Agree. I'd like to see blackshear get a few of those screens they love to send Thielen's way.

As a matter of fact... Last week when Houston stopped the Panthers on the goal line and they were coming out from the 1 yard line, guess who they ran right at to give themselves some playing room? Yep. And gained 6 yards just like that, taking away the threat of a safety. When offenses target you as a weakness, you are not that guy.

Sweat is a much better overall player than Burns. Burns is undisciplined. He doesn't read plays well, often out of position focused on the sack vs stopping the run or screen. And can we talk about how many tackles he misses - of friggin QBs. The least athletic player on the field, next to the placekickers.
-
Burns is so bad against the run that he really should be a situational pass rusher. That guy shouldn't get paid top 5 money. He just shouldn't.
-
If they don't sign Brown or Luvu, so Burns can stay on the team... I'll lose all hope and just watch the best game when they're playing. Just catch the ESPN highlights, if that.
-
Just have to make sure Mrs. Luvu comes to every game now. EVERY SINGLE ONE!
-
I think both are better run defenders. Chase tends to be a little undisciplines at times, but he's stronger at the point of attack.

I think MIN is looking for Kirk's replacement.

PathersWire: Best and worst PFF grades week 8
Navy_football replied to SZ James (banned)'s topic in Carolina Panthers
And TMJ has a higher grade than him. Luvu was EVERYWHERE making plays and TMJ has 1 catch for 9 yards -
I don't know... I'd much rather have Chase and Montez than Brian Burns. Would have been crazy but maybe they could have been in on those 2 and then traded Burns in the offseason. They would have, at the very least, been able to get a 2nd and 3rd for Burns in the offseason. And likely could have signed both Chase and Montez for just a little more than what they're about to pay Burns.

Decent game by both QBs. They're rookies. They'll both get better! But to those that argued with me 2 weeks ago about these guys having different situations and you had to watch the games to see it... do you think we have a Dell, Nico or even Noah Brown on this team? Do you still think the oline protection is even remotely the same? Agree Houston couldn't get much of a run game going today though. Overall, I still don't see CJ doing anything BY isn't.

Official Texans at Panthers GameDay Thread

More presnap motion and misdirection. The motion will help this receiving group get open by putting pressure on the defense to adjust, rather than sitting there in front of your guy in man-to-man waiting for the snap. Defenses have been too comfortable defending our receivers because they're not great route runners and/or they don't have the speed to pressure the defense. That little bit of indecisiveness from the defense would even help the oline in run and pass blocking. Defenses have just been pinning back their ears and going after Bryce, because the playcalling has been pretty straight forward. Panthers don't have the QB or the receivers for that style of football. The Rams also use that motion to give receivers and TEs a head start and full head of steam on kick out run blocks and misdirections off of that. Making it harder to know where the ball is going. I can really see Mingo and Tremble bullying folks in that role. If Sanders is back, that presnap motion to him to beat coverage in pass plays and giving Chuba more room to run. Endless possibilities. A ton of ways to help receivers get open that Reich wasn't using. Reich now gets more of an opportunity to help lead and direct every aspect of the game instead of just the offense. Personnel, defense, special teams, clock management, etc. All should get equal share of his attention.

Seriously, do y'all want a positive vibes only thread?
Navy_football replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
I voted for a positive only thread, but as I read comments I'm not so sure that's the best approach. There just seems to be a lack of objectivity - and that can go both ways. The emotionally mature approach would be to not allow OTHERS to dictate YOUR emotions. I'm guilty of that, but only for a short time. When I realize I've given them too much power, I tend to mellow out and come back to a discussion among fans of the same team. That's all this is. Discussions about topics related to a team we are all fans of. It should never be personal. I think that's where the MODs are probably needed most. Correcting those little (or sometimes completely out of line) personal comments that aren't necessary. -
Gotcha. I didn't realize that was the case because in the Saints game, they looked a lot better than anything Carolina has done all season. I'm not a Texans fan so I hadn't seen a full game yet. I had only been watching highlights and stat lines for CJ, but decided to actually watch him play and came away thinking he's really good for a rookie, but I didn't see where he was sooo much better than BY. The RBs and receivers were making plays all over the place. But, apparently that was an outlier and not the norm.

Thomas Brown if he turns this offense around
Navy_football replied to Frank9999's topic in Carolina Panthers
In this scenario, couldn't Tepper just offer him more money to stay as OC until Reich is out? That's probably best case for Brown anyway. -
"Bryce Young needs superstars to be successful"
Navy_football replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce definitely needs to take more shots downfield. No friggin doubt about that. But is isn't just the separation. It's winning at the point of attack. Thielen and Tremble seem to be the only recievers that can catch a contested ball. And there isn't a receiver that can just go get it if you put it up there. Down 5 points on the 30 yard line with the clock running out. Who's making that play? -
Reich handing over playcalling to Brown
Navy_football replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Reich could prove himself to be a much better HC than offensive playcaller. Hopefully... Prayerfully... -
Yes! or 4 games at once, which is what I was doing. I can't give a full 3 hours to just Carolina right now. It's just demoralizing and makes football not fun. So you watched both games and came away thinking Stroud looked better then Bryce? Please explain. Seriously. I'm curious. What did Stroud do that looked better than Young to you? No judgment or response from me on your opinion.
-
I'm going by what you said. You said you watched his snaps from YT. I'm not trying to win an argument. I'm just offering a different POV based on what I saw watching the games. You can choose to stay in Bryce is horrible mode if that's your choice. Stroud can be better than Bryce and Bryce can still be good. Those two things can be true at the same time. Just like Bryce could be just as good as Stroud but Bryce doesn't win any games. They can both exist at the same time.

Bruh... How can I say this to get through to some of yall? Watch the game. The flow of the game. The timeliness of playcalling and big runs. Pass protection. Separation of receivers. It's different when you WATCH the game! Watch the game. Not the highlights and stat line. Watch the game! The game has a different feel than when you're just watching his throws or his highlights. If you WATCH the GAME!
