  1. Drop the trap game please. There is no way in hell after the embarrassment Philly put on us last year are they overlooking the Eagles. One of Rivera's greatest attributes is he was a former player. He knows the week to week mindset and makes sure NO ONE look past the Eagles. He makes sure we keep with the "Our most important game is our Next game" mentality.
  2. Great Job again Jeremy but you know that. I spend all day, literally, at work (8am - 10pm) and when I see your podcast I wait till I am off to listen to it. Don't want any distractions. You and Sammi Jo do a wonderful job and I love the interviews. What an great compliment to R. Proehl "Smooth as all outdoors". Our receivers as so blessed to have RP. There are some that want to hang the "Bust" label on Funchess. He's what 21. Still growing. He has a great coach, a good partner in KB and I think very soon he is going to start paying dividends. Once again. Thanks for the great podcast.
  3. Saying this would change a trap game to serious motivation for our defense. I would think.
  4. You make it sound as if Allen is some second tier wannabe. This guy is a 5 time Pro-Bowler and the current active sack leader. If you want to do the wishful thinking, Pray Hardy doesn't experience a career like Allen. I don't think it is nearly as far fetch as you portrait it. Our pass rush gets significantly better with Allen and if CJ comes back after the Bye week, we might just have something. I would imagine Allen is going to wing it pretty much this weekend. Get the terminology down in the bye week and start to be a force by week 6. Is he going on a 20 sack season?, don't think so but I clearly believe he'll have more than 5 1/2 he had last year.
  5. Who said anything about downplaying 2013. I initially said that this DL could become one of our greatest defensive lines in our history. I don't think that is out of the realm of possibility. For the record I loved our DL with Hardy and Johnson and the two rookies. God only knows how great they could have been last year. But the fact is, that never happened Allen could easily bring to the table everything Hardy did. Let's not forget it hasn't been too long ago that Jared Allen was the top DE in the league. Not long ago at all. With the right mix he could easily pick up where he left off. What Hardy didn't benefit from that Allen will. Short and Star are veterans that have a couple of years under their belt. So arguably better than they were as rookies in 2013.
  6. You are welcome to your opinion but I don't believe you can say that Jared Allen won't be as effective as Hardy was 2 years ago. A 5 time Pro Bowler getting a chance to rejuvenate his career. What do you bet he comes in with a new fire and determination to show he still has it. Add the fact that he has some solid interior line help. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get 10+ sacks in 13 games.
  7. Jared Allen with Star and Short keeping him free for one on one. We get Johnson back and this could be the best DL we have ever seen. Something that Matches the Pep, Jenkin, Buckner, Rucker days.
  8. Think I like the Cam and Anderson picture after the Norman pic.
  9. I was on the Bwegs train from the beginning so this was an awesome interview. Love his confidence. He might make the post Stewart transition smooth.
  10. He'll grow into one of the all time fan favorites here. Watch and See.
  11. Wegher performed as well or better in every week of preseason. When Stewart got barely a yard a carry last week. Weghers bagged 3+ YPC You play when you are told to play. Maybe they didn't play him with the first to keep him hungry but IMO cutting him before Fozzy is wrong. If you are going to keep the best 53 than keep the best 53. If Wegher is 54 then so be it. IMO he is top 53. I don't care if he was the last UDFA to sign with a team this off-season. He is a gem and we are going to find out one way or another. Hopefully, DG would prefer it in a Panther Uniform. I have been pulling for him from day one. Will I implode if he doesn't make it. NOPE but when he becomes a stud with another team. I will, along with many others on this forum, say I told you so.
  12. Honestly we might game plan and IMO we should. I hate the Patriots and beating them in regular season or preseason makes my day. But if it comes down to losing to them because Star, CJ, Short and Stewart all skip the game so they are healthy for game one. I won't fret too much if they win or not. Beating them in preseason mean absolutely nothing. Beating them in Week 21 sure the hell Does I'll bet most of our DL sits tomorrow night.
  13. Yep they just put a spotlight on him and he'll be playing football in September hopefully it is in OUR colors.
  14. I really like this lineup. The love for Cotchery is overwhelming sometimes. If the guy is on the sideline in the ear of rookie and 2nd year WRs then he isn't doing us any good. We have Ricky to do that. I think our roster has everything he can do on the field and most likely do it better. Too many are living in the Tolbert past. One of my favorite players but Ward makes more sense. Wegher;s is the real deal and we are going to regret it if we let him walk. I think what would solve all our concerns would be to let them get some time with the first team offense.See how mighty they are against first line defensive players
  15. Now that is a vision that is going to take a while to get out of my mind. uuuugggghhhh Jeremy in nipple shorts.
  16. Year or two before that was AE and we cut him. LOL
  17. I have been on the Wegher bandwagon since we signed him as a free agent. You don't get to see the speed too much in practice and granted it was 3rd string but damn. That boy has got some wheels. He kind of reminds me of Stewart. He looks as strong as an ox. I would to see him with the 2s or maybe even get a first team rep or two.
  18. Well we have all seen the camp superstar fizzle out so I won't put him on the 53 just yet. I am sure after 2 or 3 pre-season games and he plows a big hole for someone or catches a first down or two. He'll make it. My pre-season UDFA has been quiet as a mouse (Wegher) so might as well jump on someone's bandwagon. This guy is good as any.
  19. While I agree to a point this isn't a bad thing. I hope they don't go for the damn ball before the tackle is made. I hope they don't focus so much on stripping the ball they forget about the tackle.
  20. My take on Williams is, during OTAs and mini camps this guy was a sponge for information. I remember some pictures of him getting instruction and how he seems to be absorbing everything in the lesson. So if this guy worked at his craft trying to implement what he learned in his lessons. Why is it so impossible for him to be good enough to move to the left. While the sample (only 7 plays) is too small to make an educated decision. He clearly has made strides in improving himself. I am not ready to give up on Oher just yet. He has time to get comfortable and become the answer. If not, Williams may have enough time to get better and better. This stereotyping arms being too short or too long or guys being to big or whatever is stupid. IF the man can play the position I don't care if he doesn't have arms at all. If he can play, he can play.
  21. Hopefully, it is just shaking off some rust. No excuses but this was the first practice with pads.
  22. Get that connection between them. It is odd to see a WR look Cam eye to eye. Those are some big boys.
