stake.
  18. not from practice but this is interesting take from ocho on XL, Adam and King Tut Chad Johnson @ochocinco · Follow Can we talk about the possibility of the Panthers trio of receivers being the best in the league w/ consistency week to week for Bryce Young
  19. Joe Person @josephperson · 5h Bryce Young with a little flair pass to new running back Rico Dowdle during individual drills. https://x.com/i/status/1948030020259102912
  20. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 4h Nick Scott with a pass breakup in the flat on a throw from Andy Dalton to new tight end Tyler Mabry in 7s. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 5h Austin Corbett gets first first-team center reps of 11 on 11 drills to begin camp. #Panthers oe Person @josephperson · 5h Bryce to JT Sanders, a connection the Panthers hope to see a lot of this year. https://x.com/i/status/1948032144699236628
  21. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 4h I would not want to be a DB in space with Austin Corbett running in space. I’ll say that. Also, Young throws a dart to TMac in 11s and the rookie makes some Gumby-style moves in a crowd. Kassidy Hill @KassidyGHill · 4h Jaycee Horn has only amped up the trash talk, for anyone interested Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 4h Demani Richardson intercepts Bryce Young on a deep pass intended for Hunter Renfrow in 7-on-7 drills. The safety had a wonderful training camp last season and is off to another good start. Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 Bryce Young follows it up with a nice second series that includes a deep crossing route to Xavier Legette that’s caught in traffic.
  22. i love Canales, but this is a weird one lol
  23. Darin Gantt @daringantt · 4h Canales says it will be a couple of weeks before Tommy Tremble is back, maybe 3-4. Bobby Brown has a hamstring, same as Sam Martin, those should be short-term absences. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 4h Dave Canales says Demani Richardson has grown the most from Year 1 to Year 2 with his communication with the rest of the defense. He’s using his voice and finding comfort in the defense. #Panthers
  24. there was a lot of chatter about this Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye Princely Umanmielen ends practice on a strip sack on Bryce Young. Blazed around the corner and knocked ball out of launch point. #Panthers Princely came around the end fast, Bryce didn't even have to throw the ball. Prince didn't hit him, but he either hit his arm or the ball and cause the fumble. Both Bryce and Canales were asked about it in their pc's, and both said we have to be careful (Bryce used the word "etiquette") but both said they were glad to see the effort. Joe Person @josephperson · 4h Dave Canales on Princely Umanmielen play on Bryce Young: Liked the explosiveness, didn’t like the contact. https://x.com/i/status/1948044324966391856
  25. Carolina Panthers @Panthers · 3h Watch Jaycee Horn speak to the media. https://x.com/i/broadcasts/1jMJgkmZRlPJL
  26. Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 4h #Panthers kicker Matthew Wright goes 5-for-5 on field goals (with the skinny posts). Final field goal is from 50-plus yards out. Andy Dalton serves as the field goal holder in Sam Martin’s absence, for those concerned. Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 2h I've been informed that he actually went 4-of-5 ... and that @mike_e_kaye caught his sole miss. Sorry for the error.
  27. Carolina Panthers @Panthers · 8m TMac with the smooth one handed grab https://x.com/Panthers/status/1948102114179436691 Carolina Panthers @Panthers · 43m Renfrow lays out https://x.com/i/status/1948093277946761389 Rozeboom calling the plays for D today ThePanthersWire @ThePanthersWire · 1h Panthers LB Christian Rozeboom reveals he's now the green dot on defense https://t.co/BukxwXbift Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 3h Christian Rozeboom was more worried about Josey Jewell “as a human” than training camp competition. He said hopefully they’ll be able to play together down the road. But he says Jewell’s situation is “bigger than football.” Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 2h Christian Rozeboom also addressed the Jewell departure with the media. The linebacker the #Panthers picked up in free agency in March said his thoughts were with him as a person as he recovers from his concussion and then expounded on how this will affect his football role. https://x.com/i/status/1948062187618013640
