Bene got scapegoated for that game. Literally. I think we cut him like a day or two after that game. He looked really good as a rookie but then had an injury that I can't recall exactly what it was and was just never the same after that.
-
I saw the same thing lol, couldn't believe my eyes. Apparently they were so hurt at safety they signed him to practice squad in November and he immediately slotted in for 7 starts. All at safety. Pretty sure the tiny dude was Sanchez and was one of the victims along with Benwikere to Julio's infamous 300 yard game. I think he only caught passes against those 2 guys all game, with most being against Bene. Barely played after that, rightfully so.

Of course, I agree. Gamble did it way longer here. If Bradberry played at that level here for as long as Gamble it'd be closer. Bradberry actually has had a pretty under the radar career post-Carolina too. Many will remember the game-ending hold in the Super Bowl but the dude did have a pro bowl season and another 2nd team all pro season after leaving. Gamble (outrageously) never even made a pro bowl.

Joe Person @josephperson · 2h Andy Dalton with a nice across his body throw on a scramble play to Hunter Renfrow, who got behind the secondary. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h Third-string OT Brandon Walton and OLB Thomas Incoom both got physical after a Dalton toss to Etienne for a TD in 11 on 11. Incoom made contact with Walton’s facemask. Chippy #Panthers minicamp. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h Princely Umanmielen with a “sack” on Jack Plummer. He’s having a nice minicamp. #Panthers Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h Ethan Garbers, after a fumbled snap and a sack, hurls a nice ball to Dan Chisena for a 20 yard gain. He then gets tripped on a roll out. This third-string unit isn’t having the most fun week. Joe Person @josephperson · 2h Derrick Brown said the goal is to be ready for the start of training camp. “I hope so.” Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h Derrick Brown (knee) hopes to be back in drills by training camp with “load management.” #Panthers Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h Instead of a JUGS machine, Chuba Hubbard is getting thrown to by Jack Plummer while he runs routes after practice. Nice to change things up. #Panthers Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 1h #Panthers head coach Dave Canales said a version of this during rookie minicamp, and then was equally effusive today: This rookie class is “one of the best groups I’ve been around.” He explains what has impressed him after minicamp concluded. Joe Person @josephperson · 1h That’s a wrap on minicamp. Panthers appeared to avoid any serious injuries. Defense had the upper hand today after offense had a big day Wednesday. See everybody in late July. Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 1h #Panthers rookie running back Trevor Etienne was asked what he’s learned up until this point in the offseason program. His first response, with a smile: “I learned I didn’t know as much about football as I thought I did.” just read there were multiple scuffles today

Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h Christian Rozeboom broke up a pass over the middle by Bryce Young in 11 on 11. UDFA DB Isaac Gifford nearly came up with the pick. #Panthers Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 2h 11s work: #Panthers QB Bryce Young fires a pass over the middle that’s deflected by LB Christian Rozeboom. The ball flies in the air and then slips through S Isaac Gifford’s hands for a near-INT. Young follows that up with a slant to Adam Thielen that goes for a big gain. Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 2h Mike Jackson then picks off Young. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h James Mitchell with a catch off a Bryce throw in the seam. Then Mike Jackson picks off BY9 in the flat on a target to RB Rico Dowdle. Mike read it the whole way. #Panthers Joe Person @josephperson · 2h Mike Jackson picks off Bryce Young in the EZ. Jackson ran all the way to the other end zone. He would not have been able to do that had it been a real game. Still, nice play.

interesting Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 3h We’ve only been to five open workouts but it sure seems like the #Panthers prefer Brady Christensen as an OT as opposed to an IOL at least based on the small sample size.

without a doubt his was much more serious, I am just saying of all the knee injuries it appears that the meniscus tear appears to the the shorter recovery time compared to acl/pcl/mcl. Seems like people bounce back quicker whether its a clean up or full tear.

Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 3h Tetairoa McMillan and Nick Scott here but not practicing, Jimmy Horn in uniform but working on adjacent field with trainer, JJ Jansen and Matthew Wright are approved absences. #Panthers Joe Person @josephperson · 3h Tetairoa McMillan gets another day. We will see him again in five weeks.

