Draft Wish list!! prospects not talked about..
panfanman replied to Sub Zero's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would love to get O'Cyrus Torrence but he'll be gone by our 2nd Rd pick. But we do need to address some possible depth for the Oline in the draft. I wouldn't be disappointed if we took Ricky Stromberg with Pick 132 if he's still there. He's listed as a center but also played at OG. He could easily be depth at both positions and possibly take over when we move on from Bozeman. -
And this is exactly why you entertain trade talks.

Dear Chicago and media…. About that first next year…..
panfanman replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't care. I still hate losing those picks. But it's where we're at now and I hope I'm wrong. I will say this, at 9 I was excited about the prospects of trade down for more picks. Then I was shattered at the lose of draft capital on a prayer we pick the right guy (if there even is one in this draft). To now being reservedly excited because of the moves this front office had made in the off-season and am resting my faith on their continued off season performance come April 29th. Go Panthers. Keep Pounding. -
My head is spinning. What condition? What round? What pick swap? If it's purely a round for round pick, say our 6th for their 6th, then then Fitts is REALLY betting on the Panthers.

Panthers are taking Stroud, and Houston knows it
panfanman replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe they feel they've seen everything they need to see from Stroud and are only going to Young's to see if he can change their minds. -
So far this off season the only mistake I've seen made is giving up too much draft capital. I don't care if it works out. Even the guy that buys a lottery ticket and wins is foolish in the act.

I don't care what the schedule is as long as they don't make the Tennessee game out of the country. My wife and I are planning a vacation to Nashville around that away game.

Seems like a reasonable deal too.

Thank God. Been waiting for that since noon. I might sleep well tonight.

Carolina willing to move Corral. Cost won’t be high.

I was reading this morning one of the pundits (I forget which) suggested he goes to the Raiders for a 4th. -
Bucs targeting Baker Mayfield in FA
panfanman replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
All this talk about the Bucs in line to have the #1 pick next year, nawwwwwww. We're going to have the #1 pick next year. . .wait. . .doh. Bears be laughing all the way to the bank. (Not a reflection on what I think of my team. . .more of a reflection of my luck as of late). -
Does anyone know. . .does losing DJ to Chicago make us eligible for a compensatory pick at some point or the fact it was a trade screw us out of that?
-
IDK who's drafted #1. I have a gut feeling AR will be the best of the 4 down the road though. Maybe not this year or next but when looking back in 10 years I just have that feeling.

His "lack of production" was because he primarily was used as a blocking TE and 2 other TEs on the team were used for receiving instead. Still leaves a question mark. (Those other TEs will be beasts in the NFL when they come out).

JOE PERSON: Panthers will not pursue Lamar Jackson

He doesn't have an agent. He's representing himself. -
Ryan Poles trying to drive up the cost of the #1 pick
panfanman replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hate this and I can totally see it happening. We've put together an outstanding coaching staff but are going to squander it by mortgaging our future paying way to much to move up for a less than elite prospect. It's going to happen. -
This all but guarantees we take a QB in the 1st round I think. The question now is who will be our veteran bridge presence? I'm in no way comfortable with the fleece day our trade partner is going to have. We're going to give up way too much to get our QB. I was happy take a chance to wait and draft Hooker late in the 2nd if we got Carr.

REPORT: Panthers to aggressive pursue trade up to get a QB
panfanman replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Carr is in no way plan B. He will either be the plan or not. By the draft he will already have a home so there's no way to fall back to him. -
I grew up in the Midwest and we used Miracle Whip. When I moved to South Carolina and married my wife from here she, much to my dismay, insisted on Dukes. For a couple decades then I ate Dukes. Then on a trip to visit dear ol' mom, she broke out the Miracle Whip. I was so excited. But I guess by that time I was hooked on Dukes because the Miracle Whip tasted like $h!t.

I didn't exactly understand the poll part of the question but to answer whether or not to take him at 61? Absolutely. I'm rarely for moving up in the 1st when the cost is so high. Add in you're reaching for a player at a position that is such a crapshoot. I would rather take advantage of another sucker (team) that's will to give up draft capital to move into our spot. I can't remember a year since drafting Cam that I didn't want to trade back. Now I know these draft simulators are highly suspect but let me present to you this draft scenario. Here you'll see I traded back several times right out of the 1st round (normally not ideal). When I started taking players I did it from the position we signed a good bridge QB that didn't break the bank like Wentz. We also resigned Bozeman and Coleman. We also picked up Jalen Ramsey. You can't look at any of my selections and not say they're not good players, better yet excellent value, and furthermore fill needs. The trades I made were not me going to other teams trying to cook something but rather other teams coming to me. We get one of the top 2 LB in the back extremely versatile and an edge that is solid. My only question on these two would be how do they fit into our new defense? We also get arguably the best OG in the draft. A great WR (although I was hoping for Hyatt to make things maybe a little more comfortable for Hooker). A TE that has been mocked many times in the 1st round. A bruising running back. And an eventual replacement and sub rotation for Bozeman at the OC position that also has substantial OG experience (2 OGs coming off injury I'm sure we could use that depth. As far as what we have left for picks in 2024, you'll see I gained a 1st, but gave up a 2nd and two 6ths.. . .but I degress. Back to Hooker. Here's the issue with waiting until 61. Where's he going to go? Really, he could go in the 1st round or easily well before 61. So waiting is a huge gamble. But when 61 came along he was still there. I was offered a trade to fall back. I can't remember what team made the offer but they and the teams between 61 and 70 either already had a superstar QB, had already taken on in the draft or had other glaring needs so I took the gamble and he was there at 70. I was lucky he wasn't gone by 61. The extra pick I gained I used on the RB Charbonnet so that was icing on the cake. So yes, I'd be thrilled with Hooker at 61.
