Moving on to the 2nd round discussion
Swaggasaurus replied to flagfootballcoach28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Give me one of them UCLA boys. Schwesinger at ILB or Oladejo at OLB. -
Should be able outside run ATL to death. Brian Burns and Hason Reddick level washout.

Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8
Swaggasaurus replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
The crashouts are worth it no matter how this lands. The Walker fanboys were as annoying as the day 2 Darnell Washington fanboys a couple years ago. -
Maybe so man. I’m holding out hope for Schwesinger at 15-20, hell even 8. He busts you get fired, but everybody been saying no difference in talent level after the top 5.

Walker…got to follow the visits.
-
fug it…give me Schwesinger off the top rope.

Daniel Jeremiah’s . Final draft

Mason Graham is also absolutely not a scheme fit for Carolina in 2025, but here we arez -
Conventionally this isn’t a normal draft. Normal rules don’t apply. There is no discernible difference between prospects from picks 5 to 100. Ward, Hunter, Carter, Warren, Jeanty. And two of those are a TE and RB…gasp… I would rather take us Carson Schwesinger at 8 than Mykel Williams…wouldn’t even feel bad about it. Same thing for Derrick Harmon over Nolen. EZ over Walker. Simmons over Esery. The point is it doesn’t matter what other people rank player 10 and player 30 if the team feels they are even. I don’t think we should get fleeced but if you give up a point or two in value…this the year to do it. I normally hate trading down, but the sweet spot is where it is.

ESPN Pete Schrager’s final mock
Swaggasaurus replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Plan to get gashed if you have Walker playing inside on 1st. Play the tape. At best he can stand there and catch the RB when they get to him in the inside run game. If this guy plays inside It will be in obvious passing situations where he has use as a pass rusher or spy. -

Jalon Walker is absolutely not ideal for ILB on first down or short yardage. Is it backwards day? -

Chris Simms: Jalon Walker is the most overrated player in the draft
Swaggasaurus replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Walker has some extra bust potential. Every time someone brings up limited stats, the other side says “but he had limited snaps.” I don’t like that. I’d have a true impact player on the field as much as possible, don’t matter if it’s at Georgia or Catawba. He’s got some stuff that protects him too, intangibles, leadership, tenacity, he plays hard. Still, if we are at 8 and he’s on the board, with no trade out scenario, I probably pick him. -
Dan Morgan pre-draft press conference

Been saying Walker is a 3-4 OLB. He has ZERO value as an early down Inside guy. Absolute fuging 0. -
REPORT: Panthers open to trading down from #8
Swaggasaurus replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m usually in favor of the no trade down. It’s a different draft tho…it’s not bad, it’s just different.- 104 replies

God forbid this is the way the Draft shakes out
Swaggasaurus replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we can’t trade back for someone to take Sanders. Give me Warren or MIKE “NO CHARGES” GREEN then. -
Walker- Has the intangibles, demeanor, and potential. Only negs are no big time #’s and size, but it’s not like he’s a hobbit. Edges out Warren for me. Position value not there.
-
Of course I did. I’m talking about stats only. 60 total tackles and 6.5 sacks is nowhere near top 10 pick stats. I said I probably pick him and it’s for what’s on tape, between the ears and what he can be. But I’m quoting the one year wonder stat for Warren. And comparing it to zero year wonder from other prospects.
-
Horrible argument in comparison to the potential Edge Rusher picks who have exactly 0 high level successful years statistically. Looking at you Walker, Williams, and Shemar. That said all on the table I probably go Walker over Warren, but the paper don’t look so good..
-
Brock Bowers was 6’3” at the combine. Laporta as well. That’s not on the plus end of TE size. As far as what Warren brings that some haven’t. He’s prototype in nearly every box. Still I think you go the other way in the top 10, but someone gets a 10 year plus starter in all likelihood. Anyone can flat out bust, but you are having to project way less with Warren than others we’ve been talking about.
-
Also a good comp. Almost put Shockey or Hockenson.
-
All quite different players. Olsen had some work to do and always lacked some explosion as a player. Pitts played off the line a ton in college. Was really a jumbo slot receiver (Cough TMac Cough.) Warren’s comp coming out should be Shockey who was a solid 4 time ProBowler, but no GOAT. It’s not often you get one that belongs top half R1, but Warren is one. I’d still draft another direction I suppose.
-
20-95k is quite the difference. These folks out here scouting can only afford a Corolla and Burger King 2 for 5. Ain’t no wonder so many busts get drafted.
-
Linebacker rankings. Schwesinger’s continued rise the past few months was inevitable. Won’t make it out of the 30s. Stutsman a good consolation prize for those that miss on him. Knight Jr. could be a really good 3-4 plugger so maybe that’s a fit for us, not as instinctive. Late rounds I’d take a flier on Nick Martin or Cody Simon. Still think we need a piece there.
