  1. Thank God. We needed the Isles round 1.
  2. Cam's career would have been over much sooner if he was Bryce's size.
  3. I think the Panthers are going to do Panther things. I don't trust the guy who hired Rhule with the number 1 pick.l
  4. If you play on a granite surface like we do, the last thing you want to draft is a running qb. It's the same reason why signing Lamar would be awful. He will destroy his knee year one.
  5. That's not a problem. You're speaking stricly from the perspective of moving up after the combine. I'm saying that Josh McCown raved over CJ Stroud prior to any employment with the Panthers, so we can take that as authentic. He gets hired. In that interview with Reich he discussed the potential qbs in the draft, not a stretch. CJ Stroud by far had the best combine when it comes to qb related drills aka throwing the ball. AR is a freak though (he's my qb2) Young doesn't even participate. We move up in the draft before we see Youngs workout. Now the media is trying to paint this like we moved up to number one so we could take our time and go through this evaluation process. The reality is, if we truly felt that all these qbs were very close to eachother, then we probably would have just traded with AZ, kept DJ Moore, and would have gotten AR. This would have benefited Chicago in what they were going to demand in a trade if we did this. Fitterer said himself that if you move up to number one, then you better be sold on a guy, because you are going all in at that point. Fitterer said that prior to the trade. This isn't hard to put the pieces together, but it's good that they've thrown up good smokescreens. The reality is, if you look at the Panthers' actions it's pretty simple to see who they're are going to take. The media doesn't want you to know who the Panthers are taking because it's not good for ratings when it comes to the draft, that's smart business. That's all we're seeing here.
  6. It's not just that. When you combine that with the fact that our QB coach literally compared the guy to Joe Burrow weeks before he was hired, that can't be ignored. You don't think Reich discussed the draft class with McCown before he was hired?
  7. I still think it's Stroud. We moved up to number 1 right after CJ's combine performance. Our QB coach loves his tape. Had we moved up after Young's pro day I would be less sure.
  8. I don't understand how all of a sudden Billy B is a mastermind when he single handedly dismantled the Texans.
  9. I'm not the biggest Devin Townsend fan either. Not my cup of tee.
  10. I don't think Devin Townsend has anything to do with that song. It's Andy Gillon and Jeff Loomis on guitars with no vocals.
  11. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpePgQPhBk8&list=RDYpePgQPhBk8&start_radio=1 Strongly recommend.
  12. Yeah me too. It says I was a member since 2008 but it was longer. Back then there was the great account reset. I posted on the old Charlotte.com boards back in 2002 and then two or three years later I found the huddle.
  13. I would certainly hope so, there is a lot of pressure on him this year.
  14. Sort of surprised there hasn't been a thread on him yet considering the obvious. What should we realistically expect out of Marshall this year? Last season he had 28 receptions for 490 yards with 47 targets. That's an average of 17.5 ypc which is pretty strong compared to other wrs around the league. His production was limited in the first 4 games under Rhule, and slowed down during the last 2 games of the year. The Tampa game at the end of the year was by far his worst recording two fumbles in that game, his only two fumbles of the year. Marshall seems to excel as a downfield receiver in terms of ypc, but his lack of targets and catches point to separation/route running issues. Obviously there were QB issues as well and that didn't help his cause. This is a make or break year for Marshall. Considering his injury issues at LSU, his rookie season should be chalked up as a wash as it was about health and physical conditioning. This past season we saw some flashes with some big plays, yet he was remarkably inconsistent and seemed to disappear for long stretches. Considering the talent level of the new coaches, at minimum it would seem to be a failure of a season for Marshall if he doesn't at least have 50 catches this season. More catches likely mean a lower ypc average. I'd project around 13 to 15 ypc. On the high end this is 750 yards receiving and on the low 650 yards. This seems to be an appropriate minimum standard for his production that would justify securing him for the future. The kid has some big play talent, but fundamentally breaking the press and short yardage routes seem to be the primary area that he needs to focus on improving. Marshall also needs to pick up his play in the redzone. He is not a small receiver and has plenty of physical ability. One touchdown all season that came in a blowout loss in garbage time is highly unacceptable and also may point to a need to get stronger for contested catches. I think that an offensive scheme change will greatly benefit Marshall as well working with Thielen in terms of route running technique. I will leave it to discussion about whether or not we see him developing into a legitimate offensive weapon or going the way of Dwayne Jarrett.
  15. It means nothing. It's likely that other teams have Stroud number 1 too. This would only make sense if Houston was the only one calling about that pick. If we eliminated Houston from the potential of trading up...which they likely wouldn't be interested anyway it means that both Stroud and Young would be gone by pick number 3. If we spoke to Houston and wanted assurances of who they were going after why would that trade even happen...would be absolutely stupid on Houston's part.
  16. In the NFL, defenses will eat a personal foul call to enflict pain on the qb, especially in the playoffs. Be naive if you want to but that will happen to Young.
  17. In that case Shaq would definitely sell his number.
  18. Lamar Jackson doesn't care about going to a contending team....he wants his bag. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
  19. When watching Bryce Young there is one play that really stands out to me. The defender had him absolutely marked in a vulnerable position. Bryce Young releases the ball and the defender holds up thankfully. In the NFL this would have been a different story. If an NFL defender would have hit him in this same position it would have been lights out for Young. I am tired of the SEC and NFL comparisons. The NFL is full of SEC all star players that have been relentlessly training in the weight room for years beyond college. There is a huge difference in a LB at Missisippi St vs a 6 year NFL veteran
  20. Yeah...lack of cb depth cost us the playoffs last year. Which I guess is good since we have the number 1 pick now but still...
