  1. They signed him for his blocking ability I guess. Still...doesn't appear to be a good value from where I'm sitting.
  2. The situation is certainly a fluid one. Things may have changed and may change again, but national types have indeed said that he would come here in the past also.
  3. J.T. I've moved on because he had to. "Ibe understands how bad the hit looked, but as he did the day it happened, he insisted he wasn’t trying to hurt Kirkwood, that he simply was trying to make a play on the ball. "He asked trainers to apologize to Kirkwood and later issued a statement through his agent, Ray Haija, that said, 'Truthfully, I feel terrible for the play. I’m glad Keith is doing fine, but as a teammate, I’m supposed to protect my brothers during practice and I didn’t do that today, and I let the team and coaches down. 'I was aiming for the ball and didn’t think I hit him that hard or launched into him, but looking back at the clip, I didn’t choose the most efficient way.' Ibe also talked to Kirkwood personally to apologize. 'He’s like, "Dude, that’s just the media. They have to eat that story up. I know you didn’t do it on purpose,"’ Ibe said. "But you don’t hear that side of the thing because it’s not what gets clicks." Haija said he’s never had a client released that quickly over one play or one mistake. 'The intensity of [the Panthers’] actions was a little more intense than it needed to be for that moment,' he said. 'Generally, they don’t end up losing their opportunity because of that.' Tarnished images Ibe still considers himself "physically gifted enough" to play in the NFL. He also feels branded by the image of his hit to the point that no team will give him a chance. And even if a team did, he likely wouldn’t take it. 'Being honest, I just don’t respect the business,' Ibe said. 'Why would you want to be a part of a business that does that to your image? I understand business, but [what happened to me] changed my opinion of the NFL.'" I understand why Rhule axed Ibe, but I really thought it was harsh then, and I still believe it now. Disagree if you like, but in hindsight that should've been another indicator that Rhule is just kind of a power hungry prick. https://www.espn.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/36143/j-t-ibe-refuses-to-be-defined-by-hit-that-ended-his-nfl-dream-with-carolina-panthers
  4. No one in their sane mind would roll with Sam...
  5. That's not going to work due to supposed expectations put upon Rhule. Honestly, I'm thinking that it may have been better to give Rhule two more years as opposed to one if you weren't firing him this offseason, because at least he could've made rational decisions in fitting with the longer term wellbeing of the franchise. Now, he's essentially backed into a corner with a gun pointed at his head. Desperation is really his only answer, and the ship may not be righted for three to five years depending upon what transpires. We should really be hoping that we're all wrong and that he and Tepper are right, or we're just going to have to look to brighter days somewhere along the line of 2025 or 2026.
  6. Adonis Silver on Etsy, buddy. https://www.etsy.com/listing/983402854/panther-silver-ring-unique-design-925 The one below has its mouth open, but you're gonna pay for it! https://www.sapphirestudiosdesign.com/1159-sterling-silver-black-panther-mens-ring/
  7. It was normal silver color. I had the jeweler darken the cat, make the ring grey and add the blue sapphire stones in the eyes and sides. He could've made the ring blue, but I'm kinda hard on my rings. Well, not hard, but don't want to worry about keeping it pristine.
  8. People just need to accept that Rhule has the authority to run the team. It's in his contract! Tepper is not going to stop him, war room or not, unless he fires him, and he hasn't fired him, and realistically that ship has sailed for the 2022 season. We're going to have to deal with whatever Rhule decides. If it has future repercussions, we're just going to have to put our big-boy pants on and deal with it.
  9. I wasn't talking about the players as much as I was talking about the ownership and the execs. The front office has been excellent for decades basically, and that's why they've been winners and have such a loyal fan base for decades. I'm not going to go into a littany of things that the Panthers players have done wrong or have been alleged to do wrong. Hell, even some cheerleaders had their mugshots in the news one time. I'm not going to get into the specifics of the dirt--including racism--that the Panthers' past ownership and allegations against its executives in the FO. And it's more serious than a player having a little fun. Suffice it to say, that there has been some pretty immoral stuff going down on Mint St. from the top on down. I've been a Panthers fan through it all, have you? And if so, why? So, as far as I'm concerned, you're either a hypocrite, being emo and/or simply immature just because I had the audacity to give arguably the best organization in the NFL a little praise for hiring a good black coach who is in a pretty tough spot for rightfully bringing up issues that shouldn't be in the league, much less the world in 2022. Maybe you should jump ship and go watch reruns of Mr. Rogers if all the dirtiness of the NFL, including from its ownership and players is too much to handle.
