  1. You mean how some compared Fields to Mahomes? I don't think it is a far fetched Idea that Tremble could be compared to Kittle. As noted, he came from a similar situation and is rated as a better prospect than Kittle coming out of college. He was also rated as he 2nd best TE coming out of this draft. (At least on a few of the pundits.) Every year basically every player coming out of the draft is compared to a current NFL player. Some pan out to be as advertised. Some don't. I'll put my cap on as advertised. If Brady uses him properly and he shows he was under utilized at ND we could have 5 amazing targets on the field at the same time. Imagine Moore, Anderson, Marshall, Tremble and CMC going out for passes. Someone is going to be open or at minimum one on one.
  2. If Brown can be effective at 340 than I agree with Rhule to let him play with what he is comfortable with. That video of him moving around on the B-Ball court at 415 tells me he won't have any problem at 340.
  3. Even with all the question marks around Field you are implying he is a franchise QB. I think that is stretching it a bit. He might turn out to be a Franchise QB but he may also be an average QB as well. I like Darnold's chance of being a franchise QB more than I believe Fields will be one.
  4. No, a bust is where a player has been evaluated to be a great pick a la our latest bust Little. Burns would never be a bust. His talent and measurables would overshadow poor coaching. While he may not have stats because of poor coaching. He would not be a bust in any situation. Based on your theory if we cut Burns because of poor coaching and considered him a bust. However when he goes to another team performed as he has with us. He wouldn't be a bust. Those players were cut by our staff because they didn't them our top 53. They were picked up by other teams and performed well. Your opinion was they were a bust where my is that they weren't a bust but didn't make our team. Low round player that didn't make our top 53. My point is because we cut a player that was drafted in the lower rounds doesn't necessarily mean they were a bust. I just means they weren't the top 53 players on our team. Every year teams cut players and they end up on other teams. We do it almost every year. A team cuts a player and we sign them just as players from our team end up signing with other teams. If players from your top 4 rounds aren't on your team when the season start. You evaluated poorly. This was a continual problem with Hurney. We drafted far too many players in the top 4 rounds that didn't contribute. You can add Gettleman's to this problem as well. We'll have to wait and see if Fitterer falls into this category. From the picks we made 2 weeks ago. I'll be shocked if our first 9 picks aren't on the team.
  5. To make it clear to you. First thru Forth round picks should be starters and contributors. Based on your logic any player that was drafted and cut is a bust but I can think of two players we cut who went on to have pretty good careers. Hove and Mathis. I am sure that there are more.
  6. KEEP POUNDING is our mantra from one of our greatest players ICE UP, SON is classic And pretty much any other Quote from Steve Smith is in the top 10.
  7. This isn't college basketball where players go to school for one year and play basketball. He, I assume, graduated which means he had to attend class. I'm not 100% sure of this but aren't college players limited in the time they can practice and workout while in college. He'll have far more time to workout in the NFL. I don't know if many of you remember the 80's but during my time at ECU there was an article about weight training rooms across the country. ECU was behind only Oklahoma and Penn St (as I recall) in quality of Weight Rooms. ECU had one of the best in the country back then. I'm sure now that has changed.
  8. I don't agree with this. If you cut a 1st thru 4th round than that would be considered more of a bust. 5th through 7th rounders are in competition with everyone that was on the team last year (minus FA departures) and they may not make the team. They could end up on the P.S. or they may end up on another team and do well with them. Our goal is to keep the best 53 and because they don't make it with us doesn't mean they are a bust. Bust IMO is a player we drafted that was slotted to start or contribute majorly and they don't pan out. Little is a prime example of a bust.
  9. I think he's my UDFA that makes the team. Or at least I am pulling for him to make it. Moore could be a second coming of Norwell.
  10. It was more of a joke but Marty's ego might get him to bite to prove he was right about Little.
  11. Calling WFT... Hey Marty got a deal for you.
  12. Daley had his moments last year and his ability to play multiple position makes me believe he'll make the team. Little, IMO, is odd man out. I also think that Tremble could fill 2 positions (TE and FB) giving us the opportunity to keep 10 O-line me.
  13. If Brown and Moore ended up starting at guard and Christensen at LT would give us 3 rookies as our starters. Sign Moton to a long term deal. We have 4 of the 5 O-line positions address for the next 4 years. Throw in Tremble blocking from the TE or FB position our running game would be amazing.
  14. We have several players that have the ability to play multiple positions. With th players on this roster what would be your ideal line up? Mine, at least to start the season with Christensen moving out to LT later. LT Scott LG Christensen C Paradis RG Brown RT Moton
  15. I have big expectation for him. I think our running game is going to be incredible. When they try to stop the run our passing game will make them pay.
  16. Nevermind..... I was thinking Hoskins.. Yeah I loved the Hubbard pick. Sorry about that.
  17. It's hard to tell about Hubbard. The only clips they had of him were when he was in high school. I think he was a shot in the dark.
  18. Darnold 250 2TD 1 INT CMC 200+ Multipurpose yards with 2 TDs We get as many interceptions off of Wilson than he had all last year at BYU (4) and 3 sacks.
  19. I think it would mean more to the player that he coach contacts them than the GM. The GM doesn't deal with the player day to day.
  20. Horn has the highest expectation and with the loss of Samuel I see Marshall having a huge impact as well. Christensen is gravy IMO.
  21. I think with him on the field it will make our offense more dynamic.
  22. I wonder if they gave him a call before the pick and told him they expect a professional with no childish incidence.
  23. He'll be a perfect 3rd down conversion. I saw a clip where he went through the middle like he was blocking and snuck out for a huge gain. We'll have plenty of 3rd down conversion from other players that just about every time we use him. It will work. 20 or 30 catches for the season would be awesome.
  24. Jeff King a former Panther TE has joined the mix. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/panthers-request-permission-to-interview-jeff-king-for-assistant-gm-job
  25. Horn is a day one starter Marshall #3 WR Christensen Starting LT Tremble will see significant playing time as a FB and TE and maybe HB Hubbard will see the field giving CMC a blow Nixon the reigning Big 10 DPOY will at minimum be in the DT rotation. I don't see him starting but will see time at DT. DT is a position were we rotate players all the time. He'll see significant playing time. Taylor is a wild card. He may be a bust or may be a steal. Honestly I don't know enough about him to be confident one way or the other. We'll see after we start workouts what his ceiling in year one will be. Brown impressed Rhule in the Senior Bowl and will most likely start the season as a backup but as every season we'll have a O-line injury and he'll be ready to come in and start. What I will say that may make him a bust is that he cannot keep his weight down. I am sure the teams Nutritionist will be his best friend. Smith will have a chance to start as our PR specialist and get opportunities as the #4 WR. He may not see a lot of time but he'll have a decent stat line. He will also be in a position to move to the #3 spot when we let Anderson walk after 2021. Fletcher and Hoskins along with Taylor are the ones who I am not counting on to do much. How you figure only 3 to 4 really boggles my mind. Each of the players that we drafted are in the position of need and really have a great chance to make the team. I respect your opinion and I am sure you think I am a homer but I honestly believe this was a grand slam draft. In a couple of years will be the draft we point to as the one where we turned the corner to be a perennial winning team.
