We have the 8th not the 7th
-
-
Price wont go down because there is still a ton of teams in a demand for a QB and 2 of them are as rich as Tepper but in reguards to trade assets
-
Your still only giving up 3-4 picks Yes, its less of a guaranteed. But you make that deal for Watson. You are essentially taking the entire defense away, and mow have 0 picks to fix it, and 0 cap to fix it. You now have Watson, playing behind a patch work at best OL with 0 picks and 0 cap to fix it. One thing to keep jn mind as well. We're banking on Moton, with Watson's deal and CMC's deal, we're not going to be able to afford him. So your litterally have no chance but to start Little, Daley, Paradis, a Chris Scott, and a Mike Remmers type OL your looking at, BEST case scenio. Your taking 8 steps backwards for 1 step forward. Watson behind that OL woupd get killed, and then you'd HAVE to rely on him to put up a min of 30 ppg and thats not even an exaggeration
-
Im all the way out on this. Rather trade for a QB in the draft. Seriously We have a OL eith only Paradis under contract next year. So with this deal, we'd have Watson behind one of the worst OL in the NFL and have 9ne of the bottom 3 Defense's in the NFL. With no draft picks and no cap space, these glaring holes wouldn't be fixed. Im sorry, no QB (Mahomes, Brady, etc) would carry that into the playoffs Seriously, how often have you seen a team with a bottom 3 in the league D make the playoffs? And we're not even talking the patchwork OL
-
You underestimate the value of a QB in the league today. And you clearly are just reading what the Panthers writers are saying, and not what Detroit people and National people are saying. Its all aboard taking a QB or trade down in their eyes
-
Well considering they were one of the competitive offers in the Stafford thing. I doubt they hesitate to offer 12 and next years 1st for 7 for starters.
-
This, And those charts go out the window when its involving a QB
-
Still think we're going to have to move up. While some Panthers beat writers seem to think there is a chance at 8. Most Lions people and Many National people still think the Lions go Lance at 7 if he's there, considering the Lions can get out of Goff next year, and sit Lance this year. Additionally, San Fran has been rumored to be in the QB Market. And word was, thst they were 1 of the strong suitors for Stafford. So you better believe they will be on the phone with Detroit at Lance there at 7
-
I wouldn't hold my breathe yet. Many National people and Most Lions people still say Lions would take QB at 7 if one of those top 4 were available. I don't think they'll be aggressive to move Up. But if one is at 7 im still getting the feeling they pull the trigger. Lions people are saying the ideal scenario for them is to take Lance at 7 to sit behind Goff a year or 2 until they can move off his contract. Also, lol at the people who called me crazy here when I said Stafford would go for a 1st.

Would you be happy with Leonard Williams in Carolina?
ncfan replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes But would I want him on what he is going to get paid? No -
Call Eric Reid that he's probably met once or twice. Or call up the guy who he consider's his big brother, who's he's looked up to since he's been a little kid?
-
Anyone think Watson could ask Cam about Carolina. And the way the way things down went with our FO and Cam may turnoff Watson? Watson looks up to Cam as a big brother. Both growing up in Atlanta. Watson played on Cam's sponsored 7on7 team before he even went to Clemson. Cam was a little sour about Tepper and Rhule this past offseason, and its still pretty Fresh. Could Watson call Cam up about coming here, and advise him not too? Just something else to think about

The Lone Ranger: What to do with Matt Paradis?
ncfan replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
He isnt the future. Isnt good, but did play better BUT, realistically we can't afford to cut him at this time. Cutting him opens some cap but not a Lot of cap. And remember, when you cut him, you have to replace him. And what your going to save really isnt going to find you an upgrade in FA. We have too many glaring holes elsewhere to really make a focus to draft one. Its better to bite the bullet and hold onto him for 1 more season -
This They have the #2 and 3 picks overal as starers. Here we've been talking itd cost 39 and next years 1st to Move just from our 8 spot (which we're offering in this Watson trade) just to get to 3. So now we're canceling 8, 39 and the 2022 1 to match that spot. Then you compare Teddy to Tua and Darnold. Tua and Darnold are still young, plus their rookie deals is a no brainer compared to Teddy's. So we're losing in a land slide already just if they offered their 1st 1 and the QB. Then you put in they have another 1 they can add in this class. AND the Jets have 2 1s next year if they want him bad enough. This is like you or me in a auction for something we like, but David Tepper is across the room bidding. If Tepper wants it, you or me don't have a shot.
-
If the Jets or Dolphins really want him and see that offer, theyll laugh.
-
Another mid rd guy I like

Todd McShay is CONVINCED we will move on from Teddy
ncfan replied to JABANOG's topic in Carolina Panthers
The thing is Rhule can say "we need a QB" all day long. But if we can't get one due to our position, well, we're stuck. There are plenty of teams that Need and want QBs as well, and can offer More. -
Let's say you are Deshaun Watson, bias aside, where do you want to go?
ncfan replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dolphins would be #1 for me They were a 10 win team with Fitzpatrick this past season. Its Florida, so no state taxes -
Deshaun WATSON Officially Requests Trade from Texans
ncfan replied to ncstatekwi's topic in Carolina Panthers
What are you offering to beat out the Dolphins or Jets if they want him. Dolphins have 3, 18, Tua, and can offer future 1st Jets have 2, Seattle's 1sts for 2021 AND 2022, and can off their 1st for 2022, and Darnold Now what are you beating that with? -
