  1. Agreed 100% Any other team would be giving a 3rd round rookie valuable reps. It amazes me that so many want to put the blame for his performance on him instead of the inept HC. I don't know what Rhule's problem was with Corral but it was very clear that he wasn't going to give him a good look. There have been several mid round QBs to excel in the NFL their first year. The difference is those mid-round picks were put ahead of a journeyman QB on the depth chart. They were given valuable Reps with a competent line in front of him. They were given every chance to succeed. Rhule gave him every chance to fail. That IMO is a valid reason to fire him on the spot. Tepper won't but he should.
  2. And the running back gained 5 or 6 yards. Icky wasn't able to continue blocking but he took Dugger out of the play. Some of you all think that Icky is so big he should never touch the ground.
  3. I doubt they would purge Corral even if we draft a QB in 2023. But otherwise, I agree that the QB room will definitely look a lot different. It's just sad that we spent a good draft pick to get a player that the HC didn't give him an opportunity. Rhule keeps talking about building a program but drafts a QB and basically ignored giving him a chance to work.
  4. Well since we didn't play our 1st string offense at all minus Icky and Baker and Sam sat out. Being 3rd QB would have put him with the best O-line if he had played the 1st two quarters. Rhule has made it a point this preseason that Corral wasn't getting much Reps. The least he could have done was give him a competent line and give him a running chance. A side note, Corral lasted longer than PJ at the goal line. Outside of Mays none of those players that were on the field will be in our 53.
  5. First of all, He's a rookie. It is not going to be a cake walk and I am sure he'll give up his fair share of sacks this year. He'll learn Secondly, if he moves into the guard spot for a season it doesn't make him a bust. It just means he needs time to develop into a LT. Third, only a moron would call him a bust after his first official start at LT.
  6. Don't doubt he was injured but to the extent that he going on IR for the season. Rhule was awful quick to send him to the IR considering we still have 3 weeks until the beginning of the season.
  7. I doubt this injury. I think it is a move by Rhule to save PJ from being cut. For whatever reason Rhule did not want Corral to see action this year. It showed in his treatment of Corral from the get go. If we end up in the top of the draft we will draft another QB and have wasted a 3rd round pick for Corral. Rhule has turned this franchise into a freaking circus.
  8. Only in your dreams, bro. As much as I would love to see it. Not a chance. 2015 was a much better them and we were the worst *** and 0 team every. (Insert 5 through 14)
  9. Saying Icky, BC, Boseman, Corbett and Moton are starters. That leaves a rookie and Elflein as our only decent players. Fortunately BC can play tackle so we have 1 option at tackle. The interior line I would say Mays is probably the next best player. Everyone liked Pleasant last week but he looked poorly last night. If we have more than two significant injuries on this line and with the depth we have we're in trouble. No matter the position.
  10. I think our starters are solid and can play with anyone. I want to mention that our 2nd team offense with PJ at the helm did get down in FG territory against NE's 1st team defense. So we have a little depth but not much. I think if we have more than two significant injuries on the offensive line we're toast. You probably can say the same thing about the defensive line. I'm excited to see our 1st team defense. I have a feeling they are going to be fun to watch.
  11. I'd don't think he is worse than Elflein or Boseman. Give the kid some 1st team reps and see what happens. He has a huge upside and will only get better with time. Than again, Rhule's our HC so Mays will be on the sideline.
  12. He didn't look great, I'll admit that. Had several bad throws but he was moving the offense. The fumble was a 1st down. We had several miscues during his time at QB. I'd like to see him with a competent line. Rhule is screwing this kid up early and it is embarrassing to watch.
  13. I'm sure there is a player that can be cut to give him a couple weeks try out.
  14. My understanding is Rhule was notorious for doing that in college. Last thing we need is changing QBs every other week.
  15. This may very well be the case. I do think that PJ is better than Sam. We are on the hook for Sam's contract no matter what. I'd rather keep PJ and let Sam walk. This gives Baker that assurance that he's the man and if he screws up they aren't going to pull him for Sam.
  16. No, I am not suggesting it. I am suggesting that some teams actually give them an opportunity to start. I think Rhule has a thing about starting rookies unless they are 1st rounders.
  17. Well last preseason he was a stud and had little impact during the season. Maybe this year will be the opposite. Not much impact during preseason and a breakout year during the regular season.
  18. Fair enough, since we aren't going to know one way or the other until we start playing for keeps. Potentially
  19. Campen? I don't think you're giving Snow much credit. He always seems to do better than expected with the talent we have. We have only seen a limited sample of our defense but IMO our defense is going to give us a chance to win games. Our offense seemed to move the ball much, much better under McAdoo. We'll have to wait and see how we start before I call that weak.
  20. You give good reasons why we'll be better this year but most of this comes from the GM not Rhule. If Rhule hadn't been forced to bring in a much better staff I don't know if he's still here. We could agree that Rhule had some hand in bring in some of these coaches and I am sure he was in the process but I believe credit goes to Fitterer. IMO Baker was all Fitterer. What makes me think Rhule is the same as 2020 and 2021. His job is on the line. Of all 32 coaches in the league his seat is probably the hottest. Yet, 3 1/2 weeks before the season he is still dabbling with a QB controversy that 99 our of 100 people know who is going to start. Most teams put the best players on the 1s and make the players behind them show they are better. Rhule doesn't do that. He is putting players like Elflein and Jordan ahead of better talent. To me this is not the sign of a good head coach. Rhule just might save his job in 2022 but it won't be because his "process" is any better than before. It's because he has a great coaching staff who will carry him. This will be like Nagy who was carry by Peyton Manning. When Manning left Nagy reaped the benefits of Manning and got a couple of gigs where he proved the greatness wasn't from him but someone else.
  21. Well you won't have to worry about our beat writers. I think they got lost going to the practice. Seems most of the tweets were by locals.
  22. Tweets from the Patriots side seemed to make is sound as if we were getting stomp in the early part of the practice. The tune changed later though. A couple of decent videos. My favorite was the CMC blocking drill and than one on one which of course he won.
  23. I heard Mays was a pretty nasty player. I would be interested to see if he could handle the position.
  24. I watched part of this game on AFN. Trubisky did not look bad at all. The Steelers QB situation is much better than ours.
