  1. I have actually watched a couple of games this college football season and seen some interesting prospects other than the Young/Stroud/Levis/Hooker/Richardson talks. I expect to see risers and fallers soon.
  2. I think so many people want a QB so bad in this draft because we haven't drafted a 1st round QB since Cam. They believe the rookie is going to be our savior and turn this team around. I'm not convinced any have that "IT" factor. I passed judgment on PJ last year and much of this year. What I have seen is a lot of improvement with his accuracy. A couple of those throws he made to DJ across the middle where absolute dimes. The one DJ couldn't come up with was also a well-placed ball. His TD to DJ was money too. That's pretty impressive to throw that deep and hit our receiver in stride. Can't teach that. What I do like is he has a winner's mentality, and I am excited to watch the Panthers each week. Confidence is a big factor. This has been his first real opportunity as the #1 starter game in and game out. I don't think anyone should anoint him a sure-fire starter but nor do I think anyone should label him as a perennial journeyman QB. He has the tools and who knows with more experience how good he can get. Let's just wait and see how the season unfolds. I am sure we'll have a better assessment after 12 games. Worst case scenario we lose all these games (to the thrill of all the Tankers out there) but at least PJ keeps it exciting.
  3. If we end up at 3 and Detroit and Houston are in front of us, as they are now, I doubt they will trade down. They'll take Stroud and Young at 1 and 2. If we are further down the board, which maybe the situation, and somehow one of those two slips down to 3 and we try to trade up it is most likely going to cost us next year's 1st. I don't think they'll do it. Best bet is to take another position of need and maybe deal the two 2nd rounders for a late 1st rounder if someone like Hooker drops. Whatever we do we don't want to reach for a QB that may or may not be better than who we currently have on the roster.
  4. Well for all you bettors I guess you need to put your money on the LAC today.
  5. Totally agree. Reaching for QB just because we need a QB is really bad idea. Not only do we reach but we possibly pass up on a position of need.
  6. You have nothing positive to say on any post. Your rebuttal isn't a rebuttal at all it is just hating to hate.
  7. I don't call out posters very often but you are nothing more than a Troll. You have very little if anything to say in a positive manner. I have yet to figure out why you come on here other than to post negative comments. It's not like the OP just posted some obscure number. This is a legit number, nearly 6 more yards than the next long pass. PJ, whether you like him or not made a big play to a big play receiver and tied the game when most thought we were done. Why don't you give credit where credit is due. TROLL
  8. I find it funny that the Bengal fan base gives us more of a chance than most of the Huddle. I think this game is going to be a battle. Brown has been having a great season and look for him to cause a lot of trouble for Burrrow. If he collapses the pocket like I think he will Burns is going to get a couple of sacks. I think it is going to be close and Panthers pull the upset.
  9. Sorry to say but that's a weak argument. Many good QBs have come from small schools. Wyoming isn't a powerhouse by any means. Liberty doesn't scream perennial Top 25. The list could go on and on. I'm not a fan of McCall and said earlier if he is our only option at QB it would mean PJ had a great 2nd half. Secondly, I don't believe he has better tools than Corral and we'd be wasting a pick for competing QBs. If you are going to take a QB in round 1 he better be able to beat PJ and Corral out. Otherwise I would rather focus on a different position.
  10. When Luke and TD were running our show we took it to other teams. We didn't wait for the opponent to bring it to us. It was a great time especially defensively. IMO this is Wilks approach for the entire team. I think Wilks wants his team to bring it to the opponent and have them adjust to us not vica versa.
  11. The way I see it, if PJ wins that many games that we are out of the top 3 or 4 QBs I think we should focus on a different position. We already have a backup with Corral.
  12. I think Foreman and Hubbard are the key to this trade. If they can keep the 100+ yards per game going it will make the loss of CMC easier. I also believe we need to get Foreman under contract for a couple of seasons. We have three picks in the first two rounds and we need to make them count. Round 3 could also provide a starter if Fitterer and our staff do a good job. I have faith we can find 4 starters in the top 3 rounds. At minimum we need 3 starters from round one and two.
