  1. Past hour
  2. After the preseason I think all Dalton can do is be the tank commander. He seemed like he didn’t want to be here.
  3. Our offense is pretty much set. Slot in a rookie/vet that plays marginally better and we can win games. This is not the offense from last year. We are not as bad as we looked last game. Bryce’s inability to play consistently well and develop has really hurt us making our defense better because if he doesn’t solidify his starting position we will have to spend another first round pick not on the defense.
  4. Ride with Bryce unless there's a Rams game pt. 2, then you'll have to bench him again. I think everyone agrees a second benching means you're done here. Send Dalton out there for morale and improved play, sign someone off the street if needed. Draft a new QB next year or find a stop-gap QB in the offseason and try to focus on defense during the draft.
  5. Thats going to happen even if he plays bad. Stop worrying about what others say and worry about what the team does. Only they control what happens.
  6. Whatever Young's fate here will be will take place after this season.
  7. I have a feeling Bryce is gonna play well because it is the Cardinals and people will once again say that he is back to his end of season self.
  8. Then they will have to trade. No one around can carry half a seaon let alone more.
  9. This is the answer. It doesn't matter how bad the defense is. We can't score. We can't win.
  10. Yeah... One bad game for Bryce meaning he's not a pro and should be replaced, after a strong finish to last season is a little premature. But the clock has started for sure. If anything, we've seen that he needs to do something to have a better start to the season. That is not sustainable. Truth. The team ain't ready. The defense ain't ready. Derrick Brown didn't even look good. Just because you throw a lot of resources into a position group doesn't mean you've magically fixed it. And saying the team is using resources to make a specific QB look serviceable is insane to me. If they're using draft picks at a position, it means they didn't have good players at that position. If they're using free agency to get good players at a position, it means they didn't have good players at that position. It IS NOT to make the QB look serviceable. It's to make the TEAM look serviceable. Football isn't a sport where money necessarily fixes the problem either. I remember the Panthers spent a lot of money on the brother of another olineman, and that was a complete disaster. Paid a lot of money to a HC that was fired half way through his first season and no other team hired him, even though there has been unusually high HC turnover in the NFL. Throwing high draft picks at a position doesn't mean you fixed the problem either. Remember Kelvin Benjamin and Funchess with Cam? Mingo, Marshall... I think after week 4 we'll have a better idea of what we have. This is an extremely young and new group of receivers. The only receiver out there that had ever caught a pass from BY last Sunday was XL. And he wasn't exactly in prime form. I guess if you want to count J. Sanders and Tremble, then... Ok.
  11. Bryce sucks, but he has been throwing it downfield somewhat consistently over the last year. 12th in ADOT in Week 1, last year he was 5th/27th among QBs with at least 50% of their teams dropbacks (only Herbert, Love, Darnold, and Lamar Jackson were ahead). He was 2nd in Big Time Throw % too. Last week he had 4 20+ yard throws (0 completions) and 9 10-19 yards. Compare that to say, Jared Goff, who was in a similar spot last week as far as needing his team to rally and score - he only had 1 throw of 20+ yards and 6 10-19 yards. So Bryce is definitely a poor downfield thrower, but he has been a willing one, especially since returning from his benching.
  12. We are in the craper and will be until this team has more talent and better coaching. They have a long way to go.
  13. So, we're in the crapper for another 2-3 years minimum And that's only if things start improving in the choices this franchise makes Yeesh
  14. I'm not sure they will start BY again if he's benched. They weren't going to the last time. It may be Hooker time.
  15. We have a bad vet that doesn't have good availability. If they sit him then we will see him again just like last year. Rinse and repeat
  16. I'm surprised so many of you believe that Bryce has trade value. I don't think that many teams in the NFL are looking at him and saying he'd fill a major void in our roster. He's not going to start on another team in the league. I don't even think too that many teams would want him for a backup. If the Panthers are wise they'll refuse to pick up his 5th year option at the end of the season. So, 2026 should be his last season with the team. Why would a team pick up the salary of a subpar QB in 2026, when they can get him at a much more reasonable deal in 2027 (probably as a backup and not a starter of course)?
  17. We already have a bad vet on the team. They will let Young crash and burn one more game before he's benched again and will ride Andy for as long as they can until the season is over. If Andy goes down then I'm not sure what they do.
  18. This pic would be better if it showed XL dropping the torch as they hand it to him like he does half the passes thrown his way
  19. What to do: Start scouting the QBs hard in the draft - if you don't like any of them, don't reach for a QB, trade down to let another team reach for a QB and rebuild the defense. If there is a QB you like, take him (we should have a top 5, maybe top 3 pick at the end of the year). If we don't draft a QB, let Bryce tank again the following year for another top 5 pick and repeat above before letting Bryce walk (if we can get a 5th rounder or better, trade him I guess). We are so many pieces away from a Superbowl team right now - what I don't want to see is us desperate for a QB and draft another awful QB high in the draft.
  20. Problem is people are thinking about what they would do as the best thing for the franchise. In reality it’s about what the GM/Coach are going to do to keep their jobs. FYI they don’t care about draft position.
  21. And let's not forget that 10 of the Jacksonville points were a result of a bad BY pick that gave Jacksonville a short field and the failed onside kick that gave Jacksonville a short field
  22. Unfortunately, and given the backup situation, there is no choice but to play him either to the trade deadline or all year i do not think Dalton could last a season there aren’t QBs, serviceable QBs, sitting around waiting for a call that know the offense the time to do something was at season’s end if they felt he was fool’s gold that said 1. I’d start him and try to salvage something he can do to get to the trade deadline 2.ie Get him to perform as best possible and trade him at the deadline. San Fran may need a backup It is better for him and better for the franchise 3. Accept that Dalton starts for at least 4 games 4 look at practice squads, free agency everywhere and bring in a younger player and bring him up to speed while Dalton plays Run the ball short passes 5. Roll around in the poo they created until season’s end 6. Draft a qb in 2026 sad thing, even if he performs better, his floor is his ceiling
  23. At least we didn't trade away multiple 1st and 2nd round picks for our defense to suck like we did for Bryce to suck... Bryce is the reason we have been awful since week 1 of 2023 and will probably be awful for at least another 2 seasons after he is gone. And not sure why people keep saying BC plays better than Icky... Sure, BC is probably a slightly better pass protector than Icky, but people fail to realize Icky is one of the best run-blocking tackles in the league. Want to know why Chuba ran for so many yards last year? A big reason is because of Icky. Want to know why Chuba didn't do much running the ball last week? A big reason is because of Icky (and Bryce being so bad Jacksonville wasn't worried about the pass)...
