  1. Past hour
  2. He got beat out by Bridgewater who was literally signed off the streets from coaching HS football last year and Kyle Allen this year. I hope there’s better options out there
  3. This initial cut is important - it signals the team has very little interest in bring back any of these players to the practice squad
  4. I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range. His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc. is the going rate. It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement. Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers. How many would you consider a success? They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle? FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues. If not, they'll cost a fortune. Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level. There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance. Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee. I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about. It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk. Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk. You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue. You have a strong chicken little complex with this team. Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper. If his knee was really an issue they would have waited. That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
  5. The only mildly surprising cut is Jacoby Windmon, solid young special teams player. This would suggest that Krys Barnes will make the 53
  6. Hendon Hooker released. Possible back up if Dalton goes down.
  7. Wanted to draft him on day 3 in April, but instead we took a DT and TE.
  8. If we are really keeping as many WRs on the roster as people expect we can only afford to have 2 QBs on the roster.
  9. I can't fathom there is a living human man between the ages of 20-40 with two arms and two legs that wouldn't be better than Jack Plummer.
  10. I mean, he just learned under Reid and Mahomes. He's actually started games in the League too. I think he kind of got a raw deal in New England and I'm certain he's only grown from that.
  11. If I were a bubble player I wouldn't consider myself to have made the team unless I'm still on the roster at the end of September. Always a lot of movement during that first month or so.
  12. Zappe would be an awesome PS guy
  13. Hendon Hooker and Bailey Zappe were both cut. I haven't seen McCord's name yet. If looking for a younger veteran, DTR also got let go.
  14. yep, the worst cut is making the 53 man for just a couple hours.....and then getting cut. I'd rather go out with the first group.
  15. Looked good on camp against the Eagles D? fug it, sign him. Gotta be better than our backups.
  16. He is a better PS prospect than Jack ever was.
  17. Whew, hard decisions made today. Morgan and Canales must be exhausted.
  18. Well, you'd like to think there's a better plan in place for QB1 but if you don't have one, yeah.
  19. I wouldn't assume Fitzgerald has won the kicker job just yet. We could very well opt to bring in someone else once the cuts start coming in.
