  1. Agree completely on drafting instead of signing a WR. But I'm also prepared for Tepper to get impatient again and tell his cap guru to figure it out. Bryce showing signs is great, but an unspoken thing to me right now is what does this do to Tepper? He's seemingly been quiet and behind the scenes. Now? If he's "right" about Bryce? Worried he puts the pressure on again to build a winner NOW instead of the right way. Which will mean, throw all the money out there and make the cap work.
  2. Zone and prevent have no place at the end of games. Any QB with time is going to pick you apart, especially a team with Evans or a quality WR. Bend don't break works at times...but not when you have our run defense. All teams have to do is complete a couple of passes, and then they can run it down our throats to get into FG range.
  3. Thielen still has a decent amount left in the tank. He's far from washed, and plays like yesterday, or even the Raiders TD where he hurt himself show that. He's the vet presence we need to keep around next year, because then... Sign Higgins or draft TMac Thielen XL Coker JT/Tremble/FA TE Brooks out of the backfield Welcome to our best group of weapons since...2011?
  4. BY playing at this level for the rest of the season allows our offseason to look so different. If he can keep this up, he's QB1 next year and we build the team around him. Grab a WR, go all in on defense, maybe even competing for the shitty NFC South next year. If he falters for a couple weeks, back to the QB carousel. No pressure, Bryce. The entire next 3 years of the franchise rely on the next month of this season.
  5. And it's in the Carolina Panthers interest to remember and celebrate the best QB we've had, who literally gave this franchise life that's been dormant since he left. Zero reason why Cam shouldn't be celebrated, invited to these events, bang the Keep Pounding drum, etc. If Cam is petty on his end (possible), then he needs to do his own work and mend relationships. If it's solely from Tepper? fug off and stop being a bitch.
  6. Eventually gotta change the tune and pay your own. Pay a RB? Eh...but maybe they're looking at the Lions (or Morgan looking at Double Trouble) and wanting to make sure the run game is always there.
  7. 24 Games - 55 Catches on 111 Targets - 539 Yards - 0 TDs Getting a 4th for a wasted 2nd round pick is robbery. Even if he becomes a decent player, it surely wasn't happening here.
  8. College offenses, add in the amount of transferring, leading to a lack of development...the NFL is forced to draft on traits and then pray. Which is great, when the NFL also has no patience and top picks are expected to start right away.
  9. Maybe Matt Rhule was right with his "seven years" BS.
  10. I don't want to see a middling performance, even though that would be improvement. If he throws for 200 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT? Meh. Just enough for the staff/Tepper to trick themselves into trying to salvage him. I either want 300 yards, 2-3 TDs, no INTs, and a win...or the worst QB play I've ever seen in my life. Definitive answer on how he bounces back...not a "well, maybeeee".
  11. Welp, Bryce it is. Dalton sprained his thumb. Hope everyone is stocked up on alcohol.
  12. Only positive in playing him now, is hopefully they don't get the idea to trot him out next season. Play him now, let him suck, take the 7th round pick you can get for him after that. Maybe he'll have a magical Darnold/Baker renaissance somewhere else, but it's never happening here.
  13. Harbaugh is possibly the only way this team would've gotten turned around. Tepper was too big of an egomaniac to even listen to Harbaugh, who is crazy enough to have probably wanted this job. Only way this team gets fixed at this point is pure dumb ass luck.
  14. The decision around Bryce could speak volumes to the new Front Office. If we hold onto him and try to trot him out again next year after sitting, pack it up we're never changing. If we finally acknowledge he's a sunk cost and ship him out for literally whatever we can get? Maybe we have a shot at being competent again.
  15. Not that we don't already know this, but Mingo basically being a receiving option AFTER an UDFA like Coker after two weeks, yikes. Just cut that man and don't even bring him to camp.
  16. Dan gets 3 years IMO to prove it. Same with Canales, so they're safe. For the team... 1. Get the 1st pick 2. Trade down from the 1st pick, collect a haul (preferably Bears style with picks and a proven player) 3. Act like Gettleman and draft Hog Mollies and defense 4. Re-sign Dalton or a similar bridge QB, draft a QB in the middle rounds to develop 5. Win 5-7 games next year, take your swing at another high draft pick QB in 2026 if needed
  17. Ian's rookie year...2018 went poo goes downhill. Problem 1, Tepper. Problem 2, Ian Thomas.
  18. If he has no intentions of re-signing, which I would assume we know at this point, trade him for whatever you can get. Hell, if nothing else, just let him know we'd love to have him back and go after him in FA while picking up a pick for the rental this season.
  19. Zero scientific method to this, but thought about it recently. I almost think it's a *bad* thing to be a 5 star recruit, "the man" at your big college (Alabama, Ohio St. Clemson), etc. in today's world. Not including some older guys like a Stafford here, but out of all of the franchise QBs in the league right now, how many fit the 5 star recruit & 'Bama model that gave us Bryce? Is Stroud the only franchise guy who was highly recruited & had big school success? Mahomes (Texas Tech), Allen (Wyoming), Lamar (L'Ville), Burrow (transfered), Love (Nevada), Herbert (3 star) Meanwhile the big recruits and big schools? Bryce, Fields, Tua, TLaw Rambling, but maybe there's a weird correlation to 5 star QBs not panning out.
  20. If we stack a couple more losses up, trade whoever that can bring any value. Outside of the OL for various reasons or Derrick Brown, there's not exactly a foundational piece or cornerstone on this team.
  21. I hope so, would be the first time he's shown any emotion. Buddy's wife asked us the other day if we even care anymore because we never yell, get mad, etc. I would LOVE to yell at the TV again instead of the apathetic shrugs I've given the last couple of years.
  22. Old friend Bill Voth had a tweet yesterday, basically alluding to it being Tepper's call. Screenshot from the "All or Nothing" episode where Tepper tells Hurney to bench Cam.
  23. Ideally... #1 pick, trade down, collect picks. Build the rest of the team & depth, take a QB in the 2nd or 3rd that Canales likes, sign a Vet to play next year. If the 2nd or 3rd round guy hits, beautiful. If not, keep playing roulette in the draft until we find the guy.