Getting it shaved/removing part of it (meniscectomy) is a different procedure. You got the Dollar Tree option while Brown got the quality option. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10518210/ "This study has demonstrated a significant clinical benefit in patients with isolated meniscal tears undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. The outcomes of meniscal repair were superior to that of meniscectomy at medium-term follow-up. Meniscal repair is a more biologically preserving procedure of the knee joint and should be performed preferentially over meniscectomy in isolated meniscal tears when feasible"

Just having some fun as indicated in the opening sentence. Off season. Never touched drugs or alcohol, but I don't do normal.
-
I call it a gift. this is half "crazy." You should see me when the fair comes to town.
-
You ok bro? Too much offseason left for you to be going full "crazy" like this.

OK, switching gears here a bit because I did not want to start a thread about uniforms again because this is tongue-in-cheek humor----or is it? Background Information: My wife is a Taylor Swift fan (A Swiftee). She says that Taylor Swift puts subtle "clues" in her videos and lyrics, hinting what might be coming soon. Here is an example of clues that may indicate future releases or upcoming events: I see a lot of similarities between Dan Morgan and Taylor Swift. They both spend a lot of money and time on their hair. They both have the same vowel (a) in their first names. Taylor Swift has 11 letters in her first and last name and was born in 1989. Morgan was born in 1978--11 years earlier. Eerie. So it is probable that Morgan drops hints when he is on Television. Most recently, I noticed a shot during his appearance on Pat McAfee's show. See if you can notice it. I will give you 30 seconds (30 second pause). OK, did you see it? In the bottom left hand corner of the photo, it appears that he has a canister of roll-on deodorant. I am guess "Axe" scented. Just to the right of his shoulder, I see a smoothie mixer, probably a Ninja "Bullet." "Axe" and "Bullet?" We are going to war, it seems. Then there are two mini helmets, one being Morgan's alma mater, but it is also a symbol for "hurricanes." Fall is hurricane season, the season during which we shall go to war. Between the two helmets, there is a framed, blurry, red herring clue--Morgan's gold-plated volunteer junior deputy badge. But the real clue is there, in the far right hand corner of the picture---a WHITE Carolina Panther helmet. Not silver. WHITE. Hmmmm. A WHITE Panther helmet in the GM's office. What could that mean? Men with war axes wear helmets. Men going to war with bullets wear helmets. Men in hurricanes wear helmets (I am speculating). White helmets to usher in hurricane season. The calm before the storm. Uncanny.

#1 defense in the NFL. A bunch of rookies wasn't gonna help that unit. Yet out there with UDFAs starting on the oline and nutting up the Super Bowl.
-
Yeah, yanking the tag on Norman when he did after free agency was basically over caused him to go into the draft absolutely desperate and forced to just spam picks at CB simply to field a secondary. The end result was predictable. Man, I'll never forget Julio just streaking down the field wide ass open over and over and over again in that game. I honestly think he could've gone for 500 yards of the game had been competitive enough to justify them continuing to throw.
-
Yeah the real burn in this situation was DG forcing Worley and that other CB pick who didn’t make it for a 3CB draft to pair with that atrocious Vernon Butler pick Overcompensated… I won’t forget DG and Rivera laughing like “see we know what you wanted and finally did it” presser. I mean, Joe Thuney was the pick after Worley lol. I will say the one saving grace was how terrible the 2016 draft was overall.
-
2016 will go down as one of the worst drafts I have ever witnessed.
-
I can agree with that. I loved Gamble.
-
Gamble is the best CB we ever had. Norman's 2015 season was the best single season by a DB we've ever had but overall Gamble's career here > J-No's career here.
-
I'd put Gamble on a higher tier than Bradberry as well, but I understand what you are saying.
-
That sounds a lot like our story though. We picked up a 1st round WR and a lot of hopes and prayers. We need some miracles for this D to be significantly better.
-
Even if it was that serious it still is a head scratcher he is still dealing with it 9 months later. I am still believing just his enormous size is probably slowing things down. Tearing up your knee and being 325 pounds has to take time to get right. I guess we will see what happens in TC but this is starting to feel like there is more to the story or whatever. I had mine shaved a while back and it was basically 100% in roughly a month or so. I did a ton of stretching and knee exercises and it was fine.
-
Worley was just terrible. And terrible from day one. The Titans picked #1 for a reason.
