I don't understand why this whole thing is so tough to understand, it's very simple. Neither Thielen nor his wife wanted out of Carolina, it's why he signed the new deal to come back here this year. The Vikings had WR injury issues in camp, when that happened they then needed a WR and reached out to us to try and get Thielen. Once that happened, it changed everything, because it was an opportunity for a player who lived his whole life in that state, to go home for his final NFL season. Once that was on the table, yea, of course he's going to then "request a trade", but what people don't seem to grasp, is that Thielen didn't just come out and ask Morgan to trade him. It ONLY happened because the Vikings became WR desperate in the weeks leading into the season, but I'm a million percent convinced if they didn't, we'd never have considered trading him and he wouldn't have asked for one. It was a very unique situation that arose because of another team's needs, not Thielen's doing.

Eh...I am not gonna call anything after one draft. It looks slightly better so far but I am not prepared to say good.

Yeah maybe. Who the fug can do anything with Tepper edicts to factor in? By the time you placate him you are in round 4. But regardless. For me, I promised I wouldn’t judge either GM or HC in that first year. And I didn’t. In the end maybe instead of Tepper poisoning last year it was Dan making mistakes. I feel like maybe he is learning from them, because this draft looks really good to me.

Actually the first post that seems to have been negative was about the Texans dropping to 0-4. For once none of us negative nancies about Bryce initially derailed the thread. Then things went into the predictable comparison of only the last half season of games for both QBs...

Fan belief in him is substantially less important than his belief in himself. That seems to be the issue at the moment, he has very little of that.

I don’t know. The giving up 2 million dollars is a bit extreme. Who doesn’t need two million dollars?

There isn't 5 pages worth of discussing AT in Min. I think it just happened the normal way, someone brought up Bryce being at fault in reference to past AT/current WR performance and then the anti-Bryce contingent started in on the homers. Pretty much the usual.

The issue with that "lightning in a bottle" is that's too close to Dilfer/Foles/Delhomme/etc for a top 5-10 QB contract. It's crippling to the roster eventually at that price tag. It's a pricier QB purgatory. Bryce's ceiling was supposed to be a Brees type guy. Sees the field extremely well, makes quick decisions with the ball and analyzes the situation pre-snap at an elite level. None of this has transpired at all. Not to mention, his physical ceiling is far closer to a non-athletic Doug Flutie or poor man's Colt McCoy. That is not a long term NFL QB.

Sure, but again, the Vikings still put up 350+ yards of offense while putting up that 48. They were in the offensive dreamworld. See some of that 2015 Panthers game. That's when an O can really have some fun. I'm not saying TJ is great. But the Vikings actually have a TE. AT doesn't really have a place in that offense. He can't play on the outside. He isn't actually a slot WR (too slow and no YAC).

Yeah that 48 points hung was because of the defense. Wentz was more a game manager last week. TJ Hockenson hasn't done much this season either. I watched that game and the Vikings suffocated the Bengals. The defense caused 5 turnovers, one being a pick 6. I was speaking to the macrocosm not the anomaly from last week. We agree on AT’s age.

Absolutely this. And often the "great" #2 is only mediocre elsewhere. It's worth noting a good #1 also elevates those players. And imo TMac drawing coverage is going to have that effect.

to me, Trevor and CJ (what we are projecting with this post) are what people want to claim Bryce is. If you put enough talent around Trevor and CJ......you can win and compete. And I think you can. It just will be inconsistent. But w/ great talent can a Trevor or CJ get hot and make some nice runs? I think so. Maybe you catch lightning in a bottle. I don't think Bryce projects as that. His ceiling of play is just way too different than those types. They have tools he doesn't and their good days can just be better.

I think this is true. He is still showing flashes, but his consistency is shot imo. I hope they get him OL help.
