Mitchell Trubisky is the best play
DaveThePanther2008 replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've said before we have enough money tied up in Darnold and still paying Bridgewater. Trading for a Vet QB is like throwing poo at the wall and seeing if it sticks. If we are going to try Trubisky than make is as cap friendly as possible and do it. IMO he has the tools to be a good QB. As far as Mariota is concerned he's too injury prone and had a better cast around him in Tennessee than Trubisky had in Chicago. -
Panthers Vet QB options: A snip from the athletic
DaveThePanther2008 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am in total agreement. Bringing in ANOTHER QB to fix Rhule's ineptness is going to sink this franchise for years to come. If Rhule ends up trading all our stock this season and next. The Roster rebuild is stuck until 2024 and this is if we are lucky. Rhule was all in on Darnold now he should have to ride that wave all the way in. -
Panthers have reached out to Minnesota for Kirk Cousins
DaveThePanther2008 replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
We would damn near 1/2 of our money going to QBs. If you count what we still owe TB5 and Darnold's 5th year option plus Cousins quick math brings us to 50 mil in QBs alone. -
Tepper in the War room on draft day.
DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
That would be so sad since we all thought were getting a guy that came from a solid organization. His 5 or 10% investment in the Steelers must have been just that. He learned nothing about how a football organization should be run. -

DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed. Only hope and speculation My biggest worry is that Rhule gets us on the Cusp of a playoff appearance 9-8 or 10-7 and Tepper hangs on another year. It's also not out of the question since he was forcefully force to upgrade his coaching staff. An improved staff may help his cause. I am sure that is the only reason Rhule hung around one more season. -

I don't have an issue with how he manages with the picks he has. Whether trading up or down but I do (Hopefully Tepper does too) have a huge issue with Rhule playing with future picks. -

Would make #1 story on ESPN. Wouldn't it be epic. -

That is my worry. If he trades away our future to save his ass. We're fug'd. -

DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Last year Tepper made a point that we should never lose on a trade. (ie value points even or in our favor) This year he truly needs to protect the franchise's future picks. If Rhule wants to trade down and get a couple extra picks I can see Tepper going with the flow but beyond that. He'd have a say. -

DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah as they should be. Many don't get involved and are there for the press more than anything. I think Tepper needs to be there and ensure he doesn't screw the future. Rhule may ruin his season Tepper needs to ensure he doesn't ruin the franchise for years to come. -
Dan Morgan interviewed for Steelers GM job
DaveThePanther2008 replied to BurnNChinn's topic in Carolina Panthers
With Rhule having control of everything I am surprised Fitterer and everyone else hasn't resigned. Who wants to be a figurehead only if Rhule has power over everything. -
It's been stated many times that Tepper won't give his vote of confidence to Rhule. Many on here believe that Rhule may sell the farm to bolster his chances of staying beyond 2023. Rhule has ultimate control which scares the crap out of many of us. Do you think Tepper will be in the war room on draft day like he was last year? More importantly do you think he'll nix any trades that jeopardizes our future? (ie 2023 and beyond 1st round picks) In 2010 Hurney almost traded away our 2011 (Cam) pick but couldn't find any takers (praise god). I sure as hell will be furious if he trades that pick away and we end up in the top 5 next year. It would suck to see a team on the cusp of a championship end up getting a top 5 pick because Rhule sold out in 2022.
-
It won't be so nice when he trades our #1 next year for something unnecessary this year and the #1 pick goes to some team that raped us for the pick this year.

Everyone wants Rhule gone but, what if
DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed. I can't see Tepper holding onto him for one more year just to fire him regardless of the outcome of the 2022 season. This team under performed drastically in 2021. If Rhule shows he can run a NFL program with NFL coaches he might just save his job. I know most on here don't want to hear that but IMO that is exactly why the changes were made. Tepper to Rhule "You got one more season to prove you can run this team. Get NFL experienced coaches and make us a winning franchise" -

It would probably have to be the perfect storm for him to get everything right this time around. -
Trade Down or Trade Away Player(s)
DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Here's the question for all you Cap geniuses and I mean that in no disrespect. Say we don't trade him for cap reasons. He goes down in 2022 AGAIN. Now we are stuck with a commodity that will be severely devalued. Maybe all things considered and we take a chance to get rid of him, regardless of the cost, now. Possibly get a 2nd or 3rd for him. I love CMC and hope his two years of injuries are behind him and whether he stays here or not I hope he has a long and productive career. Fitterer has said, we will listen to any offer. -
I've always been a optimistic person when it comes to the Panthers. Each year regardless of what the reality may become I have to hope and pray that when the season starts we are going to be relevant. So here goes. Rhule may have come to his senses with the hiring of an upgraded coaching staff. McAdoo - We have the talent on offense to be good. McAdoo is an experienced OC and should be able to do what Brady couldn't and that was halftime adjustments. If he is competent we might just score enough points and be in many more games. Of all the hires this is my favorite. I think Campen is going to get our offensive line straight. i think in 2022 we'll see our 2021 rookies actually play and be productive. If Fitterer can get us an offensive linemen or two that has performed well this past season. (no reclaimation projects) Campen could turn our worst group into something respectable. Wilks did a great job when he was here before as a DB coach. This time around he has better talent. Teaming up with Snow could make our defense better than 2021. If we draft a QB than we allow him to sit behind Darnold and Cam (yes i hope we resign him to be on the team in 2022, I'm done with the PJ Walker trial). Let Cam and Darnold battle it out in preseason to see who starts. If we draft a lineman I would rather go with Linderbaum and get a stud at center and let Christensen play LT. Maybe even trade down a couple of spots and grab an additional pick or two and still get Linderbaum. I know many things must fall into place to bring this team back to contention but we have Rhule for one more season. Might as well hope for the best. Who knows maybe 2021 was an eye opener and he actually can be a good coach. (hears the entire huddle explode) But just maybe.

Awful? Considering we went to the Super Bowl with him. I kind of find it a stretch that he was awful. -
First of all there are several articles that these two could be forced to sell by the NFL like they did to Richardson. Secondly the constant pressure on teams to hire minority coaches is an annual topic. Teams don't come up for sale very often and it would seem to me that the NFL may try and get at least one minority owner. You guys freaking out about a simple topic is childish.
-
With the NFL looking into the scandal in MIami where the owner paid Flores $100,000.00 for each loss and other issues pertaining to what Flores has in his lawsuit. Plus Daniel Synder's problems in Washington. Do you think the NFL is going to push them to sell and if so do you think they will push minority owners? The NFL can make them sell the team but can they make them sell it to a minority?

Being the sole reason for our Mantra "Keep Pounding" would tip the scales for me too.

You could say Fangio was the orchestrator of Dom Caper's defense. But considering he had to bring us together as a team from inception I wouldn't argue.