  10. The Steelers are a class organization.
  11. Strong's arm may be just as strong as any arm in the class. If Willis has a stronger arm, it's only by a very few yards. Not trying to be funny, but: strong arm ≠ best arm (pun not intended...at least in the beginning ). I've seen Corral pass for 60-65 yards on one throw. So honestly people are kinda splitting hairs with these guys. There's plenty of arm to choose from depending on who you pick.
  12. I agree, but people (including scouts) still cherry pick things within the stats and the game tape, and honestly there are some valid complaints and concerns regarding all QB draft prospects notwithstanding yardage and TDs. Even more, you can't afford to look at things--including stats--in a vacuum. Context matters! The eye test, considering offensive philosophies and schemes ran, the ability to discern translatable traits, taking into account the level of competition, factoring in size, durability and injury history, etc. are all things that you must be able to draw conclusions from in order to get clarity. That's real too, ripp.
  13. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/carson-strong/32005354-5260-6190-8574-8df4e803866b Medical history is a significant red flag. Lacking in his pre- and post-snap response to pressure. Surgeries on right knee have robbed him of mobility. Unwillingness to get the ball out quickly leads to sacks. Needs to prove he can become a full-field reader. Will linger on primary receivers a little too long. Allows high safeties to get a head-start over the top. Chance-taking could backfire on him as a pro. Remains to be seen if he has patience to take what defenses give him.
  14. Let's get the story right now. There's a lot of bs floating around. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2720210-5-star-qb-prospect-matt-corral-commits-to-florida-over-alabama-georgia
  15. Are you serious? He didn't even really do anything. As a matter of fact, his fellow players respected him more for it. As for all the stuff @CPantherKingwas talking about Georgia and Florida not wanting him, that's not exactly true. Corral wanted to have an honest chance to start. He didn't necessarily like how Georgia did Fields, and he actually decommited to Florida who was lying to him, and he was also recruited by Bama. He likely made the best choice.
  16. True, but it's not Strong's strong suit. It is Matt Corral's.
  17. I remember people talking crap about Dick Vermeil also. Yeah, he won one Super Bowl, but he's now a Hofer. I know that I wouldn't stake my life on Harbaugh not getting to the Super Bowl if he's given another opportunity.
  18. Sucks for us! Good for Morgan. If I had to bet, Omar Khan will get that job.
  19. College has different dynamics than the pros. It's much more difficult to compete against the big dogs because of their history, entrenchment, support by boosters and fans, etc. There are no legit systems in place (and will never be, really) to promote fairness from a personnel perspective. That's why there are such gaps between programs. Michigans and Stanfords of the world aren't the Georgias, Bamas or Ohio States. That being said, there is a ceiling of success for most programs. Michigan's success is not going to be Ohio State's success, because success is relative. That's not to say that a coach can't come out of nowhere and go to the mountaintop, but that's not the norm, and will that success be sustained over a long period of time? A few times it will, but most of the time it won't. Even more, sometimes coaches--including the young whippersnappers who are making a name for themselves in the college ranks--are just better suited for the NFL (and indeed their goal is the NFL). The NFL is designed for parity. If you have a good eye for talent in the draft and free agency, quality coaching, and a knack for roster building, vision and the ability to sell the vision to elicit discipline and excellence, you will succeed. Harbaugh seems to have those traits.
  20. Well, Corral is about as accurate as they come. Just saying. He also gets the ball out quickly.
  21. He looks to be a great clean pocket passer, and he damned well better be with one good knee. LOL. I appreciate you, Ricky, but remember, you asked us to prove how wrong you are.
