I think he's shown enough that if a QB fell to us at our pick we'd either draft a defensive player or trade down for more picks.

I'm really tossed on Evero. He has had to play so many 2nd and 3rd string players I don't know if all of this is his fault. I thought his game plan for Dallas was terrible but considering the injuries he's had to deal with on defense I'm surprised we have any wins. His defense in the 2nd half of the Arizona game was pretty decent though things may have been different had Connor not gotten hurt. But that's football and it was a benefit for our defense. I also think things improved very much when DJ Wonnum finally got healthy. If we are going to replace him it should be either a well-established DC with a history of good defenses or a young DC from a good defensive tree. I think replacing him with a new DC from a team that is in the middle of the pack is not a good idea. I'd like to see him one more season with a better stock of players at his disposal. We barely addressed the defense in the draft or at least in the upper portion of the draft. I've said before that our free agent for 2024 on the defensive side were players that would complement Brown. When Brown went down, we didn't have a suitable replacement for him and made our free agents look like misses. Were still in a rebuild mode so I would give him 2025 to prove 2024 was a fluke.

Chuba Hubbard wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week
DaveThePanther2008 replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
152 YDS on the ground and two touchdowns and another 13 receiving. The second TD being the game winner, will do that to you. We are fortunate to have Chubba for the foreseeable future. He's getting better and better. I hope he wins a Pro Bowl spot. He definitely deserves it. -
Who here was NOT HAPPY we won yesterday....
DaveThePanther2008 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Outside of the Dallas game we have battled contending teams. Had we pulled wins in those games we would be talking about winning the NFCS. It's important for us to show we can win those games. I'm happy for the win and we'll worry about the draft later. Remember Luke Kuechly was pick at #9. -
Mcshay Unsure T-mac is a wr 1 or X..
DaveThePanther2008 replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
It will be interesting to see who is still available at #4. There could be a player someone drastically needs and will be willing to give up a nice haul to get him. Getting an extra round one pick in 2026 would be nice. -
First of all, I think we should fix as many areas as possible other than QB going into 2025. Young has played well the 2nd half of the season and needs more evaluation. I think DL should be our focus whether it is Graham or Carter with our 1st pick. I wouldn't be sad if we used our 2nd round pick on another D-Lineman. It will be much easier to get a WR on a one- or two-year free agent contract than to pick a WR that could be JAG. This also gives XL and Coker another year to develop. Our free agent picks in 2024 for the D-Line were, IMO, designed to complement Brown. Once Brown went out those players were mediocre. We need to have insurance in case Brown comes back and doesn't perform to his pre-injury play. Sadly, I think we should move on from Evero. He doesn't seem to have the heart for this team.

Has this game changed feelings about Young?
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Here's the thing that bothered me about Canales play calling that bothered me. Olsen said it several times during the game. Why wasn't he calling play action more. Having Young in shotgun wasn't helping our running game and gave the defense time to tee off on Young. I like Canales but play action needs to be more prevalent in our offense. -
Canales's game plan was horrendous. Dallas came at us from all directions and the ENTIRE team played poorly. Maybe a bit overconfident. This game reminds me of the beginning of the season. We'll see if we rebound next week or Bryce just had 3 good games.

Shout out for Chuba "Missile Crisis" Hubbard

Chugging Chubba -
As a fan why watch if you just want them to lose? While I understand that you want a higher draft pick, I can't turn on the game and hoping to lose. Especially this week. I want the Panthers to destroy the Cowboys.
-
I was believing that he was a bust but his performance against TB, KC and Philly has put me on his bandwagon. I just hope Morgan realizes that our offensive line has to be as good as this one is. Young will never be able to carry a team like Cam had to with a mediocre line. As players retire and move through free agency Morgan has to continue to give Young a great offensive line. IMO this will determine whether he'll be a franchise QB.
-
It's only meaningless to fans that are looking for our next draft pick. NFL players don't spend their lives working to be the best to intentionally play 50% to ensure a high draft pick. Each week when the whistle blows I want to see us win. I am not upset too much if we give a good effort and lose but I want us to win. The Cowboys are a Hated team in Panther nation and hoping we lose to them shows you're not much of a Panther fan.

What Exactly Caused Bryces Turnaround?
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm very optimistic about Young and hope he continues to improve. What I like. Seems to be trusting the play and getting the ball out quickly. Trusting his weapons and those weapons seem to be improving with him. He has a good offensive line and this must be our number one priority as long as Young is our QB. His height is not much of a problem. Equal amount of batted balls. His confidence grows each week. What concerns me. Will defenses figure out Young and he reverts back to his old self. Would still like to see him stretch the field more often. This is just a string of good luck. -
Updated 2025 draft order
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Champagnepapi704's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly I think our next win will be against Dallas. They are in shambles. They are, IMO, worse than we are. They were expecting to be a playoff team and we are in rebuild mode. I'd like to see us competitive against our remaining schedule and go from there. -
Updated 2025 draft order
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Champagnepapi704's topic in Carolina Panthers
Remember Tank for Bryce? That was going on for almost 2 years. How did that work out for us. Fight to win games and improve the culture. If we were to win games going down the stretch, it would give us fans some light at the end of the tunnel. -
Canales still not sold on Bryce?
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce, I admit has performed well is spots but has yet to have a complete game where he has moved the ball consistently. We can't have him do well on the first drive (probably scripted) and nothing else until after halftime adjustments. Secondly, Canales needs to open the entire playbook and throw deep like Dalton. If Bryce cannot perform the entire playbook than we need to look elsewhere for a future QB. -
I don't want him to fail but it doesn't mean he's not. 2 decent drives in a game doesn't cut it in the NFL. The NYG gifted a win for us. I'm glad we won but we won because the NYG are worse than we are. If given the opportunity to move on from him I'd take it.

LMAO look at it again. We know you want us to lose. You grab a player you slow him down. If he didn't grab him it's a catch. -

No he didn't. If he's not held he catches that ball. -

If that were a KC receiver there would have been a minimum of three flags.
