You don't have to convince me. I think not picking up the option should absolutely be firmly on the table but I just do not see Tepper and Morgan doing that for previously stated reasons. Therefore I'm not going to bother entertaining the notion. Just hoping we actually get real viable competition. If that doesn't happen at the minimum then my perception of that is complete and utter professional malpractice.

NFL admits the TMac catch should not have been overturned
Bama Panther replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was absolutely a catch, and I can’t believe how many folks were stating, before the NFL’s apology, that the overturn was the right call. The ultimate question in this case is this: can a player complete a catch with only one hand? Of course, we all know the answer to that question, and it is an emphatic “Yes.” T-Mac maintained complete control with one hand (believe it was the right) while the other came off when the ball hit the ground. The ball was in the same position in the one hand (watch T-Mac’s fingers in relation to the NFL shield on the ball) after touching the ground as it was when it first went to the ground. Going back to the question above, if one hand can establish control, then there was no need for the other to stay on the ball, so long as the ball doesn’t move in that one hand that stays on it It blew my mind that they overturned this in the first place. This should not be a “We got it wrong on the replay because there wasn’t clear and convincing evidence.” This should have been, “That was absolutely a catch.” -
Sign him up. I am willing to bet he wouldn't finish a game with -2 yards.

He is just fuging limited in every way. On one hand, and nfl player, you would want to bulk them up so long as it doesn’t limit their mobility, elasticity, flexibility, ROM, or dynamicism - as is the concern with bulking up. But the issue with that is, you would be worried about that when a guy has those traits to begin with. Bryce is a very average athlete with a weak arm. So if you’re not gonna be a great athlete with a strong arm, bulk up. And if you can’t or won’t bulk up, find another fuging profession that doesn’t require athleticism and arm strength. You’re built like a bitch AND aren’t a great athlete - you can’t be subpar in both categories… well, unless you play for the Panthers apparently.

Think he would beat out XL for a spot on Sunday?

I have said it a million times and I’ll keep saying it - I wish I had just one person throughout my life that believed in me, favored me, doted on me, and made excuses for my shortcomings like this entire organization has for Bryce. It is unfugingbelievable. I would understand if maybe Bryce was 6’6”, 270 lbs., ran a 4.3 and could throw 80 yards off his knees. Like seriously, what the fug dirt does he have on Tepper or Canales. I don’t fuging understand it at all. Our coach just openly admitted that he can’t call a standard play for an NFL QB because he isn’t capable of running it. What the actual fug are we doing??????????

I will say that as bad as some coaches can be about wanting to fix headcase players, fans are worse. A while back, somebody on here wanted us to go after Titus Young.
-
For the most part yes. Joining the cheerleaders to cheer on a touchdown when he was on the Niners is harmless. His repeated solo look-at-me celebration on the Dallas star rubbed a few the wrong way. All in all, major talent, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to hear he still thinks he could play on Sundays, if some team would only give him a shot.
-
Was watching when that happened. The assistant or whatever she was that talked about "a man of his statue" didn't exactly help things.
-
He never reached the level of Aaron Hernandez
-
Might just not have been publicly known before that. Social media probably wasn't as big a deal back then either. I know some of the crazy sh-t Charles Haley did was kept under wraps for quite a while.

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)
rebelrouser replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
You would only pick up the option if you think he could possibly develop into a starter, which he cannot. Keeping him around in '26 and '27 will just complicate the qb room. I absolutely agree Dalton must be cut. I think Tepper and Morgan pick up the option shortly after the season though. -
A lot of his "antics" were generally nothingburgers inside of a locker room. It was the locker room stuff that got him passed around. All that outside football stuff was only meaningful to the media and by proxy the fans. I have no idea who those fat kids he is with are. If they are streamers, he should have a team around him smart enough to intercept those kind of "opportunities" and shut them down.
-
It didn't reach ridiculous levels until he left SF. The shirtless situps in the driveway kicked off the ridiculous era.
-
I said over the top. I guess that is a debatable bar. If I squint I can get back to him spatting with Jeff Garcia and insinuating he was gay lol. .
-
Compared to it now??? I mean, there is no question they are far better. Chase and Higgins are better than any current WR on our roster. TMac may be better than them at some point in his career but that point is not now. Coker is better than Iosivas, IMO. I will give that.
-
Exactly. He should be smart enough not to be fuging around with internet edge lords but duping an NFL star into doing something like this on camera unknowingly is exactly the type of poo they do for clicks which is exactly why he should be smart enough not to fug around with them.
-
I think you've forgotten much of his antics. There is much that had already happened before he was doing sit-ups in his driveway. To be fair though, he did very much age out in regards to behavior.
-
I feel you but we could also make an argument that Bryce has held back the wrs.... 160... I get your logic but I wouldn't say our wr room is that diar compared to there's. Chase is a stud but Higgins to me is ok. That oline is horrendous and the last time he had a decent rb was Delaire at lsu.
-
No, I mean pre-scrambling. That poo would literally have been pre-college. It's just been a scale of how scrambled he has become since then.

He did lead the league in passing yardage in 2023, granted that was back when Tyreek Hill was like a video game cheat code on an NFL field.
-
Yeah, I get that being potentially anti-semitic if you tell me that was the intent of the motion but where is the context in that clip?
-
When you point it out, sure. I've seen it. If I was him in that situation would I have picked up on it? Honestly, no.
-
If you listen to teammates going back to SF he was always a complete nut. Not always in a really bad way, just a general nut. I think the steadily increasing platform amplified his ability to broadcast what a complete nutter he was, therefore all the extra press followed. The only really bad poo that he truly did was creating some locker room rifts a couple of his latter stops. That's the kind of poo that will really make you wear out your welcome. Sounds kind of similar to all the stuff that is coming out about Chris Paul and his split with the Clippers in the NBA. Eventually you aren't a good enough player to deal with all your BS.
