Yeah I mean, he handled it the way a coach should handle it, not the way angry message-board fans want it handled. No one here is involved in the inner workings of this team and any guesses as to what's said behind closed doors are just that: guesses attempted to be passed off as fact, i.e. confirmation bias. People don't need to a coach's press conference to be told the QB and the defense are historically bad.

And this'll end up being one of the three or four closest games this season...

A 65 is one of your best grades. For most teams, that's one of the worst.

You're delusional if you think a coach in his first game is going to say "well Bryce sucks, he cost us the game himself, he's 5-foot-2 and he throws like a girl." That's never going to happen. There's a level of respect in the NFL coaching ranks, and really at any level in sports, where coaches aren't going to give fans the pound of flesh they demand after one horrible game. It's unrealistic.

Unless the Panthers forfeit, Mahomes will get his 250 yards and four TDs and take the last 3 quarters off.

I'll put a pin in this discussion by saying that I really hope the team considers forfeiting a few games this season, including the next one. They definitely need to forfeit against Kansas City and spare Charlotte the ignominy of the NFL's first 90-point loss. The Chargers and Bucs are hanging 70 on their own, too.

When you have the worst 45-man active lineup every week, no coach can win with that. He can't scheme talent. You have the worst QBs, worst DL, worst LBs and worst DBs no matter who is on the other side of the field. In all 16 games remaining, the 10 best players on the field at any point will not be wearing Panthers jerseys.

I don't disagree, but this team is different. They're going to set every possible record for futility on offense and defense, and you can't count out several interception and fumble returns to get past 60 points in the first half.

They're gonna get No. 1 in 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, 2030, 2031 and 2032 at least. There's every reason to believe we're in for a 50-game losing streak at minimum.

I mean entering week 2, this is unquestionably the worst defense in NFL history. The records for fewest points scored, fewest first downs, fewest third-down conversions, most points allowed, most first downs, and most third-down conversions in a season will all be absolutely obliterated this year. They may not score 50 points all season and there's no way they don't allow less than 600. And to top it all off, the Chiefs are winning 84-0 in November.

They're absolutely losing at least one game 80-0. There's no way it doesn't happen.