  13. I'd be onboard with this hire. I think you have to keep Campen and his understudy. Our offensive line as looked better than any line we've had in the past 10 years. Most of the credit needs to go to him.
  14. And whining about the team winning because you want a higher draft pick is any better than moral victories?
  15. Well, you might as well accept that this team is not tanking so Aussie Tank can have his way. It's a very shallow way of looking at things. Basically, if you are below .500 a month or so into the season, it's time to tank. We're not getting anywhere because of your illogical beliefs so just leave it. You want to tank the season, I don't believe in tanking EVER so we are clearly on opposite sides.
  16. Go tell the players and coaching staff these games are meaningless. You're thinking as a fan not a player. I got you think they should just throw the season away because we are two games behind the leader that we just lost to in overtime. Got it. The entire team from top to bottom including management isn't thinking about 2023. They want to win now and won't stop trying until they are mathematically eliminated. I don't know if you remember 2004. This team was decimated with injuries. This was the year Smitty broke his ankle right out the gate. I believe we were 1-6 and went on a tear. We won like 6 out of 7 and put ourselves in a position to make it to a wild card spot. You just can't give up because you have a losing record. I get if we are mathematically eliminated that we play younger players. Makes sense but until we are eliminated, they won't stop trying to win. I don't see how you don't get this.
  17. He had a terrible whiff on a blitz that nearly got PJ killed. I was not impressed by Brown's performance.
  18. You don't get it. First, Professional Football players and Organizations don't live around the draft. It is one part of a whole season. It's not like there is only ONE good player in the draft. There are other options to be considered. 2023 draft doesn't have that for sure Franchise QB. Tanking for the first spot does not guarantee you've solved your teams' problems. Second, it's called a loser mentality. Wilks is trying to establish a winner's mentality and you don't throw games when you still have a chance to do something. The Phillies are a perfect example. They were on their way to a losing record. They switched coaches and snuck into the playoffs. They Beat Atlanta and the Mets to make it to the World Series and are in a position to win it all. Granted Football is a one and done scenario but there have been several underdogs with "NO SHOT" at winning the SB, who actually win it. Who knows what can happen. Our division is up for grabs, and we are still in it. Because you have no faith and have given up on this team doesn't mean the rest of us have. We are playing better and actually are enjoyable to watch.
  19. Or maybe Goodell hired Hillary to make it go away.
  20. God forbid we actually compete in our remaining games. It's so much better to suck so we can have the draft pick of your choosing.
  21. He's well above Sweat. Hype is numbers, he does more than just numbers. It amazes me that so many of you value him as JAG. He's dynamic and considering he rarely has a counterpart on the other side he is quite amazing. You just can pick and DE in the draft and expect them to be better. Draft picks don't always pan out and you gamble quite a bit to get rid of him. IMO, we'll sign him to a long term deal.
  22. It's funny, I work with a lot of people that love different teams. We literally have just about every team covered within our organization. 95% of them would love to have Burns, many say he's a freak and super talented. You guys want to trade him away for 2 first round picks. We are then stuck with YGM, who is looking more and more like JAG and who? You do realize that Stud DEs are not easy to come by. So, while we have these two picks what happens to our defense when we have no one to rush the passer. Top picks are great to have but trading away your talent doesn't mean you are going to replace them in the draft. You keep your young talent and build on top of them. You don't trade them all away for unproven draft picks. MAKES NO SENSE
  23. So, we might as well tank this season, next season and the one after that so we can stockpile players until we have your approval to try to win the Super Bowl. There are several teams out there that could make it to the playoffs. Once in the Playoffs anything is possible. There have been several teams to win the SB from the WC position. It's not how you start the season. It's how you finish. I'd rather make the playoffs and give us something to look forward to than sitting back and hoping for a top draft pick. The players are going to play, they are going to win as many games as they can.
  24. I would put him on a short leash. Gonzalez is on IR so we really need to be patient with Pinerio unless he keeps missing kicks. The one thing is, if this gets to his head he could be finished.
