  2. Didn't Drake London run in the 4.5s too? That ain't slow if it's real game speed and not combine prep speed.
  3. Didn't the Giants win their last Super Bowl after going 9-7?
  4. He’s been Top 8 in most important statistical categories since he came into the league. id take that form of mediocrity all day.
  5. No doubt aided by home field advantage and a lesser opponent due to a higher seeding simply because they won a bad division. Doing rankings sheerly by record instead of giving division winners automatic home field advantage isn't a negative IMO ever. Yeah, teams with losing records winning a bad division is only an occasional issue. But rewarding a team for having a better record is just a good thing IMO. Give the division winners an automatic bid, but do seeding purely by record. It's just the fairest way to set up the bracket while still protecting the integrity of the divisions. Yeah, occasionally a team with a better record will be left out because some worse team won a bad division. Oh well. Now that team is gonna have to go on the road against one of the best teams in the league instead of having an IMO unfair and unearned advantage of a home game and a lesser opponent simply because they were the best bad team in a trash division.
  6. Bu sometimes that "losing team" quiets the noise by winning their plyoff game. The NFL has an unfortunate habit of reacting to things that happen once in a while by making changes that affect thngs all the time. (like adjusting th rules anytime Tom Brady got hurt)
  7. They used a lot of 2015 and 2017
  8. I think the Dallas one should have been Luke picking off Romo on Thanksgiving
  9. Yikes Wonder if the loss of Adam Peters is gonn have an effect on them.
  10. Today
  11. Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the contract. IMO, he's a borderline top 10 type of CB when healthy and he's missed damn near half of the games in his career. I hope it proves to be the correct decision but damn... it's a really tough sell to convince me that making him the NFL's highest paid DB is a wise move.
  12. The draft isn't a vending machine where you insert a pick, press A3, and out pops a franchise cornerstone. It’s more like a gacha game - you turn in a premium (or non-premium) ticket, hear the fun little jingle, and wait to see what you pulled... without knowing how strong it'll actually end up. League-wide, the average draft hits on about 30 - 40% of its picks when teams have a standard seven selections. So if you walk away with 3 - 4 real contributors... that's considered a solid class. Hitting on 4 out of 11 is right in that range. To be clear: this isn't some veiled endorsement of Tepper, Fitterer, or Rhule. It’s simply an honest accounting of which players from that class are still with the Panthers and heading into their fourth year - and thus outlasting the average NFL career. Just trying to lean more toward more critiquing with clarity rather than lighting it all on fire for the spectacle of the flames.
  13. Please do not forget that everything the NFL does is for the increase in revenue. If a big market team draws more money [ticket sales, betting revenue, TV ratings & etc.] when they play at home versus on the road in the playoffs, you can safely be sure the NFL knows & will act accordingly. Just like the draft lottery proposal, if the NFL can capture TV ratings for it, they will.
  14. For a WR, 6'4" 220 would be decent size--if you hit the 235 range, I imagine that it costs you speed. I think his speed was an issue. He ran a 4.48 at his pro day. At the combine, he weighed in at 219 (NFL.com). Mike Evans weighed 225 as a rookie and is also 6'4". He ran a 4.53 40. My main and only concern about TMac is between his ears--and it could be nothing. He seems a bit silly, and it seems that he is in celebration mode when I want him to be in "let's get to work" mode. Again, some people are just like that, but when they put the helmet on, they get focused. I want to see that "dawg" before I get overly excited. The pick is growing on me, and if you broaden the scope to consider what was available in free agency and the draft, it makes sense. I don't think we got lesser Edge rushers in the second and third rounds, frankly, than what we could have gotten in the first.
  15. Lol so a hypothetical division with the Chiefs, Bills, Rams, and Eagles would produce a 9-8 division champ after they beat each other up and no home playoff game? That's ridiculous. That's why it's the way it is. You might as well get rid of two division games while were trying to water down the product so the NBA doesnt look so bad by comparison.
  16. I don't see it. Tampa's receiving corp will be the best in the NFL this season. Still waiting on old man Evans to slow down, but it ain't happening. Panthers secondary just can't slow them down. And Jaycee will likely be on IR that late in the season.
  17. Could have used 2015 for just about everyone of those. Almost same schedule if you include the playoffs.
  18. Yep. Agree mostly. I think a QB needs to lift the offense, but not necessarily carry it. I miss the pure passers like Marino, Moon and Jim Kelly. I like my QBs to be elite passers. Not elite athletes.
  19. Profootballtalk.nbcsports.com article said it was currently at 7th but it somehow had alot of fake money bc they dropped his old contract completly and replaced it with this one so the new money put it more of 10th but with alot of new qb contracts in coming years they said by end of next year it would be closer to 15th in the league. All stuff i dont understand but they said initial report was inflated numbers and not real new money. Either way will be interesting to see if he grows or sinks just hoping byoung can put up numbers close to his this year and i think panthers make playoffs if he does.
  20. Not sure where you are getting that from. That is a $53 mil AAV which would be in the back half of the top 10 in pay.
  21. This is the thing that most Panthers fans can't comprehend because we are a franchise that so rarely ever has draft success. Also, this one is still largely in question. If Tremble never really improves, he is a JAG. If Horn doesn't stay healthy or ascend, he was a bust. Then it goes from an okay draft by Panthers standards to just another bad Rhule/Fitterer draft. It's also such a strange period to be grasping at straws to try and justify as being good. Hindsight has thoroughly proven the architects of that era as being wholly incompetent if not outright charlatans.
  22. Is this the Linville goes off rails thread?
  23. Very cool. Only 2 changes Id make. Week one should have been Jake to Rickey and week 13 should have been X Clown
